That is super cool! Man, we did that guys! Congratulations to us all for a good job! Seriously cool stuff there. It is unique to emby, which makes it good, even if we get some imprecise results, the bulk of it is good.3 points

While we wait for the outcome on the real 'Intro Skip' button - the 'Title Sequence' being inserted into the existing chapters is working well. There are a couple of issues still to resolve, but the majority of my test shows had perfect placement of the sequence. Some examples below - 1. 'Title Sequence' added for episodes with 'Real' chapters. Original chapter points are untouched. 2. 'Title Sequence' added for episodes with 'Auto' chapters. Auto chapter points are trimmed accordingly, resorting back to the Original 5 minute chapters after. 3. 'Title Sequence' added late into the show (after Chapter 3).. again, Original chapter points are untouched.3 points

Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows2 points

Hi, yes the cache and meta-data folders will be using that space. What can bloat this is not storing graphics and index files (bif) with the media. This is an option you can set for each and every library. Ongoing Transcodes and Live TV Recordings can also use that space as well. What settings do you have setup for your libs? If you like I could do a remote support session with you and review your settings and help you move some content like possibly transcode folder, DVR, cache, metadata to a different drive. This can be done without needing to reinstall. If you would like to do this send me a PM. Carlo2 points

This appears to be working in v.366 using srt external subs which are now normal size and visible. Tried several of the subtitle options and they appear working also. Thanks2 points

It's mostly correct. It takes the path that was modified and finds the first ancestor parent that exists in the library, and then scans from there.2 points

I fixed the response from the API, so it doesn't return the fingerprint. I created BaseTitleSequence, which is what the API will respond with. It is pretty much the same only with out the Fingerprint, or the encoding duration. I can make an endpoint that responds with the entire object (like it does now) if that is helpful.2 points

I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise1 point

not without a significant re write of the way these two are handled, they were added at different times and thus are not really intended to work hand in hand. I can look at this, I think it is doable with the current design but I would need to look.1 point

Hi, thanks, I found the problem. We'll be getting an update out to resolve this. Thanks for reporting.1 point

so I gave a couple of reasons why. 1) some people want to store the full optical media (say on their nas), i.e. its the "source of truth" and should be able to used as such 2) seamless branching. if I want to have a theatrical and director's cut of a movie that is stored on disc as seamless branching, I have to waste a lot of space if I would remux both of the 3) remux is actually changing the content, in a way that is just suspectible to bugs. i.e. there have been numerous bugs in MakeMKV/mkvtoolnix and the like over the years that have required people to rerip their content. In general they work well, but requiring an extra step that isn't required and can be done dynamically on demand, is in my opinion "better"(tm). with that said, yes, if I were the PM of emby, I'm not sure how much I'd prioritize such a thing, as its a bit of a niche feature (I personally think its valuable for reasons I enumerated, but I think many users wouldn't value it as much, i.e. they are either happy doing things the way they do them, they get media in non disc forms from various sources, so don't care or simply don't value the things I enumerated) I also think users who want menus to be streamed, don't understand the type of software emby/plex/jellyfin are, but that's a different story.1 point

My mom binged all weekend on a tv show that was transcoding, even though I had ripped from our dvd's. It filled the drive. For performance reasons, I would prefer to keep all temp activity on the internal SSD, but not if it's gonna fill the drive. I'll do some testing, and when the next release comes out, I'll put it back to the internal drive. Here's hoping! (I did leave the metadata and logs on default, just moved the cache and transcoding-temp)1 point

Thanks, I must've missed that one, manually copying the directories over now, so it doesn't have to relearn everything (I hope).1 point

The https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/DX517 is a plug and play way of adding 5 bays to many of the synology boxes (not all support it) Its a great way to extend the life of your system if you want more space/drives but not buy another unit.1 point

Don't worry chef mate, just revert everything back and push your commit. I can then create a pull request by adding in all of mine.... I hope, i'm not great with git either. lol you enjoy pulsing that liquidizer and holding their teeth while they eat hahaha. We will get there.... but on a plus note, @rbjtech tested my latest version with the new Title Sequence entry and the intro end removed and it looks like it has worked pretty good. Works with emby's 5min auto inserts and his real chapter information. just need to sort out our code puree and create a dish out of it.1 point

Thanks, yeah making data dirs on the external drive now...1 point

But that topic answers that question. There is no limit for a web browser as long as it does not use Premiere features. Almost all device apps require premiere or unlock per the linked matrix. Your hardware is the limiting factor.1 point

