If you are using Windows, then you can simply copy the ffmpeg FROM the Beta and use that (download it only and just extract it somewhere else - NOT over your Stable version!) - there is no need to install the Emby beta itself. I've been running this way for months with zero issues. see - https://github.com/chefbennyj1/Emby.IntroSkip.Release/wiki/6.-FAQ2 points

I’m also on unRAID, and currently run both a stable and beta Emby Server instance. Docker containers makes it very easy to run multiple instances of a same app, since each container is essentially a lightweight VM with only what’s required to run a certain program and that is isolated from other containers. @mbuhmann If you want to run both, you may want to give only read access to your media library on the second container, as well as a different configuration folder so you don’t mix up the data from both installations. Other than that, make sure your second Emby container has a different host port and you should be good to go. EDIT: I just realized you’re on a "Linux" platform, which means the stable version of Emby should already have the necessary tools to run the Intro Skip plugin. I still recommend testing in a separate container, but the plugin most likely already works with your stable version of Emby.2 points

I haven't ever run two instances of emby on the same machine. I know it is possible. The ports have to change. I just checked, and it doesn't look like the beta server is portable, so it may not be straight forward. I don't know. I will mention that behind the scenes, things are in motion to have a stable, integrated release over the next couple... Several... months. So, as cool as it is to run introskip (biased opinion) it is happening.2 points

CSS + Netflix Billboard Clone + Danmaku (bullet chat/moving subtitle comments) CSS modified from the forum, fixed bugs and parts that didn't work for me. Added front page Netflix Billboard, which is dynamic and updated according to the content provided by the backend server. Use Canvas to make a bullet chat system and pass in comments through an external open API from DandanPlay.1 point

I've noticed something that bothers me for a while and wanted to report it now. With the IOS apps, if you change the network, Emby stops completely and no longer loads. When you're looking, it stops and no images load when scrolling. To fix this you have to close the app completely and eject it. This occurs when you switch from WiFi to a mobile network, as well as the access point in the internal network. I often notice this at home because I have Ubiquiti access points and they keep switching. Since the IP is changed, the app does not check it and you have to restart it. Would be cool if this could be solved a little more elegantly. RPReplay_Final1644529024.mov RPReplay_Final1644529024.mov1 point

As @Sammy has said - your biggest issue here is it is interlaced video in the AVI. As long as you choose to de-interlace the video and choose the same frame rate as the original video - then the resulting picture should look a lot better. I would personally use h264 and AAC 2.0 Audio in an MKV or MP4 container for maximum compatibility. Bitrate is subjective - but for SD material - then anything between 1-4 Mbit should be more than enough - but only experimentation will get you the best outcome that YOU are happy with - there is no magic 'use this' formula. I hope this helps. btw - this should probably go into the 'general' forum area - this is not an Emby Feature Request .. one of the Mods will likely move it .. @GrimReaper ..1 point

I don't even know what docker is! Anyway on linux I have it creating a most of the logs I have found the error with the backup paths, but there seems to be a permissions issue creating directories with the backup function. stuck at the moment, doing some googling.... The create directory, and therefore cannot write files is definately failing on linux with a permission error - i just have no idea why at the moment.1 point

I found it hard to reproduce this error. I believe this happens when a series from the library has not been processed. The unprocessed series, is not in the exclude list, it just has yet to be processed. Please try this and see if the issue is fixed. IntroSkip_v0.0.1.95.zip With regards to duplicate entries in the series select box. I haven't been able to reproduce it yet. But I am still trying.1 point

@mickle026l i just want to say the restoring from the .actors feature you added is working well on my server.1 point

Now appears to be working correctly on my win10 server (not sure about linux yet) *Fix to ensure Image type is only the Primary Image *Fix to not link the file on your drive but copy it to the metadata (Thus not allow Emby to delete the original) Two options Now, 1/ Replace ALL images with those found in your folders 2/ Replace only those that are MISSING with those found in your folders As with everything I do, test it on a test server first. Its working on mine but as proved before plugins may misbehave on others systems.1 point

In short you can only get HDR using native player and the container must be MP4, there's no way to get HDR using MKV container in Emby for Apple TV. The problem is already known by the developers.1 point

.. so for me .94 is noticeably faster on PC (~1 sec now, previously was ~2 sec) but on Android it's still about ~5 secs. I'm fine with that. If I choose a different tab in the plugin, then I appear to re-load the item list again - maybe this list can be cached rather than re-loaded each time ? This would I guess make it bearable after the initial wait for a huge show list ?1 point

Good point, I've been doing this with Brave/Vivaldi but hadn't tried with firefox! The results are the same, around 30 seconds for it to load even in a fresh profile !!! (It's like exploding head or something?)1 point
-
there is one more test you can do on firefox just for fun to check something. Can you create a new Profile in Firefox, select it and log into your emby server and try it again? I am very interested if this would speed up things (you don't need to delete your existing profile)1 point

@TallBoiDez I am installing linux now on an older computer, its taking forever! I tried linux mint which was very fast - i liked it, but the emby package fails to install the .deb with a package permission error. So trying to install ubuntu, and dont think the older pc likes it very much, still installing .... zzzzz. zzZZZ . zzzzZZZZ.. LOL!1 point

