  1. Hey! I have credit sequences skipping While doing so, I found a bug. I'm just going to make sure I can track it back to where the problem starts. Then I can post a dll.

  2. I'd like to request a feature, while browsing the emby server via a browser I'd like to be able to select multi via "ctrl" or "shift," or select all on the videos. The purpose behind this is if I want to mass delete, or mark videos as played/unplayed, etc.

  3. This has always been a bit of a problem. What really needs to happen is Emby stop assisting if the user fills in anything. If left blank all of the rfc1918 are treated local. If the user fills in anything, only what they entered is treated local. That will fix the local VPN server use, as well as Jail and Docker use with different IP ranges. This would even fix the issue that pops up a couple times a year when someone has Emby running in the cloud on a public IP address. It puts the admin in total control of what is and isn't local. Right now the way this is handled isn't correct as a admin may run a local VPN server running in the reserved address space (proper) but want that range of IPs treated as remote users (logical).

  4. Do you have specific examples? An install on a new server would not contain People images as they are in /metadata/people on old machine. Possibly look at the migration plugin if you have your old install. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/98353-migration-plugin Since people have gone from /people to /library back to /people they could be spread out and the migration plugin allows you to consolidate them back to /people. This is a community member created plugins that can break with every server update. But yes, the People Backup plugin currently does not work with 4.6+.

  6. you did a serious step backwards going to Westmere. Just because you have more cores doesn't mean you have more processing power. Sell your server and upgrade to something from Intel with integrated graphics. Look for at least Coffee Lake or higher for HEVC encode and decode in hardware. Heck even just using a modern laptop as your encode box (with all media stored elsewhere) would suffice and get you at least 20 1080p encodes without breaking a sweat.

  7. Hi, Since I am using more and more TMDb, (since tvdb is more and more a mess), I am missing a very important feature. tvdb had the feature of grouping stuff into aired, DVD and absolute, which is supported by emby. TMDb had also this feature. See this example for "La casa de papel" (Money Heist, Haus des Geldes): The Original Order is allways the "aired order" of the original country. "La casa de papel" was originaly released by "Antena 3" and was taken over by Netflix, which results in different episodes ordering, which is a mess. They solved it in episode grouping. This feature is missing from emby, but it's integrated in their API and is allready supported in other apps, like kodi. At least, Banana a TMDb Mod claims it, that it's supported by Kodi: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/71446-la-casa-de-papel/discuss/5e7032d84f9a99001152704f?page=1#5eb76872ca7ec6001f7c53cb Is it possible to add this feature into emby? It is the last scraping feature, I really really miss for TMDb on emby. It adds much flexibility and is overall a much better solution, than on tvdb with their aired, dvd and absolute order. Another great example is Dragonball Super: As you see, it adds much more flexibility for different regions over the world. It's in my own eyes a must have for emby!

  8. When transcoding or direct streaming it currently throttles but it doesn't cleanup during playback so you can have a situation where your using lots of space. Can we have a custom setting to remove the transcoded parts minus 5 minutes of current playback? This would help it large libraries where there are multiple transcodes going on.

  9. The Mult-Select in the Server web app is super-useful (I'm so grateful to those that introduced me to it!). But given that the Server web app has some excellent filtering functions (eg, in my case I make use of filtering by Tags) it would be very handy to have a "Select All" functionality, so that I can filter down to the results I'm looking for and then easily add them to a Collection (or, when eventually we have Bulk Editing abilities, open a Bulk Edit view on all the Selected items). Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.

  10. Can we lock the movie order in a playlist? I want to make a MCU movie sequence, but anyone can change the order in it and i need it to be always the same order.

  11. I'd like to request that the Playlist library have a displayed category and, "widget" on the homescreen in the similar fashion that movies, TV shows, music are shown. I create topical/seasonal playlists that I'd like my family members to see displayed from the homescreen with "recently added" carousel style. Currently, to the best of my knowledge, playlists are only accessible via their shortcut in the, "My Media" section. Thanks for your consideration!

  12. I want to select all movies to mark them as played but it seems that I have to select one movie at a time. Even in multi-movie selection there is no way hold shift to select the first and the last movie. Please add this feature.

  16. Sounds like something is off or configured wrong (could just be the m3u file). What I would suggest is opening a free account at https://m3u4u.com. You don't need to use anything there except the time offset functionality. When you download the m3u file from them it will be adjusted. So you set it up so they pull the file daily and you pull it from them 30 to 60 minutes later. BTW, if you have a lot of channels you would like to remove to get a much cleaner list take advantage of their service to do this as they make it very easy to adjust your files.

  25. In the end there is no way to accommodate how everyone one would like CW/Next Up to work. So, a show you watched last year starts back up it will be behind all the shows you are currently watching do to the "last played/watched" date. CW/Next Up should not be in "Last added episode" order as that would really mess up someone's CW/Next Up. Example "The Witcher S02" is coming out soon but I would not want that to be present before all the current items I am watching and expect to be next up. The CW/Next Up is good in all but there are other views like the Latest rows that will present you with the Latest added items and will reorder Next Up once you start watching Series again.

  27. @cayars > removing the incorrectly named folder that shouldn't be there. Emby should then write the NFO to the proper location. The 'incorrectly named folder' wasn't there in the first place. Emby's refresh apparently creates the folder. Removing it, then refreshing, simply repeated the process ... the .nfo, correctly named, is written to a newly-created incorrectly named folder.