I agree. Just in case, here's some clarification: I was talking in megabytes for my connection, not in megabits. I have a connection with my VPN which is 500 megabit/s. The database is local on my server just some media are stored externally. Anyway I thank you very much for your answers and for the work you do.1 point
-
Just remote connections in general I think. Mine was struggling on a local NAS over a gigabit connection (though admittedly it's a low powered system).1 point

Curious, why would it matter the order the external USB drives start in? They should come up with the same name and drive letter every time. If for some reason this doesn't happen, you may want to check out Stablebit DrivePool. This would allow you to add a drive to the pool and use all 6 drives (plus any internal) as one pool. Drivepool looks at the drive on startup for a "special folder" and if it matches a current pool will auto mount it as part of the pool. So this should solve that problem plus make storage easier as well since you can now use 1 drive pool letter.1 point

I have absolutely no idea what any of that means, but i would imagine that there are lots of points to VPN and Wireguard with encryption and decryption that won't help the process. there is a lot of processing required for the fingerprinting and then the detection and i would say your tunnels to the server are your choke points. 60Mb/s is not fast when reading and writing to memory.1 point
-
Thanks sammy how long is the Big Bang theory intro? I think if it's less than 20secs it's ignored. I had Arrow and The Boys which are about 5 secs long so is not processed during detection. What is your feelings on the accuracy of the detection. As i have stated previously, i'm sure that the encoding is the real issue and not the detection of the plugin that throws inaccuracies.1 point

OK yes that's helpful. There is one change I can make that might help with that. It will be in the next release. Thanks.1 point

Darn I have to go to work! Here is the GetEpisodeTitleSequence return data: { "IndexNumber": 1, "InternalId": 40, "HasSequence": true, "TitleSequenceStart": "PT1M57S", "TitleSequenceEnd": "PT2M27S", "SeriesId": 5, "SeasonId": 29 } I'll have to write a query for a season Result of BaseTitleSequence when I get home. I'll also have to get all sync'd properly in my solution. It shouldn't be to difficult to write the Base for season Data. I wish I could code longer today... Darn!1 point

OK I can see some cases where that would happen. It will be improved for the next release of the server. thanks.1 point

Hi all, Didn't know if i should start a new thread or not but I was wondering if we could get the speed increase to at least 4x? Cheers1 point

The IntroStart time for the button (and IntroEnd) is being got from the Intro dB - not the chapter dB. That is what Luke is alluding to. If emby gets it from the IntrodB (or copies it into a Core dB), then there is no need for an IntroStart chapter. IntroEnd chapter is required only when there is not one already - and even then, it should be optional.1 point

Exact same concept and other topic. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/101617-how-can-i-change-the-name-of-the-text-my-media/&do=findComment&comment=1066676 As they will be section and child dependent. /*Replace Section Header title*/ div.homeSectionsContainer div.section5 div:nth-child(4) div.sectionTitleContainer h2 { text-indent: -9999px; line-height: 0; /* Collapse the original line */ } div.homeSectionsContainer div.section5 div:nth-child(4) div.sectionTitleContainer h2:after { content: "YOUR NEW HEADER"; text-indent: 0; display: block; line-height: initial; /* New content takes up original line height */ } So you will have to look in the browser console (F12) and select your element to see where is actually exist.1 point

Was looking for previous topics but code has changed over time. But this is section dependent. As my code is for My Media in section 2 via User Settings-Home Screen settings /*Replace Section Header title*/ div.homeSectionsContainer div.section1 div.sectionTitleContainer h2 { text-indent: -9999px; line-height: 0; /* Collapse the original line */ } div.homeSectionsContainer div.section1 div.sectionTitleContainer h2:after { content: "Libraries"; text-indent: 0; display: block; line-height: initial; /* New content takes up original line height */ }1 point

Looks like something like this. Only did a quick check so not positive it will remove more then it should. div.itemsContainer div.flex {display: none;}1 point

I agree. We need to have an option to set/generate a field that shows the actual aspect ratio of the movie, not the aspect ratio of the video file. This would allow us with projectors to automatically set the zoom ratio when a movie is starting to play.1 point

really hope emby can support bluray. I use pt sites to download movies, most of which are Blu-ray files instead of mkv files. Kodi and infuse are able to recognize and play the Blu-ray files directly, while Emby can only recognize some of them. Thus if i use emby to manage my movies and make kodi and infuse to connect to emby server, they will not be able to play the blu-ray files.1 point

How can I get started with Emby? Check out our Quick Start Guide. Is there an Emby Wiki? Yes Why aren't all the features I want done already? The Emby team is working as hard and as fast as they can to bring you all of the features that you want.1 point