So a somewhat interesting fact, it loads on my android devices completely fine now. Takes maybe about 30 seconds to load the list and maybe about 10-15 to change tv show selection but it loads and is somewhat useable But all chromium based browsers on any of my desktops still crash due to memory errors lol Was hoping the double processing fix would stop that but sadly not Firefox still reliably loads the list and still in about 30 seconds as well but no more double processing taking that to 60 seconds! For those mentioning how fast it is with ~600 shows, yeah, I realized just how fast it can be during my testing! I experienced this for myself just recently, I was just so used to it crawling along since I first installed it ages ago that it blew me away how fast it was the moment I tried seeing what would happen if I removed one of my libraries! But 600 is a very big gap from my 2700 lol The issues I am having don't affect people until excessively large amounts of shows come into play! If I had to guess, I'd say somewhere between 1500 to 2000+ shows is where performance starts to really shit itself1 point

Added the Kodi compatability function for you. This will use ALL the images from your drive and replace any images you may have from other sources. (only .jpg). This function is in the reapir tab. It also drops a LOG, which could be huge if you have a massive library! 7 lines and a seperator per person. Let me know if you want this refining to just missing images, I can add that too, but for now its Person all images1 point

Load times on both my PC (~2secs) and Android (~5 secs) are the same - I'm timing in my head, so it may be fractionally faster but I cannot honestly tell - but then again, I don't have any issues with it anyway ..1 point

yes via Chrome in Android. Chef has done a lot of work on this view for mobiles and via landscape it all fits in perfectly - portrait you need to swipe to get to the content (which is fair enough)..1 point

i just tested the select tv show box with my android phone and chrome browser from outside my network. List shows up in under 1 second, i have about 145 shows.1 point

My plugin will fix broken thumbnails, thats not what you have, you have a metarefresh problem. Others mention my plugin because it does fix broken thumnails that was caused by OMDB, and MovieDB updating to a new system at that time. OMDB was still at that time linking to dead links. I mentioned identify because that will replace everything with new, just like meta refresh should do but isnt doing. I know you dont need to identify the movie, but doing so again, should replace the Actors and actor cards for you. Anyway I try to help so: I built it again with a new function (please try this one), to force a refresh on cast members in movies, this worked on my test server where Embys menu refresh did not. Threr will be a roprt in logs of which actors it tried to refresh1 point

I'm working on something tonight. Interesting that it is processing the request twice... That doesn't help. I will have to track that down. Probabaly some kind of bubble up in the request function. I must have forgotten a 'preventDeafult()' somewhere. I will find it!1 point

It took a while but the intro skip process was 100% complete 2 days ago and I'm golden the green box pops up letting you know the intro was skipped. Of course some shows don't have a skip option but those that do the plugin seems to be working perfectly. Even those shows that start the intro after 2 to 3 minutes into the show it skips and shows the green intro skip box. Just an fyi I tested on desk top and nvidia shield as that what we use. Job well done everyone thank you all again1 point

Yes I can confirm this. If you do nothing and keep it open after a certain time it reconnects but it is bothersome. The other way is using the change server option to reconnect instead of exiting the app.1 point

Editing the path worked for Antenna, so I'll do that for Movies too. Thanks for pointing me to that fix!1 point

Yes, as Emby knows there is a <episodenumberend> but truly does not track to episode as there are no provider ids as it in one item. Just like if have the combined version then later remove it and add individual episodes the second part is no longer watched as it now has a providerid that has never been tracked. I would assume this will always be the case until Emby supports nfo files with multiple <episodedetails>, but there is another topic on that.1 point

Very common issue with cartoons as they are split on all provider by together and mixed in IMDB Example on IMDB "The Bullwinkle Show" Jet Fuel Formula/Bullwinkle's Ride or Goodbye, Dollink (TV Episode 1959) - IMDb episode 1 But TVDB and TMDB split them into S01E01 and S01E05 The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show - Rocky & Bullwinkle - Jet Fuel Formula (1) - Jet Fuel Formula - TheTVDB.com episode 1 The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show - Rocky & Bullwinkle - Jet Fuel Formula (2) - Bullwinkle's Ride or Goodbye, Dollink - TheTVDB.com episode 5 There are dozens of topics on this issue, so if your media is these merged mixed season/episode format there is no clean way to do this.1 point

HI, it's the same thing but the Synology review process required us to change our version codes so that's why you're getting notified of an update. It should only happen this one time.1 point

YouTube has made it quite clear that if you want to play their items you must use their ecosystem of players. For PC there exists methods to inject YouTube into the video player without compromise their interface. The YouTube specific buttons work. The YouTube interface depends on that. When playing on just a normal video player you lose the interactive display of clicking items. You can see they want you to click on stuff and subscribe and even buttons show on the screen you can click if this were played inside a YouTube interface. Since it is just playing as a video it loses everything YouTube about it. You cannot click buttons within a video when it is played on just any video player. It just won't work. YouTube wants that to work. That means YouTube wants to control the user experience entirely when you view their material. On the Roku it is impossible to stay within the Emby app to play YouTube video. You would exit the Emby app and launch into the YouTube app and play the trailer. But how do you get back to Emby after watching the trailer on YouTube? You do not. YouTube has no interest in that. This means it is likely illegal and against the terms of service of the YouTube platform to do this. Which means Emby cannot proceed. Apologies.1 point
