Thanks for looking into it. I've watched numerous releases from the same group without issues like Yellowjackets, Foundation, Acapulco, The King's Man, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and probably a few other movies in mp4 with DV and atmos from this or a different group. I can't see any clear difference between the files that work and those that don't. After playing a bit with mp4 demuxer and remuxer tools I managed to remux the Falcon and the Winter Soldier file I originally had issues with and thought that was just a one off, but then I got it with a different release of the same episode and other movies and series as well. I'll PM you some magnet links for files that had issues as they're quite big for Dropbox.

It is really cool that Emby has the ability to support multiple versions of the same movie. It would be nice to have a setting on the client side to allow the user to set which version should be selected by default. This could be as simple a user-entered string, or it could be a list of detected strings to choose from. It could allow multiple entries and it would choose them in the order entered. On the Kodi side, it would also be nice to get the "Choose the Best Version for Me" option that the Emby app has.

Emby server currently creates some auto-generated chapters when a chapter file (usually an XML file) is absent. Can you please add an option to turn that OFF? Thanks.

This is still a work in progress. It needs this change to make it work well on Samsung TV and other platforms

I think this is a recent bug because I don't remember having this issue in the past. When playing music through Emby music on the AppleTV 4k, the AppleTV will go to sleep based on the system sleep settings. To re-create: - Navigate to AppleTV settings -> Sleep After -> set to 15 minutes - Open Emby and play music/playlist that that will be a total of at least 15 minutes - Leave Emby playing music. AppleTV screensaver will activate and then will go to sleep after 15 minutes regardless of where you are in the song/playlist. Logs don't even show that Emby is playing music and the Apple TV doesn't show up as an active device. I don't even see any recent activity from the AppleTV while it's playing music. Video shows up in the "recent activity" dashboard as well as in "active devices" on the dashboard - but music does not.

Pretty sure this is a difference between TVDB v3 and v4 apis, stable is still on v3 and beta is on v4.

Just double checked & you are right. They have all changed over to mixed content! Apologies. I should have noticed that when I looked earlier. It won’t let me amend them so I’m going to have to delete the libraries & set them up again which I’ll have a crack at this afternoon. Thanks for all the help.

Hi. Go into the main app settings (cog on home screen) and choose "Playback". Then choose the quality you want there.

All in all it would be great to be able to disable any limits server-side, all my users are on 1Gbit connections and no ISP's in my country throttle media streaming at all so having Emby implementing a "fake" bitrate limit while using the automatic profile is moot for me

Not necessarily following as that view is still available. But I think I see what you are referencing from Luke's question as that is Normal for Mixed Content type libraries. You need to set Display Mode to TV and TV mode home screen to Horizontal.

Too late now. I've reinstalled. But it was something about tmg? file. And when I checked the USB it had additional files that weren't extracted at the time of installing initially

So I had a play today - and in summary, I can't appear to re-create the problem. I used a different file (but from the same scene-DVSUX) - so that may be the issue but I successfully - 1) Played back the original file on the LG Client using the LG Internal Speakers no issues - DV and Atmos triggered and played fine. NO SUBS - this forces a transcode. (subs were 'timed text - tx3g Codec ID in mediaInfo) 2) Demuxed the mp4 using mp4demuxer - into .265 and .ec3 - subs were saved with .DAT (?) 3) Remuxed the video and audio components above into a new .mp4 using mp4muxer - set DV profile as 5 (same as original) - no subs. 4) This new file played back just fine as well - triggering DV and Atmos. So - you can try doing the demux/remux to see if that fixes the issue (but you'll lose subs as I couldn't find a way to embed these - external .srt subs didn't appear to work either ) If you can upload the original file to dropbox or something (or pm me the magnet link) then I'm happy to try with that, but its looking like the file in it's original mux may not be compatible with the Emby wrapper of the LG Client ...

Think I've found the issue....the tick was in the 'manually configure DNS server' and when i unticked this it worked. Cheers

Hello fellow Embians! Just wanted to post a quick update on my Emby plugin that provides a Subsonic API-compatible service layer to enable use of Subsonic apps against an Emby music library. The Subsonic API page groups API calls by category, but I am working on the top 3 categories: System Browsing Album/song lists I have roughly a third of those API calls implemented and am working on the remainder. After that my next priorities will be, in descending order: Playlists Media retrieval Searching After I have at least a majority of the API methods from the above categories implemented with most of their parameters, I think we'll be ready for testing (right now I'm testing against my own local Emby instance running 4.6.7.0, and Android Subsonic apps subtracks and Audinaut). Probably the main limitation right now is that the Subsonic app you are using needs to support legacy authentication (no hash/salt). I do plan to implement support for that kind of authentication later, probably leveraging an API key in my plugin's config page. If you want to try it out right now you are more than welcome although it really only supports getting random songs, getting all artists, some browsing functionality and license/ping so it really isn't anything earth-shattering yet. Even the methods that do work don't support all of their (non-required) parameters at the moment. I also have no instructions at the repo yet for building & installing, but if you have at least .NET Core 3.1 installed, you should be able to build the .DLL and copy it to your plugin directory. After that you'd need to restart Emby to "see" the plugin. But that being said, I wouldn't even consider the plugin "alpha" so if you want to build the plugin, install it in Emby and try a Subsonic app against it, go ahead, but do so at your own risk. As always, if you have any questions, problems or requests, feel free to bring up an issue at the repo (linked above). I'll most another update probably later next week as more functionality is implemented. Cheers!

In TV mode apps, it would be nice if FF & RW (and skip forward / skip back or equivalents) should be "page down" and and "page up" in lists for faster navigation. I find the buttons don't do anything in lists in TV mode in web based apps I've tried like sideloaded Android app on FireTV and Emby Theater on Windows PC, but also in AndroidTV app on FireTV it also doesn't work. I also have a Roku as well and in that app, this appears to be hooked up this way, so kudos there. - Jason

I'm having an issue where Emby-Next-Gen doesn't sync after I return from hiberation. I am using 6.2.11. Here's what it says in the log:

Careful... I see what you are doing... Saying you have been focusing on making live tv better, and more live tv updates are coming.. Thanks.. But your comment sounds like "Nope, I don't care about this thing that is important to you, but check out all of the other cool stuff I made time for that I do care about in 4.6" I know that's not what you mean.. but sounds like it a little...

The only permissions you should have to set for emby when switching to DSM 7 are the Shared Folder permissions with read/write access. However, emby is now a "System internal user" so make sure you click the drop down box first before changing. Any old emby local users can be deleted under DSM 7

Hello, I am just re-iterating a request I've had for many years, patiently waiting, but it gets more and more irritating as time goes on since it should be easy to fix. I'm also adding others requests in this post as well since perhaps you can address these at once. I am an extensive user of multiple versions of the same movie. For instance with Dawn of the Dead [1978], I have 4 versions of the movie in the same folder. Here are the features I would like: 1) When you select a different version with the pulldown, the duration and "Ends at" also should change. Usually different versions of the film have different lengths. I've asked for this for several years now and it should not be a difficult change. 2) It would be great if the chapters and their thumbnails also changed with the version selection 3) Ability to override the default and select your own default version to come up first. Others have requested this one as well. I know I have posted #1 and many others have asked for #3, but I want to see if there are others who support these changes to see if we can get them elevated in priority. Thanks.
