  1. Yes we need to look at the platforms that are missing it. Thanks.

  2. Hello guys, As @ebr sugested i deleted the optional network path and that did the trick. I was using NFS to share the folder. I tested several movies and shows and all showed the subs. Thanks for all the help.

  3. My apologies guys, you are correct. It appears temporary TS chunks are written as a single file to the transcode folder, and then moved/copied to the final TV folder, so a w (temp)/r (temp)/w (dvr) as you say @Q-Droid I never saw this when I looked, as IOPS on the SSD were lost in the overall 'noise' on that drive, so it looked as if it were not doing anything. So in summary, a 2nd disk is going to help the OP without doubt - for overall performance, emby running on a SSD, with the transcoding/cache on the SSD will likely eliminate all I/O issues. If possible, a 3rd disk should be used for the DVR final storage location. That way, other disk I/O from other playback (unrelated to TV) will not interfere with I/O of the DVR stream being recorded.

  4. I understand. Watch your transcode folder and start a recording and you will see it being used during the recording process. It will also be writing to the DVR recording folder as well.

  5. You don't have them set-up equally. Enable "Show Pre-Playback Media Selections" in Settings>Playback on your Shield Pro. Enjoy.

  6. Use Server Configuration Backup Plugin, make a backup before deleting user, afterwards make a copy of that backup folder created and store it somewhere safe - so you can restore that user watched status/favorites/history at any time.

  7. Currently the trailer url is not exposed to edit within Emby UI. Only options is to edit the url in the nfo if you write nfo files. If you don't write nfo files you would have to edit the database directly.

  8. Kill the global scan then go to the new library, hover over it for the 3 dot menu and perform a library scan of just that lib. You won't get the progress showing on the dashboard but can see the library percentage change a few times as it scans the new lib. With a smallish library a couple of minutes is likely enough time to wait before you view it.

  9. Is this enabled in the library settings?

  10. With a custom launcher you can forget about adds on shield, firetv, etc. Just a clean interface.

  11. HDR to SDR is done at server when transcoding is required. If transcoding is not required, Nvidia Shield does HDR to SDR at the client side.

  12. Just to add - ensure it's the Shield Pro. I *think* the Shield Tube issues are sorted now, but I'm not 100% - so if you want the best, get the Pro - there are definitely no issues there as I use it frequently as my main 4K / DV / True-HD Atmos / DTS-X Emby Client.

  13. @Happy2Play I think deleting the scheduled task fixed it. The -shm and -wal files disappeared after shutting down and I'm currently running a scan that it isn't cancelling so fingers crossed. I'll leave the run at startup checked in the Dashboard settings. Thanks so very much and I hope I don't ever have to post about this again lol

  14. You might want to watch what Emby does while recording. It creates a single file in the transcoding path for the incoming stream. It also creates a single file in the library directories for the video being recorded. What isn't clear without tracing or seeing the code is whether it's a write/read/write operation, but it's definitely happening. Then if you begin to watch the video while being recorded Emby begins to create the .ts chunks and the .m3u8 file also in the transcoding directory. So you end up with w/r/w for the recording and r/w/w/r for the streaming. A 5400 rpm HDD with low IOPS and sluggish seek might look pretty busy. To the OP, is there AV software interfering with your media I/O? Edit: the above is my experience with US OTA mpeg2 streams. I don't know how h.264 streams from IPTV or tuners with transcoding are handled.

  15. That is do to OMDB not having a RT rating in their database. So there is nothing Emby can do. You have to manually add a Critic Rating value in the metadata manger/edit metadata.

  16. Have you explored your Library settings?

  17. I had better make sure the database is working. Probably get this working very soon. I should forewarn, we'll be swapping ffmpeg on windows machines when we try it out.

  18. Turn on NFO use in the library and make a change to a movie/episode and it will write the NFO. Anything new will get an NFO written. Then you can look and see how the trailer is stored in the NFO. All you have to do is enable the option, select edit metadata and hit save to write the file. But that still will not give you a full picture as it will only populate what the database has. So it really is not possible to see all the field Emby can/will use as they are not written as empty fields.

