J'avais un peu traité le débat ici : Et perso je dispose d'au mois 3 versions de chaque video (sauf les videos perso ou de rares cas)... - 1 version 4k hevc, avec audio en AC3 ou DTS... quelque chose qui puisse être lu en direct par ma TV (le son 5.1 devrait arriver) - 1 version h264 (CRF20) avec audio en AAC-q96 avec normalisation pour la lecture sur PC ou même parfois sur la télé - 1 version vp9 (1800k avec une liste d'options longue comme un jour sans pain) et HE-AAC pour la lecture en déplacement et sur téléphone - parfois1 version VP9 (768k) avec HE-AAC en 720p pour certaines séries ou animes pour les enfants J'ai la chance d'avoir 2 serveurs EMBY : - 1 accessible sur le net avec un débit de 100Mbps sur lequel pour des raisons de place je ne garde que les versions VP9 - 1 à la maison avec les HQ Je fais mes lectures avec l'App Emby sur téléphone et TV, sur navigateur (Chrome) avec mon PC, j'ai aussi 2 FireTV et une FireTV Lite et tout ce petit monde lit parfaitement soit le h264 CRF20 soit le vp9. Et je n'ai jamais de transcodage (sauf parfois du réempaquetage mais c'est rare ...) Le VP9 a l'énorme avantage d'être très bon en compression, mais TRES TRES TRES lent à encoder : 5 heures d'encodage par heure de video sur un Xeon E5-2630 (16x2.4GHz) Espérant avoir aidé.

CW is my primary way to cycle thru TV series and episodes. It works great except for one thing - if I delete the episode after I watch it then the next episode doesn't queue up in CW. I have to keep the watched episode for the next one to show. If I delete the watched episode later the one shown in CW is removed from the queue. Is this by design?

You can sideload the standard Android app on your Android TV device which will give you basically the exact same interface as the LG app. What, exactly, does that mean? The Roku and Android TV are virtually identical now and follow pretty much the same layout as Apple TV too.

I'd love to get a shield or even better, a Sony Google TV. Unfortunately, the emby Devs insist that the horizontal theme is not available or coming to it. Without this theme its dead in the water. LG does support this theme/view. Vertical is OK for tablet and mobile but prefer horizontal for TV. The vertical theme does look OK on the Apple TV client though as the GUI is in proportion properly and animation of library tile movement is good. On Roku its horrible.

I have access to the metadata. The filtering is being done by the Emby Server. I am just using the API to tell Emby what to sort on. Some of the other filters may also work. I just have not had the time to check. All of my time was spent programming Vic

I do like I always did before. I select the episode that Is watched, press the button that is linked to the delete button according to the keymap.xml. it says "delete file from Emby". I select yes and the file is still playable. When I press and hold the ok button I get the Emby options menu, when I select delete from Emby there the file will be deleted. This is with every file, if there is just one episode or when there are multiple episodes present for that tv show.

Thank you for the response. I noticed tonight Emby was transcoding his 4K stream from H.265 to H.264. So I upped my internet connection capacity in Empty and it changed to Direct Play. Then he saw the exact same stuttering issue that I was seeing. So I reverted the config back so he can continue watching and this problem is resolved.

Metadata Refresh is needed. Also, TVDB must be first meta-provider in library settings.

It does that with every item. All items are emby items. kodi.log

So, what I did in Emby is set up a user that only had access to the music library and then log into it on my phone—which I primarily use for streaming music, not videos—with that account. My motivation for doing this, though, is speed/performance. I had previously only used Emby for video content, which worked great, but when I added my music—I have a largish library of over 250,000 songs—performance took a pretty big hit. I'm still not sure why, as I do not see many reports of similar issues, but it is significantly slower than Subsonic. Just having an account have access to part of my library seemed to help somewhat, so I went with that option, though it's not ideal. I still keep Subsonic running simply for when I'm ingesting music—I buy a lot of used CDs since everyone is dumping their collections in favor of streaming services—so when I'm in the store, I can just pull up AVSub and do quicker searches.

Hi, are the songs tagged with both album and albumartist values? That's what you'll need in order to have Albums created.

Can only be done on a per user basis on Home Screen settings. If we get FR: User templates it could be set globally.

I guess time will tell. Yes, I have WHITELISTED selected when trying to enter a single IP address. Fortunately WHITELISTED works when entering a range/mask value.

Looks like the answer is, 107.0.0.0/8 Oddly, if I enter a single IP address, e.g., 107.1.2.3 and my mobile device is using 107.1.2.3, Emby server blocks access to that IP. I don't see anything mentioned about requiring a netmask for a SINGLE IP address in the HELP or the caption below this data field.

Unfortunately no dice. I do see it seems to be detecting a lot of existing movies as new on each scan for some reason. I'll dig into some of those titles to see if anything obvious pops up.

I didn't say that the SHUFFLE button doesn't play the playlist. I stated that the PHYSICAL APPEARANCE of the SHUFFLE button does not VISUALLY CHANGE when you tap it....in either the Android app or web interface.

