The IntroSkip team are moving into the next stages of the Plugin with Core Integration, so we thought it would be good to get feedback on the user experience thus far. Thanks !3 points

Hey IntroSkip team, I finally got around to giving this a go starting at v0.0.1.83 and wow what an awesome plugin! Appreciate the work you all have put into getting it to this point. Just on the topic of "minor cosmetic" - for those of us who aren't using the default light theme and a different accent colour. This text was a little confusing to me at first... I was looking everywhere for some "Green" Even the text itself seems to suggest that a user must make changes on this screen in order for the tool to work - at least that's what I thought when I used it for the first time. Functionally I have nothing else to comment on as it all works perfectly for me, great work guys! Look forward to the updates3 points

Options are always good. Exoplayer still can't deal with movies like the extended versions of The Martian or Blackhawk Down where the audio and video are out of sync right on the disc. So, I end up using an external player for those. HTTP may be good or better than it used to be, but direct should always be better if working properly. Most people don't need these options, but both are nice to have3 points

What I was referring to is Emby transcoding the video in order to deinterlace when the device has the ability to handle the deinterlacing if needed. You could call this a bug as it shouldn't happen but it's a matter of adjusting the functionality for your Roku Device so it won't do this. I'd actually love to see an option that is user driven just like on Android. This way the system could assume interlaced content is handled by the client. If it isn't the user can turn on the option and have the server transcode and deinterlace it. Almost all devices sold these days handle interlaced content fine which we couldn't say a year or two ago. Just to clarify using an example from earlier. This is a Direct Stream. Both the Video and Audio are used "direct" but the stream itself is not sent to the client in the original format which was mpegts (.ts extension) since that format is not usable on Roku. It was instead streamed using the HLS protocol. So it's a lightweight process as the audio and video and just copied into the new packets being written as needed by the client. You can see the stream was processing at 419 frames per second.2 points

I want to say that intro skip works relatively well for downloaded content but for LiveTV recordings it is hit and miss, mostly a miss.2 points

aaaaah, you made my day!! I have just recently started using Emby and noticed I couldn't play back HDR on TVOS. So I went back to Plex, which I didn't really like. Infuse works beautifully with Emby, though. Going back to Emby2 points

FYI, this bug was fixed in a subsequent. Please upgrade to v0.1.87, which can be found here.1 point

mergerfs when on linux. 1st dir /my/metadata 2nd dir /my/media both get merged to /my/merged /usr/bin/mergerfs /my/metadata:/my/media /my/merged -o rw,use_ino,allow_other,func.getattr=newest,category.action=all,category.create=ff,cache.files=partial,dropcacheonclose=true when running emby/whatever that writes to the merged directory, the written files are created in the metadata directory, leaving the media directory untouched. read about it and give it a try. i will never go back to one folder. https://github.com/trapexit/mergerfs1 point

The sideloaded one is our standard Android app that we are working on making compatible with TV devices as well (it is almost there).1 point

I think I average about 1 show like this per hundred. Sometimes it just makes no sense why the meta-data providers have a specific show setup a certain way as they are never found on disk or broadcast that way. One thing you can do that often helps is to go out and look at each provider you have setup to see how it looks on the providers site. If one of the providers has what you want then your life got easier as you can temporarily turn off other providers until this show is IDed and loaded.1 point

Just an fyi.. I know you released the 2.6.9 today but I also was runing the build 2 for a few days and it solved the issue with shows dissapearing. Things are looking better now. Thank you.1 point

Done. Tested series page, episode page, music album page, and the scenario where I start playing an episode, pause it to let the screensaver come on, and then resume playing and try to back-button out of the episode and get back to the episode page. All four attempts successfully reloaded the destination pages and allowed for continued navigation.1 point

I have Roku Ultras and they play TS. Ant-Man and Wasp was recorded with a Hauppauge Colossus 2. The default recording format is TS. The Magnum episode was recorded from a HDHomerun 1080i broadcast channel. With both of these examples, I had "Allow video playback that requires transcoding." unchecked.1 point

Yea I know there's a compromise for all these algorithms, hable will probably keep the highlights from blowing out more often than not. Guess it's personal taste? All I know was it was too dark for me , side by side with Plex was night and day , with Reinhard it's hard to tell them apart.1 point

@rbjtech I was confused as I had done this after punk pointed it out, however I ended up needing to also refresh metadata/scan library files in order for this to take effect. Thanks! That was really the last major thing bugging me from making the switch from Plex.1 point

