Okay, so the only reason we have stayed silent on the details until now is because we think that our users complaining to Google about the issue may only make matters worse. So, please, do not complain directly to Google. Let us deal with this through proper channels. I have had discussions related to both our device limits and certain features that we feel cater directly to only the illegal use of our platform with many users and stated how the store operators have all the power. We can be removed at a whim by any of them. Many of you have argued with me that that is a silly concern. I've also pointed out how the stores don't fully understand what we are and, in many cases, just don't care to. The net of the current situation is that someone was discovered using our platform to distribute content illegally. The owner of the content reported our app as violating their copyright and Google immediately suspended us. No matter that we are not responsible for this nor does our app actually provide any content. With the very vague understanding of these details by the people in charge, the mere hint of anything "off" is enough. We have recourse, supposedly, but they have a rather long time to respond to it. We should be nearing the end of that time and will, hopefully, be re-instated soon. If not, we'll have to see what our next steps are to prove to them that our app is not hosting this content. I'll re-iterate - a bunch of our users complaining will likely just make matters worse so please do not do that. We will let you know when we have any more information. Google has been completely silent for almost two weeks now. Thanks.

Are there any updates regarding a Featured / Spotlight section? This is something that I have been wanting for my server for awhile now to better inform my users of new larger titles that have been added. I also made a mockup concept image just to see how it would it could look.

There is a Halloween spotlight that can be used for this as a starting point. Also this feature was requested million times already for all emby clients. This should be prioritized and delivered.

No sure how this is supposed to be interpreted? But does appear on the list for 2020+ models. HEVC UHD: Level 5.2 supported, seamless resolution change supported with Level 5.1 up to 3840x2160 But for support Emby would have to update capabilities for these models as currently limited to 5.1.

I am honestly puzzled as to why you're seeing what you're seeing. Do you have any custom CSS? Edit: Ahhhh, I'm not paying attention, your screenshots are not of a top-level library, but of a folder within. Naturally no tabs. That's what was puzzling me.

Hey this is very exciting! I think it should most likely fix some issues @GiGo! Now when you have an existing item,, you can select the button. You then get this dialog, which has been altered slightly from before. You can press "OK" in order to sort it... ...or you now have the "Identify" option available. Clicking "Identify, will bring up the "fileorganizer" page. Great, now you should be able to fix any last minute information. It doesn't show the location there in my screen shot, but once you select the series, it shows up! I'm just going to test some more, and then I'll build a version.

Was thinking SortName, but your example shows web client working and Roku not. What server and Roku app version (something just doesn't look right in the Roku image)?

So the target folder is not being honored. The destination folder (the target folder) is not updated from the identify page when it has a value. I will make sure that the destination root folder is always updated with the value from the identify page. I'll do it now.

With me it runs also somehow endlessly without reaction. But saving in the config works again. I've copied out what I've noticed. Nope, you can't get multiple Character images, just single image (one per actor). Actors are db entities and can have only a single image associated. If you scrape from TVDB, it'll be first one that was grabbed (which is somewhat annoying having a cartoon image under a movie same actor starred in). Exact reason why I was pushed towards scraping actors from TMDB. Though, tbh, haven't let Emby scrape TVDB images in a long time, there was some discussion about it, don't know if it's still scraping Character image or Person image, @Happy2Play?

For 4x4, I've been running NUC8i5 (i5-8259U, Iris plus) as my portable server for the last few years, and it's still a beast, happily serving 10ish-15 clients (mostly browsers) with at least half of them transcoding at any given time (>90% of my content is HEVC), never tested upper limit. I can only imagine what do later-gen NUCs do.

My take on this is more from a maintenance perspective. The way the Emby database works is fine when it works, but when it has some issues it would be much easier fixing with a better database than having to recreate a library with 250K entries which I have had to do countless times and is very frustrating and time consuming. Emby's database gets confused too easily when changing directory locations or moving things around between libraries. My vote is for easing the maintenance rather than for speed.

You haven't yet provided a log which might easily provide the answer. You said there was no ffmpeg log, but there is always a server log. This could be as simple as these files requiring transcoding when accessed remotely, but transcoding being disabled in the server settings, for instance. There is some progress being made on this - the use of existing 'banners' produces reasonable results - with a 'spotlight' of 2 or 3 titles. There are multiple threads on this for 'Recommendations / Spotlight / Watchlist' etc - they are effectively all the same thing - a row of items pulled from the main collection to 'bring to the top' of the pile. I have no ETA's - but this is being looked at but it's not top of the priority list - in summary, there is no easy way to get placement of the image above 'My media' nor is there any easy way to get a single full width banner using existing metadata.

Yes, I am uninstalling first, because my TV (Samsung series 6) does not allow updating the app of some reason. My other TV (Samsung series 5) can update Emby app without problem. (sorry for late response ...)

The longer Emby for Android isn't available in the Play store I get more uncomfortable and wonder why. Is there a security issue or other legitimate reason they have pulled the Emby app? I am uncomfortable side-loading apps, and if that were the only option when I first discovered this I wouldn't have installed it.

Newer TV’s will have updated root certificates, so that may be the difference between the two TV’s You haven’t mentioned, but I’m assuming you’re using a Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate. It is a known issue due to the root certificates built into the tv for let’s encrypt have expired. The recommended solution is to use a ZeroSSL certificate as this is still supported
