  1. Happy holidays, everyone. I'm back again one year later with a slightly different issue: The holiday suggestions list on the main menu (android tv) is 30 items long, and as far as I can tell it is completely static. It's the same 30 items in the same order every time I load the app. The problem is I have quite a few more than 30 items in my Holiday genre. It would be nice to see them take turns on the list each time I start the app if not each time I go to the main menu. Is there a way to force a new list?

  2. Yeah all that does if if they want to repeat the script for another file by selecting yes, that just re-executes the script using the same command variables it was started with (i.e in this case python3 embyfiles.py) without exiting. And i agree totally, i like unique challenges but get bored easily, so i try summin, research it, complete it then move on as i get bored quickly.

  3. Hi, the buttons get hidden at smaller screen sizes. You can still access those functions using the 3-dot More menu.

  5. For the couple issues that have been reported we are working on resolving them, and hopefully in the next week or so we'll be ready to submit a new update to LG. Thanks.

  7. Still on DSM 6 on a DS214Play, so no change there. Anyway, I got it all up and running again with some (extra) work. It's fine again now. Thanks for all your responses here. Happy Christmas!

  9. I just got a 55" Hisense ATV about a month ago and I'm having the same issue. Never had this issue with my Shield TV. It's not something that happens all the time either. It's not just with HEVC either. I've tried playing older videos not converted with HEVC and same problem. Like I said it's intermittent.

  11. Das sieht normal aus, da ich die gleiche Warnung bekomme. Das einzige, was mir einfällt, wären Browsererweiterungen / Add-ons. That looks normal as I get the same warning. Only other thing I can think of would be browser extension/add-ons.

  12. Welcher Browser? Gibt es Browser-Konsolenfehler, wenn sie verschwinden (F12)? Nur wenn ich diese Optionen nicht sehe, handelt es sich um einen Nicht-Administrator. What browser? Are there browser console errors when they disappear (F12)? Only time I do not see those options is on a non admin user.

  13. Oh, I see now... have seen that before, but never used it. Pretty busy with Christmas cooking... Yeah I'm the cook too. So will probably do this on the 26th. But thanks for the info. Now if I can only get TrueNAS Scale to let me log in to Filezilla my life will be complete... Merry Christmas !

  14. Is that using the hdhomerun_config <device id> command with set /sys/restart self I've put that in a batch file to make it easy to use. I have one for each different HDHomeRun I have. Thee are actually a lot of things you can do from the command line with hdhomerun_config program. https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/hdhomerun_config

  15. You could do it now using what i said for the strm file, but build a plugin in emby server to receive the http request and then issue a redirect. A more direct technique to skip the http request is also possible, where you can hook into something and override the path, but would require development from us first.

  16. @simoncraddock I guess it's not fixed yet then. Tagging @Luke for comment. If you have a windows machine on your network, I wrote a little app that will reboot your HDHR which at least would keep from needing to restart Emby.

