Ok so my request is to be able to search each library separate as it stands when you search it searches everything, and if like me you have 30k music tracks 10k books/comics 10k episodes and 10k+ movies, searching is slow so is it possible to have a search section for each library individually

Telegram Notifications Plugin for Emby Finally after using it by myself for over 3,5 years and "supporting" it in another Thread https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42912-telegram-notification/ i decided that with the latest Version it would be good to have a destinct Plugin Thread for it. Nope it is not in the Plugin catalog, because there are only plugins by developers which are "willing to fully support it. That means keep it up to date with server versions as well as fix any issues and respond to user help requests." Because of the closed source code of Emby and the lack of Plugin development documentation that is something i cannot ensure. What it does? It simply forwards the Messages of the Emby Notification Framework to a Chat or Channel. Not more, not less. Sorry no fancy posters etc. because the Standard Notifications of Emby dont support it. That could be hacked into, but those things can break easily on every update and i dont want to spend more work on this. How to install? Install the Plugin by downloading the DLL (or build it yourself using VS2019) and putting it into your Emby Plugin folder Restart your Emby Server Talk to @Bodfather with your favorite Telegram Client to create your Telegram Bot Start a chat with your bot (or place it in a channel) and send a message to it Fire up your browser and type the following URL: https://api.telegram.org/bot<BotTokenGoesHere>/getUpdates (without the braces) and find the ChatID Use the Settings Page of the Plugin to set Bot Token and Chat ID Activate the Telegram Notifications Plugin in the desired Server notifications Known Issues? There are no issues with the Plugin itself because it is really simple. The problems are inside the Emby Notification Framework for example if you want to use it to keep your Family and Friends up-to-dat with the newest Additions to your server. For every scan Emby only sends 10x New Media Notifications so if you add 100 Movies you only get the first 10 send to you. That is something that should have been worked on for quite some time but nothing happened. Where to get it? What about adding new option to link calibre to emby as the plugin to link emby to kodi so we can have all our books ready to download via interface of emby .If we want, we can link the calibre libraries to emby, so we can use all the abilities of calibre of conversion and cover fetching etc then display the resultant libraries in emby I think this can be added by one of three ways: 1-Connect to calibre content server 2-use the db file found in every calibre library and read it to present the book without interfacing with calibre at all but using ready made libraries directly 3-parse the opf files of books to create the database of books of Emby

It appears that any playlist that any user creates is public--all other users can see it. I can appreciate the benefit of a public playlist. I could create a playlist called "Harv's Favorite Horror Films" for example, in case other users are interested in checking out what I like. However, the way most of my users are using playlists is to keep track of things they want to watch in the future. They are typically things that the user has not watched yet, so it's not meant as a recommendation to others, just as a way of them personally keeping track of what they want to watch. Having that kind of playlist be public is of questionable benefit to other users. Additionally, it is not clear when you create a playlist that other users will be able to see it. That has the potential to cause some embarrassment. He hasn't created one yet, but I wouldn't want to see my nephew's "movies to fap to" playlist, for example. If I could make a suggestion, I would suggest associating each playlist with the user who created it, and giving that user the ability to make the playlist private or public. For example, the following two checkboxes could be shown when creating or editing a playlist: Allow other users to see this playlist Allow other users to edit this playlist Initially, both checkboxes would be unchecked. Since another user cannot edit a playlist they cannot see, the second would be allowed to be checked only if the first were also checked. (You could grey it out to make that clear.) Depending on your UI preference, it could also be a drop-down menu. Playlist visibility: (Only me | all users can view | all users can view and edit) Thanks for considering this.

I like listening to my music through my roku/emby setup. However, I don't need to know how the artist is while listening. I was wondering if there is some way to set up a virtualization like on windows media player? I can wait and my roku will go to it's screen saver, but I would like to make a choice. Or even display the lyrics on screen, all of my music files have the lyrics embedded.

Emby was working great on my LG tv, today I updated it to v 1.0.31, and when I scroll down or up, the cursor, which selected on movie poster disappear when scroll down, so I can't scroll anymore, I have to press up many times till cursor appear on poster then continue up and down. Is there away to install the older version ?

My HD homerun channel numbers have updated following the Freeview guide number changes ( for example Channel Yesterday was on Channel 26 it is now on Channel 27). The Guide data, I have refreshed several times still has Yesterday on channel 26. This means the channel logos and guide data is not mapped correctly. See attached I can of course change the mapped guide but it should be corrected at source. thanks

Same here. No audio on Emby 4.6.7.0 when watching a ATSC 3.0 TV channel. Plays fine in Windows 11 and Windows 10.