  28. Do you by chance have the server log showing the import of that movies and creating those files? Does moving that movie out of your library and deleting the images and nfo and wrong folder, doing a scan to remove from Emby, then readding the movie replicate your issue? But since you have .actor folder which Emby does not create are you sure Emby is doing this?

  29. I was able to successfully create my own DV profile 8.1 file from yesterday's episode of Hawkeye. Used the RPU from the DV profile 5 HEVC track and integrated it with the HDR10 version then remuxed back in. It takes a bit of time, but for those who have a mixture of DV and non-DV sets it may be another option to keeping two versions of everything.

  32. I see this has been reported many times (including by myself), and also confirmed to be an issue (last example). It is maddening, and tiresome to deal with. It seems much more frequent with a direct stream, however does still occur with a direct play (which is only an option after the recording is finished). I'm more than willing to provide logs and details (and have previously), however just want to know if there's effort to getting this fixed? Yes I know LiveTv is going through a substantial rebuild, so if this is not planned to be fixed by itself and hoping to be fixed with that release, please let me know. In the mean time, I believe forcing a full transcode fixes this issue (not an ideal solution, however neither is skipping back once after skipping commercials), however is there a way to force that on my client without just lowering the bitrate? I have 3 Shields, and this doesn't seem to occur on the two with 2-channel Tv speakers. It happens often and frequently on the one setup with passthrough and hooked to an AV receiver.

  33. It does, but the app is smart enough to play the downloaded version if you play from the 'continue listening' section of the home screen. It's also smart enough to treat episodes played from the 'downloads' area as audiobooks, so they will appear in the 'continue listening' area, when you're done.

  34. AirVPN is good stuff. Just made a setup for a relatively technically-inept friend with AirVPN (paid), Dynu DDNS (free) and Let's Encrypt certificate (free) through Certify the Web (which has Dynu API preset for authorization/DNS validation), which is basically three client apps with no complicated scripts involved. As AirVPN client (Eddie) acts as a TAP adapter it redirects system traffic from your regular network cards to the TAP adapter, which manages the low-level details of your connection, hence Dynu client sees any VPN exit IP change and propagates domain name, no user interaction is needed anymore after initial setup - he's anonymous, secure (all connections go through https) and has NO open ports in his router, as those are not needed due to secure tunnel and AirVPN port forwarding support. All in all is very user-friendly setup which can be done in abt. half an hour to an hour. Thumbs-up. Edit: For those with speed concerns, AirVPN claims no bandwidth limitations, his 200 Mbps connection had 186 Mbps download:

  35. Yes, I've used play:Sub and AVSub is also pretty good and still under active development (last updated on 7/22/2021): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/avsub/id923424694 I will say, though, my impression is the Android apps are seeing more active development. Regardless, the nice things is that there are plenty of options out there and all are unified by the Subsonic API

  37. So just to finish up this thought ... one of the reasons I was confused is the 'poster' in Continue Watching was different that the 'poster' in the library I was watching from, so I totally missed that they were the same as there was no visual connection. Secondly, when I had more than one partially watched program from the same collection (NFL football) when I finished the one that was in Continue Watching, then the next one popped in. I guess I hadn't considered that as the way it would work, but it sorta makes sense. Again, thanks for Emby and the great support!

  39. If you have a decent firewall such as SophosXG or pfSense, you can also do geoblocking at a rule level. This is not something which emby can do - nor would I expect it to, IP filtering should not be done at an application level.

  41. It might be prudent to get a program which will show you the "Smart" data from the disk. This would enable you to decide whether the disk may continue to have (hardwae-based) problems, or if the problem was transient (presumably software initiated, e.g. by an unclean shutdown). Paul

  43. As a technical exercise - this works just fine as ffmpeg can accept multiple input files - you just need to map them accordingly. This is working just fine in emby using an EXTERNAL AC3 file .. (see below for a stripped down ffmpeg transcode log with all the important bits highlighted) But while technically it's easy to do - to accommodate this into Emby as a supported function is a totally different challenge...

  49. Getting your hands on higher upload speeds, or getting your data-caps removed or raised is neigh impossible, or extremely expensive reoccurring cost for vast majority of people, there is no competition in the ISP market you get what you get. Obtaining hardware to transcode HEVC/H265 on the fly in real time, however is possible, feasible, and within a reasonable cost.. Example, my 60yro mother hits her Cox Cable 1TB Data cap streaming off my server, she dont go over much but she goes over consistently enough that i'm paying for her to upgrade to unlimited, costing an extra $50/mo for the last 2 years since I came to this thread.. thats >$1200 spent that woulda built me a pretty badass server instead of giving it to a big bag of Cox. H265 Output is a cost saving feature, plain and simple.. in the long run obtaining a server capable of doing it is far outweighed by the bandwidth costs for many.. I could argue the inverse, how many people dont have servers capable of doing this because its not supported so why invest the money in it when your forced to spend it on datacaps.. or why buy some expensive hardware that is cheap and or obsolete by the time Emby finally implements this.. Nobody is specifically spending the money on this capability because it wont give them any tangible benefit if nothing utilizes it, so might as well stick to cheap old hardware until that changes.