  17. I'm working on a set of guides to cover multiple ways to work around CGNAT that covers multiple use case to allow the Emby admin to pick the solution best for them or try a couple things to see what works best. The guide will cover everything from these two services to creating/hosting your own tunnel in a cheap cloud instance for roughly $5/month. This gives you a public IP address that any client can use. The public IP in the cloud instance then uses a dedicated tunnel to the Emby Server. Only the Emby Server uses it as all Emby clients and browsers use the public IP address from that point on. You could of course setup ddns or a domain name pointing to that IP address instead of having to know/remember the IP. This would allow you to also cache images in the cloud (depends on storage space) to make it faster for the clients as well. Sounds hard but really isn't especially with step by step directions. Other options include similar tunnel/VPN services you can purchase for $5/month but have limits and require specific software (OpenVPN or SSH) which may be easier than above but not as much features. Might not be as fast either. Then of course, using a typical VPN service like PIA, NordVPN, etc you see advertised all over the net. Trick to this is using a provider that support static IP and/or port forwarding. Lots of downsides to this one IMHO as many sites block VPN addresses, likely worse throughput then having your own tunnel (as above), possibly revolving public IPs requiring DDNS or similar. Then there is the grand daddy solution which does take some time to setup but adds a nice level of security and makes you site faster if done correctly which is setting your server up to run behind Cloudflare using their Argo tunnel service. This requires registering a domain name (all revolves around this), setting up certificates, walking through pages of options to make sure it's set exactly correct, then creating a tunnel using their software which is a 5 part process and making it a service or system startup function so it's always running. I've created step by step directions for the hard part (creating tunnel) and it works great on Windows or Linux but can't run natively on most NAS and I've yet to get it to work in docker. So this is a great solution if things fit but not universal yet. There are 2 other methods as well but the above are the main ones. Some easy and free, some free and complex with a couple easy to do but cost a few bucks a month. Should be something to choose from for everyone with a CGNAT issue. This could also allow for testing multiple options to see what's fastest or best for each person. The cloud instance tunnel is probably the best option of all if a couple bucks a month isn't prohibitive as it can also be setup to proxy all your graphics so the Emby Server doesn't have to send them over and over. Once documented people should be able to follow step by step directions to set this up themselves or get help here in the community. It of course gives a few different options to try to see what's best for specific needs/environments.

  19. I for one want to thank the developers for seeing this through and finally getting an updated version published. It may not be the latest and greatest release as we would all want but could everyone please just stop complaining for a minute and appreciate the update and the fact that Emby did not give up on supporting the platform. Hopefully this also mean that we are going to see further updates down the road that may be little easier to get through the approval process now that LG is more familiar with the application. As for the update, I personally see major improvements. The interface is much more responsive when accessing large collections. DTS transcoding works flawlessly. Recently I started having issues with some of the media files playback that looked like a network throughput not keeping up but it wasn't (other larger / higher bitrate files played perfectly fine) - it appears to be gone. Some small but helpful improvements like a new prompt to delete an episode or the entire folder. Admittedly, my Emby server runs on QNAP so I don't use more advance / premium features and don't have most of the issues people have brought up here. The only peeve I have is the inability to remove the 10 sec nag. I understand it has been removed on other platforms or there is a pay option to remove it (instead of paying for Premium)? I would be more then happy to pay any reasonable one-time amount to have it removed, to support the product development. It's just that it makes no sense to pay for the Premium subscription when this is literally the only feature that would benefit me in my current setup. I'll likely just get the lifetime subscription the next time there is a promotion. Unfortunately I missed the November one. Anyhow, to any administrator that may be reading this... thank you for putting up with us and our sometime testy comments. They were born out of frustration of not seeing any progress for such a long time. I appreciate that you still took time to respond even if those replies were not what we hoped for. It is nice to see that you did not abandon the platform, it often felt that way. We hope to see more progress in the future. Have a wonderful holidays!

  21. I have multiple times in this thread. Even if some users decide not to believe it here are the reasons in a nutshell: They and their testers have no idea what we are or how we are supposed to work. Add a language barrier in many cases to that and getting them to properly test the system is quite difficult. They have so many different models and versions of TVs and OSes it is impossible for us to test each of them, but they do, and any tiny thing they find will cause a rejection They have an onerous approval system where, if your app is rejected 3-5 times, then it will not be re-tested for approval for a period of 3 months. We have been caught in that stupid loop forever it seems.

  23. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. I don't try to code to the very fast moving, un-roadmapped targets that are Emby betas. If you wanted to check the log and share what you see I might be able to provide some insight into what's wrong, but I won't try to fix it until the problem is in a stable release.

  24. Somewhat related to this prior request ( https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44010-emby-theater-external-player-custom-messages-particularly-for-media-stubs-and-tags/ ) it would be nifty and useful to add support for the Kodi Media Stub embedded data, which would then be displayed when a user tries to Play a Media Stub item. From http://kodi.wiki/view/media_stubs <discstub> <title>Alternative Title</title> <message>Message to be displayed</message> </discstub> Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.