As for a moderator getting involved in the conversation they as Emby users have just as much right to weigh in on the conversation. They just like the rest of us have their own opinion. As for speaking freely I do not see this thread being locked and or removed, do you? NO. As for being divided of course there is going to be division cause there are differing ways that people like to do things. Take per library only search I was only onboard with that till @GrimReaper pointed out that it might be possible to have it both global and local. So again having all viewpoints in a thread is good cause it may get you to see something you did not think of before.

testing with the new beta server that came out today Emby Server 4.7.0.22 beta Emby Android TV 2.0.64 beta Firestick 4k and Shield TV pro ATSC 3.0 will eventually play but HVEC video is being transcoded to H264 and AC-4 audio is being transcoded to AAC stereo. With the stable Android TV client only the audio is transcoded, HVEC should be direct play. it takes quite a while to play as the dashboard reports attempting direct play audio and video for quite some time before switching to transcode. Emby Server 4.7.0.22 beta Emby Android 3.2.36 beta Shield TV pro ATSC 3.0 no audio/video. Direct play is attempted for quite some time, then for a brief moment audio/video play, then playback stops. For finger printing - Yes, it restarts on the next episode where it left off. For Detect, Yes but it will restart the current show 'Season' again - ie it won't start from mid-season as that's not the way it works, but this is probably not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Changing the settings - I've always restarted emby/plugin as it holds these values in an XML - but it may be dynamic - I need to test myself haha Yes 2 on NAS is normally fine - it really depends on how fast your system can process the I/O and create the FP, the faster it can do it, the more data it will demand from the NAS... and on a 1Gig connection, that is likely to become the bottleneck, not the NAS itself, hence 2 seems about right. Thanks for the feedback on these settings - we may be able to tweak these or have 'presets' down the line - but as everybody's systems are different, we went conservative to avoid maxing the systems when running the tasks..

Nobody was rejecting anything, quite the contrary, that was expressing opinions and facts: some users want it - some don't. My very first post was in line with that which would satisfy both sides: make it an option, so noone feels left aside. I don't see any rejection there. I am just a user as any other and I do have my opinions and preferences which I will make clear, them being in line with someone else's or not. Everyone is very welcomed to make suggestions and express their desires - and argument for it, after all - some will agree, some will not. Some suggestions will get accepted, some will not. Fact of life. Deal with it.

I wanted to share my results on a fresh install so far. This process (fresh install) would take about 9 days to finish all together before using the detection default of 2. Also, if I'm not mistaken using a slower detection would help with a more accurate rate. So, I started on 1/25 Episode fingerprinting started on 1/25 @9:20 am and it finished on 1/26 @4:02 pm (The speed on this step seems to have definitely picked up for me) Episode Title Sequence/Chapter both started on 1/26 @4:02pm (Still in progress but at 8.5%) So far so good. I will share the continued and final results soon hopefully. Thank you all again for the hard work.

Thanks so much for the feedback @Spegeli! Okay, I'll see what I can do about the duplicate entries in the series select box. Duplicates are in there because emby has two entries in the library.db for those series. This happens to me as well. I hadn't thought about it being caused by series spanning more then one folder. That's a good catch! The table will show up to five items because we extract images (using ffmpeg) on the fly each time you load the configuration UI (unless you have turned on the image cache option). We use to load the entire season in the table, but ffmpeg has a tendency to go rogue in the system processes, and sometimes it won't exit properly. This will happen when too many instances are loading at once. When we start on the next version (which will integrate heavily with emby chapters), we should be able to go back to loading the entire season. We probabaly won't have to extract images because they will exist as chapter thumbnails already. So yes, eventually, this will happen. Loading the series select with items that have been processed is a good idea. Let's see what we can do when integrate the chapters API. Awesome!

Once you get it settled, would you mind posting a command line with an explanation of what switches do what? I've tried to wrap my head around it and no one can tell me how to encode with AV1. Every time I ask for assistance be it on Doom9 or elsewhere I get hounded by gatekeeping a55holes who say "use this command line and only this command line" and they refuse to tell me why. There is so little documentation for encoding AV1 that it feels like the community just doesn't want it to be adopted. I've gotten into a few arguments with a user called BlueSword? who definitely takes the cake in regards to "if you don't understand what I'm telling you and question it, you're an idiot".

"Just" better programming (probably based around a deeper understanding of the process and the hardware to execute it). As a bit of a one-time whiz programmer myself (decades ago now), I can appreciate how even a modest difference in understanding can lead to a dramatic difference in the resulting programming. Paul

@chef when a series is splittet into multiple folders, it appears multiple times in the drop down, see my screenshot below. i can select any of the both and it shows me the complete serie, so maybe possible to check for name / id of the serie and show it only once in the drop down? and i dont know if its not maybe better to show only series in the drop down which alrdy got a title sequence run? for example if you have 100 series and you have only done a run for maybe 13 series, the other 87 should not appear in the list so we can faster see which serie alrdy got his titel sequence run. maybe you can add a option so ppl can choose if they will see all series in the drop down or only this series / seasons with a titel sequence run alrdy done. and the last think: why does it only show 5 items per page and it is not possible to choose if you want to see 5 / 10 / 25 or all? would be nice if you can add something like that, too. thank you for your attention and sorry for my bad english but i hope you understand what i mean with all the things

Any update on this? Given there are a few freebie reading solutions emby could link into. I can visualise a scenario such as.....get up, put the news on the emby tune in plug in, it finishes, so you then put some music on, via emby and read the paper on your tablet, via emby. Then emby would be a complete solution.