Without doubt - while the quality of the data is the primary goal, as you say, the ability to edit it is the MAJOR advantage this feature has over Plex. I also believe Plex does not have any 'Outro/Credit' recognition either - so functionally, it surpasses Plex in a number of important areas.1 point

That is rather strange @flavz. I got your PM this morning concerning this and will respond shortly to setup a remote session with you to have a look at your issues. Carlo1 point

I'm pretty sure the editor is a must have. I can't see depending on the detection data alone. It is good data, but there is always going to be that margin of error.1 point

Nice. Yea definitely keep v2 public updated with the fixes - but I think any extra features/enhancements need to be held for v3/Core integration or the Plugin that complements it.1 point

ok - I'll reach out to @Abobader as I'm not sure we have the option of 'Poll's anymore but that would be the simplest way to get general feedback ..1 point

Started getting this error this morning: App Center App Installation [App Center] Emby Server has an invalid digital signature. The app has stopped and cannot be installed on QTS. You can remove it in the App Center. This was after the latest firmware update: 5.0.0.1932 I'm running a TVS-871U-RP. Ok, never mind, I found this setting in the App Center -> Settings: Apparently I had to toggle this after the FW upgrade...1 point

„file name_of_video-thumb.jpg“ is in landscape format since it is a private video in my collection in Synology Video Station. For some weird reasons for the pre-defined „Homevideos“ in Synology Video Station the video thumbnails have to be in landscape format. I just realized that when I create my own „Home Video“ group and do not use the one provided from Synology, the video thumb previews are in portrait format, this should be the way to go to keep Synology, Kodi and Emby compatible.1 point

New version available 6.2.9 deltachanges: artwork backdrop fixes fix item removal1 point

An option to default to "set language plus language of default audio track, if different" for images would be great. If I have a foreign-titled release, I have to pick "all languages" to get the right artwork to show up, but then I also get drowned in all the other languages that aren't either English or the original language of the title in question.1 point

Sorry none of those ffmpeg logs are for 4.7.0.23 they are from 4.7.0.10. Does this only happen on items with excessive subtitles? But looks like this error references OUT-OF-MEMORY Process exited with code 137 - Failed linux - ffmpeg closes with return code 137 - Stack Overflow Exit code 137 - [OUT-OF-MEMORY]1 point

Bumping this. Even a simple, 5 band built-in Emby equalizer - like Plex has, like WinAmp has - would be very good to have.1 point

I have the server on my Synology. And for some reason, there's no Emby folder that I can find. So I'm kind of stuck on that one. EDIT: Actually, nevermind, apparently I had to...give my username access even though I had it already. Whatever. Folder is visible to me now, so I'll see how that works out. Thanks!1 point

@Happy2Play is right. "Forced" is superseding "Default" and Emby is doing it right. From the mkv wiki: "... Now on to the "forced display" flag, in short "forced". If this is set to "on", this track must be played/shown no matter what the user selected for his preferences or what the player would normally chose to show/play. ..."1 point

I didn't expect that for non-transcoding playback. Too bad. Looking forward to this new feature in future releases because otherwise I really like Emby. Thanks.1 point

If HTTP works for them, they will not even enable this function - it's users who have a problem that are asked to try this alternative method - usually resulting in the problem being resolved. So by removing even the option, you are removing a feature that allows some users to play higher end media. I'm not sure how that can be a good thing for Emby ?1 point

Longtime Subsonic user here who loves his iOS app 'play:Sub'. But Subsonic is abandonware and I have little hope it that Apple's walled garden will see Subsonic die. I've been messing with Plex and the PlexPass only Plexamp almost does it for me. It has a rudimentary equalizer. But it's doing some weird sh!t with my library and so I found my way to Emby. I like it quite a bit, considering. I saw the thread re: music specific app and so +1 for that. But I need that equalizer. It is a must! One time I'll be playing solo instrument chamber music, the next System of a Down. And in between there's no telling! At the beginning of this thread Luke said an equalizer was a "possibility for the future". Any closer than three years ago?1 point

The bad news: you can't import any Plex settings. The good news is that with Emby you can store all custom art and other information within the libraries themselves, meaning that even after a reinstallation most of your settings will seamlessly import again from then on! I "fled" Plex a few months ago when they rendered my Android app unusable and never looked back... Emby is simply the better product right now.1 point
