If you are dead set on continuing with WMC as a part of your Emby experience, we suggest you stay on Emby Server 4.6 as it has now become very difficult for us to maintain EMC and future server versions could very well create compatibility issues. Instead, we advise looking into moving to Emby Theater or one of the now very mature streaming platforms (Android, Amazon, etc.). Thanks. Emby Server 4.6.7.2 points

Yarafie took the time to explain IPTV to me. I now understand the advantages of tagging channels. I can also do more testing. Vic2 points

Yes, as stated here: Mixed-content libraries have no option, Folders are default landing page. As for library type change upon upgrade, it has been reported in certain scenarios that it lead to type-change, no need to recreate them, just follow below:2 points

It occurred to me the other day that Emby's Movie and TV libraries treat watched/unwatched indicators in opposite ways. In the TV library, posters display a badge with the number of unwatched episodes on each series poster. No indicator means watched. In the Movie library, posters display a badge with a green checkmark when the movie has been watched. No indicator means unwatched. To summarize: TV: Indicator = UNWATCHED Movie: Indicator = WATCHED It would be great if these libraries could display watched/unwatched status indicators in a consistent manner. Personally I prefer the TV approach, where the indicator corresponds to an unwatched state, as it acts as a flag to draw your attention to something "new". So that would mean no green checkmark on watched movie posters, but instead something like a green star on unwatched movie posters. No change would be needed to the TV library behavior. Thoughts? Am I the only one whose OCD is upset by this?1 point

Tried to play- World Trigger S03E01, using the play next episode button. Did so 3 times on: 2021/12/19 between 10:06 - 10:07 UTC -5. Logs were sent 2021/12/19 10:10 UTC -5 The name of the emby user on the local server is "htpc"1 point

@ebr The issue is still present. Unfortunately for me sideloading the standard Android app results in the movie not being played at all (stuck with the rotating icon when pressing play), while using the Fire TV app works but transcodes. This is a rather major bug for a major platform that has been reported more than a year ago now... I mean come on...1 point

@mbarylskiOnly option I can suggest is creating a test library and moving and/or copying this media to this new library to see if you get the same results.1 point

@Lukewill have to comment but from my tests TVDB v3/v4 plugins do not show missing Specials.1 point

What did you add to Filmes 1? But there is an issue with Filmes 3. 2021-12-18 15:29:16.908 Info LibraryMonitor: Skipping realtime monitor for S:\Filmes 03 because the path does not exist But lots of errors for Filmes 3. If it is empty does removing this library folder, make any difference?1 point

Strictly speaking, the MIME type for CBR files is application/vnd.comicbook-rar, and for CBZ files it's application/vnd.comicbook+zip.1 point

If you aren't having any issues with the current settings and have no issues with performance then call it a day for now.1 point

If you sideload our standard Android app on the device, will it let you move it?1 point

Personally, I would love the ability/function to turn them off completely. In my setup, there's no need for a watch indicator. I don't watch shows via Emby and our film library is for repeated use/viewing. The green circle breaks up the aesthetic, IMHO.1 point

It's close to a release, we just have to fix a couple things, and build a language dictionary.1 point

I want to say that these two changes seem to make my Pi3 run fine for videos and audio streaming. Sometimes I have to force transcoding and then go back to direct play to get video to not be a black screen but that is the only problem I have. A few videos have proven to be to HQ for the Pi to handle without pauses but I'm happy to downrez as my Pi touchscreen is only 800x480.1 point

It could be because they were setup prior to the VPN being in place so they got your true external IP. If they can connect to it they likely don't have to query the Emby Connect backend to see if you have a new IP for the server. The 3rd person likely is trying to connect when you had the VPN is place which is never going to work as the VPN isn't set to forward incoming packet to your Emby Server. The only thing you can do right now to fix this is remove the VPN and restart your server. What VPN provider are you presently using? Depending on the provider I may be able to give you some advise to allow you to keep it in place but not have Emby use it. An alternative setup if you are using other software that you want to run behind a VPN is to go virtual for that software. Hyper-V & Virtual Box on windows will both work for this. You could then install Windows or other OS in the VM with your VPN.1 point

Scott, I also am using a Pi 3 as an Emby client, albeit with the Debian image, and I've found that a few changes in the raspi-config really made a difference. You may have already tried these so I apologize if I'm repeating anything. 1. Increase the GPU memory to 128 or 256. 2. Enable the "Fake KMS" driver. To do this go to Advanced Options, GL Driver, enable "Fake KMS". Note, this may kill HDMI audio, but there is a fix for that. You would have to modify the /boot/config.txt file with the below changes, then selecting the second choice for audio in raspi-config (in my case it was MAI PCM i2s-hifi-0). # uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. This can make audio work in # DMT (computer monitor) modes hdmi_drive=2 hdmi_force_edid_audio=1 Hope this helps.1 point

Here are the current goals for the next release: Enable User Fonts Add New release/Newly Added Time Rule This would allow for showing icons based on when an item was added to a library or release date. Any collection rule option Apply to Folder specifier And to be clear: Work hasn't started on any of these yet. I don't know when the next release will be published. Any given feature might not end up in the next release. The final outcome for a feature could be 'no'.1 point

There is no way to order the version drop down list. Emby tries to guess with version will play the best in the client.1 point

I completely understand that - can't please everyone. But you also can't stand still. I used to rip all my DVDs as VIDEO_TS to preserve the original formats, but now it's all been converted to MKVs because no one supports VIDEO_TS anymore. Including Emby. User-adjustable options are one solution here. It's been a while since I've used Kodi but I seem to recall that they have options for users to select how content is marked as New or Watched in the library view. The default could be the current settings, so people who like the current setup wouldn't be impacted, but the rest of us could make some tweaks. Just a thought.1 point