My DS920+ is now unbelievably fast. At first there was not much improvement until I realised that all my artwork and .bif files were inside the media folders. That seemed like a cleaner and more manageable option at the time as I could easily have access to artwork. Once I replaced the artwork, the old files inside media folders were cleaned up. However, video preview .bif files were a pain. It would have taken a month to recreate them all on NAS. So I took a look at the library.db file and made a program that copies the .bif files into the same folder where the corresponding artwork sits. With exception of few files with special character, it all got copied and works. It's amazing how much of an improvement this was. I want to say it should really be mandatory running everything except the media from a decent NVME. Moving transcoding-temp to nvme was also a huge improvement and changing position is instant when watching a transcoded video. I almost want to sign that lego song "Everything is Awesome"!... lol

Still waiting on this and I am sick and tired of waiting for it. I have tried to do the whole s00exxx thing, but some of my shows have oodles of extras in every season (like the clone wars where some seasons have over 30+ extras) so I felt it was easier to do the extras from every season starting at the same hundred it is. So extras from season 01 would be S00ep1xx, season 02 would be s00ep2xx and so on. Problem is, Emby doesn't recognize these (I have no specials folder now) and is still being stupid and trying to merge files together that are named the same even with them being completely different and is taking names from some of the files and putting them as other specials..but STILL no specials or extras folder, but the episodes are on deck. I've already thrown money at a lifetime sub, and I've put a bounty for a proper anime plugin for $100 that no one has taken, and this is needed far more than anything else. How am I supposed to have my media, my way, if the server can't understand what I was told to name my files as... Edit: so after playing around with things, after moving at least 1 file into a self created "Specials" folder, Emby suddenly populated every single special file I had created and put them all in one place, even though they are in their respective seasons, directory wise. A little frustrating for someone who likes to keep things neat and tidy in regards to their physical location, but in the end, everything is watchable, in "order", and I only have to mess up 1 file's location. I can also edit any metadata I need to put files into the seasons themselves if it's an extra like "ep 12.5" or something stupid like a character explanation.

I'm going to add my support for this feature as well. While Extras may be able to go into Specials for most series, cracks start to show with a series like Doctor Who (1963). This series has multiple DVD releases per season each with a handful of features, and each with a multitude of Extras relating specifically to those episodes. One four-episode story may have ten or more extras, with sometimes close to ten stories in a season. It just becomes completely unmanageable. This is compounded with a DVD release like the TV Movie - a special which is listed as S00E60 on the TV database. As it is already a special, there is no way to associate the extras with the episode in Emby. The solution seems obvious to me. Have each episode in its own folder that acts like a Movie folder: Doctor Who (1963)\Season 00\Doctor Who (1963) S00E60\Doctor Who (1963) S00E60.mkv Doctor Who (1963)\Season 00\Doctor Who (1963) S00E60\Extras\Paul McGann Interview.mkv Now on the episodes information page, the extras will be displayed just as they would be in movies. Additionally, you need to be able to be able to add extras to Seasons: Doctor Who (1963)\Season 01\Extras\Theme Music Video.mkv These could be displayed at the bottom of the season. Something like the mockup attached.

Ok - solved, though I'm not 100% why: It's related to ID3 tags, it seems there were some tags in these files which rendered them invalid to the browser for some reason. I noticed that a Linux 'file' command for a broken file yielded: promt> file '01 - Fidgety Feet.flac' 01 - Fidgety Feet.flac: Audio file with ID3 version 2.3.0, unsynchronized frames, contains:FLAC audio bitstream data, 16 bit, stereo, 44.1 kHz, 6396264 sample I opened this file in the picard tag editor, set Options -> Options -> Tags -> Before Tagging: Remove ID3 tags from FLAC files and saved the file. Repeating the Linux file command I now see: promt> file '01 - Fidgety Feet.flac' 01 - Fidgety Feet.flac: FLAC audio bitstream data, 16 bit, stereo, 44.1 kHz, 6396264 sample Now the file plays in the browser (loading via file:///....) and when I placed this back into my emby music library location, it also plays in the browser within the emby app.

I'd like to see BDA support for HDHomeRun tuners as well as that could open up multi-rec making the HDHomeRun OTA tuners even more useful.

Ok, I used some words... but God, you get offended too easily. The point is that the conflict wouldn't exist if the moderator himself didn't create it. Moderator should stay neutral and not involve himself in the discussion. He turned it into an argument, and his argument is simply: "You like it, I dont". How can a forum moderator accept or reject suggestions, aren't there developers and decision makers who read this... We are paying customers and we should be allowed to speak freely. Instead, our ideas are being shut down instantly by forum moderators, and there will always be heroes level 100 who will join discussion to reject any idea for a change, like they have nothing better to do than police the forum. I love the app and I support the development but I wish I have never accessed the forum cause the community is by my opinion very divided. Those who make feature suggestions are met with almost religious resistance, by the staff which than encourages others to join the position of the staff and it turns into battle which OP's usually lose. Anyway I vote for this option to limit search because of everything that's already been said by the poor souls who haven't figured out yet how this place works, so they invest energy to explain the logic behind the suggestion, not knowing that whatever they say or do, will not pass. ...but life should go on so I wish you all good luck.