Hi, you can restore across OS's, but we only suggest restoring users and user data, and nothing more than that. Anything else may contain non-existent folder paths and until you hunt them all down and fix the config options you're going to run into problems because of that.

Ditch your overpowered server, period. You're not going to like the advise, but the amount of power your server uses, unless it's being used for VM's as well, is nothing but a waste. All you need is a modern Intel processor with quicksync. If you want to keep your server, you could also just get an inexpensive laptop or NUC and use that for transcoding, and it will come in far under the price of a video card with today's current market. I personally have an i3-8130u laptop as my Emby transcode box, and it can easily handle 20 1080p transcodes at once, and 2 4k transcodes (I have not tried more as I don't give access to people who need to transcode 4k). There is a nice discussion on doom9 (26 pages) in the HEVC section where it has 5-6 years of hardware encoding, and current consensus is that Intel XE is superior in quality to NVENC, and almost the same speed. TLDR get an inexpensive i3-i5-i7 11th gen laptop for the current "best" experience. You'll not only have a small footprint, but it will use less power than a videocard, and it's actually affordable/attainable.

I can confirm, it is the same issue still - and I also see it on my Mibox 4. Not always, but very often. A few times I've left it on the black screen and eventually after several minutes it would come up so perhaps some timeout or something. I never see it on my tablet or phone clients, so I gotta agree with echoghost here, that it's something specific for the Android TV client. Have you tried to test it?

Would need to go over a specific example and provide the server log for that example. May need to enable Debug logging for this example. Easy test Ensure you have write nfo files enabled Go to any item that does not nfo in media folder select edit metadata and hit save Post that server log but only permissions should prevent saving with media.

I had an Airsonic server, and used Dsub on Android. Good but not what I'm looking for here. I do like the idea of an EMBY standalone. The current music stuff is pretty good, and Dsub was pretty barebones, and a bit convoluted to get connected to the server in settings. At any rate Airsonic is a free branch, off of subsonic some time ago. It gets updates here and there. Dsub on Android does too, but I'm done with that. Emby should stay as is just some way make an standalone app that only loads the music libraries. Music-Emby M-Emby etc.

Hi, It sounds like you might need to look for bottlenecks in your LAN or server if the gaming PC is having trouble with the 4K media assuming it's direct playing. When playing back through the gaming PC on the 4K TV what is the bitrate shown in Stats for Nerds on the client? Does it show it direct playing? How many switches or routers are inline between the Emby server and the Gaming PC when connected this way? If you go through your home router try using a switch instead as your router could be the cause of this issue. Ideally your router has two ethernet connections only. One is the incoming Internet and one from the router to your main switch. No packets touch the router unless they are Internet packets. Those are simple things to check.

Since we are talking about the Collections Library, no there is not really a way to remove once Collections exist. You would first need to disable the option per library to create collections, then delete all already created collections, then there is a way we can remove that library. La qualité d'un film dépend de ton réseau, et plus précisément de ton débit en upload. Il dépendent aussi du débit en download des clients qui vont lire ton film. Le Raspberry PI 4 dispose d'une connexion de 1 Gb/s donc il ne posera pas de problèmes particuliers. Le transcodage se fait essentiellement lorsque le débit de la vidéo est supérieur au débit réseau disponible. Par exemple, si tu propose une vidéo qui a un débit de 20 mb/s et que le client a une connexion limité à 15mb/s, il y aura forcément transcodage. Il en sera de même si tu ne disposes pas suffisamment de débit montant. Donc si tu héberges chez toi, et en fonction de ta connexion internet, mieux vaut proposer des films qui ne dépassent pas 8 mb/s (débit moyen d'une connexion haut débit en France). La fibre n'est pas déployée partout, il y a aussi de la fausse fibre et j'en passe. Sachant que si tu as de la chance d'avoir la fibre orange, ton débit en upload est de 600 mb/s maximum. Ce qui est excellent au passage. Donc je te laisse à tes calculs.

Hi, I'm a big fan for emby server, and I love to fill my metadata with useful information about the content using Tags; I feel it will be much more powerful if Tags can be auto-completed based on previous tag entries. a drop down list also will do a good job. thanks, DaN

What's the fuzz about all this then? That's not even a case worth discussing because there's no concern either way. No need for a ramdisk, no need for a dedicated HD in that case you are describing. Activate throttling and you should be fine. There won't be any relevant impact on your storage, then. That's very true. Your case has nothing to do with those I was describing. If you have fun by using a ram disk instead of a HD that's fine - like all other possible options you have. Yes! Same like us and what I can say is that the goal for transcoding-temp storage will not be about optimizing for low storage memory. You need to expect this to require even more storage space for certain use cases (e.g. TV). What's clear though is that the missing cleanup in certain cases is an incorrect behavior which will be fixed. There are more streaming changes in the pipeline as well...

Would be nice to auto tag from filename. I think it is very useful to have some movie properties that can only generated from Filenames like, Remux, Webrip, WebHD...
