I feel the following filter & sort options are lacking the following: * filter by HDR * sort by video bitrate * sort by audio bitrate * sort by filesize * filter by subtitle language * filter by audio channels * filter by audio language Anybody have anything they would like to add to this list?

Just want to point out that if you are converting from h.264 content, you would be adding a generation and really not getting anything worthwhile in return, other than a tighter compression. The look of the H264 would be underlying the new h.265 copy. This is hardly ideal. If you are taking from a higher quality master video, which should be probably 4 GB plus for DVD Mpeg or 12 GB for blu-ray or a post production master 2 hour content, then converting the h.265 would actually show the higher contrast and more detail of using this codec. That conversion makes sense. In the post production business if a client asked this service and the originals were same size h.264, I would suggest that they not waste their money and go find higher quality masters to convert. For 3rd party direct playback, the initial reason HEVC was not supported online, was due to a licensing fee of $0.25 per browser installation. I believe Safari and Edge paid this and Edge has since dropped support. I don't think the licensing fee issue has changed. Does someone know? I suppose you can find out online. Initially, the extra cost caused browser to drop support. I think also trying to support other audio playback would make browsers stack larger and AAC was considered good enough for online.

Check ownership and permissions of the cert store. As long as the file is PKCS12 format it doesn't really matter if the extension is p12 or pfx.

Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows

Not sure what the other guys do but there is no where for Emby to get that rating. Emby will not scrape IMDB site. And some what normal for items this new, currently only has 40 votes. But is a little odd as it has been out since 4/9.

Agree 100% with the above. Also remember that any non direct playback will mean extra conversions as any form of hevc streaming is not supported by emby - and I personally don't see this happening any time soon. Also to note - have you calculated the extra cost of the power to do all these conversions, vs just buying extra storage in the first place ?

Loaded Win11 when it came out and noticed a lot more things are rounded now. Not sure what the current Android style guide recommends, but it does seem to be a trend lately. That and a lot of lesser used things got pushed to a more options selection to make the menus look cleaner, though it causes me a lot more clicks when I want to use them.

The issue I have with those devices is most of them don't use native AndroidTV which sooner or later gets you in trouble you then have to work around.

IIRC there was a talk few years back, about that padding between the posters, reducing of which would technically allow for larger posters (without opting for Large image type in settings) - @ebr would have to comment on that - bringing them closer in size to the other apps then. Am just taking of the poster size on Home Screen for example, I compare the look of Android Mobile (Sideloaded), Samsung TV App or Webapp on a TV, this is subjective of course, but I like the look of the other apps better. There is always some margin to improve things for example, the items poster size, you sideload the android mobile app and the posters ironically there take more advantage of the tv screen than the androidtv app. Or the color combination of some themes, when you navigate through various sections like movie details some of them give bad contrast, for example black text over dark gray background for multiversion or tracks selection, very hard to read. Other things like giving the option of using horizontal scrolling with plot details and fanart on hoovering on library items will help, this takes advantage of the widescreen form factor of a tv. Just tossing some ideas here.

Yes I see, you have a serious connection websocket issue with Emby server. Also there is a db issue which could be a result of the connection issue. I don't know what causes the problem, could be config file corruption. Delete next-gen config and reconnect to server.

I reset my whole TV to change the Samsung store to US and get the emby from the store. Later today I'll be install and let you know how it's going on.

So the new update for Apple TV is out and this problem still hasn't been fixed. Emby has either turned a blind eye to it or its gone in the too hard to fix basket. Disappointing.

I used to use the same Fractal design case with a low powered Intel J1900 Celeron integrated on to an ITX motherboard and 6 x 3TB hard drives. I used FreeNas as the operating system and ran Emby in a jail. It did well for a few years but I needed more storage and better transcoding so upgraded. Now I run Truenas 12 core for my storage because I love ZFS as a file system, but I've offloaded the apps I was running in FreeNAS jails to docker containers, as a docker host I use a little mini PC with an Intel Celeron J4125 CPU with Ubuntu server as OS. I hope that you try TrueNAS scale again in the future once it's mature and report back here and let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks not using Emby makes it a bit hard to code. I get it now movies are recorded programs and episodes are recorded programs in their respective views. I was curious about what an episode was. So to close this off yes it works well I can drill down to a like named program (series or movie) and then further to the alternate showings of the specific upcoming episode or movie. Martin

When this happens you can press DOWN on the Roku remote control. It will open the On Screen Display. Find the Cog/Gear and click it this will open Playback Settings. Inside Playback Settings is the Attempt Playback Correction button. Press that once to force a remux which should fix it. If it isn't fixed after pressing Attempt Playback Correction you can press it again to force full transcoding. The audio sync issue is a problem Roku caused since firmware 9.4.x.

IMO that is much more useful as a view/grouping than a filter.