  19. OK we'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.

  21. I add the season folder so I have these empty items to accommodate upcoming new series, and they fill the Upcoming tab.

  22. Just for reference. As expected, the title sequence for Friends is a bit more than a 30 second skip...

  23. But that image would suggest the wizard has already been run. Can't you login to do any additional configuration? But I guess you could run it again. http://{LANIP}:8096/web/index.html?start=wizard#!/wizard/wizardstart.html

  24. There you go. I reckon you really don't need those Season folders, that's a breeze to scrape.

  25. sorry, was looking at it from my phone, just saw Taken, and made an assumption. Here is a screen shot of my Recorded TV view. But I did some more testing. I had Season folders with a Season.nfo file. When I deleted the season folder with the nfo file in it, the image for Young Sheldon went away.

  26. HI, what version of the iOS app do you have?

  27. Yes it's something we can look at adding. Thanks for the feedback.

  28. Hopefully that speed is from clearing your browser cache. If you delete your Emby cache folders then Emby will work harder for quite a while to rebuild the cache. Emby maintains the cache on it's own as Luke mentioned.

  29. It is, I assume @cayars wanted to quote 2) there. To make it clear: use of nfos is completely optional. If you use them, it can be as a reader, saver or both. Depending on your needs, you will set that up acvordingly. However, ANY change you make is written in db. If you use nfo saver - it will be written there. If you don't - you will not have any backup if you need to restore, you will have to rescrape everything.

  30. I've kind of grown to like this as Emby does show empty folders so you can fix it either by populating the folder with media or just removing the folder if not needed keeping things tidy.

  35. This is a proof of concept plugin, there is currently no skipping functionality. We are hoping to get there at some point.
    1 point
  36. Exactly. Due to specific circumstances, I'm often without internet connection. Theater Desktop won't even start. Loopback or not. Just spinning circle. In any combination. Theater UWP will, given server was online for Premiere check AND it was connected at the same time, you'll be able to run it for few weeks, with our without closing it down. If server is running on cache, and you connect Theater UWP to it without internet connection (and you didn't while Premiere was checked), you will be asked for Premiere subscription - i.e. no playback, no Virtual TV.

  37. Hi. Yes, that would indicate an inability to contact our server (or it is taking a really long time). We should improve that to show an error.
    1 point
  38. Yes this will be overall library configuration, when I rebuild I disable everything so it only needs to read what already exists then enable things after the initial scan. Otherwise a combination of reading and online fetching is done.
    1 point
  39. That depends on one's particular setup. Mine is strictly nfo-driven, i.e. all Emby's internal meta-scrapers disabled, Emby is practically a front-end only with TMM as back-end. Rebuild with all local nfos+artwork+trailers for approx. 4,000 movies/20,000 episodes usually takes under an hour on main server, few hours on portable one.

  41. Those tasks are in the wrong order, so Episode Audio Fingerprinting needs to be run before Detect Episode Title Sequence. In your screenshot, it looks like you didn’t run the Detect Episode Title Sequence task after the fingerprinting process.

  42. @chef Btw, I believe I was wrong in my post yesterday about no longer requiring hamming distances. I hadn't done thorough testing so I wasn't 100% sure that I was reading the binary data correctly, but it turns out that each int in our fingerprint arrays is actually 4 bytes of that .bin file. If I do that, then the numbers line up with what we had before and hamming distances are still needed for the correct result. It still seemed to be working when I was reading a single byte, but that may or may not have been a fluke. Also, I edited the original post on this to correct the information.

  43. Hey look at that! There is a database getting populated there
    1 point
  44. Okay, so early is actually better than late. Because the way this would most likely be implemented is with some sort of small popup on screen that you have to press a button on to execute the actual skip.

  45. Hi again! Below is (from what I can tell) a working proof of concept for the IntroSkip Plugin. Please keep in mind, the initial scheduled task is HUGE! I mean HUGE. You'll have to run the Audio fingerprint task first. It might take upwards of a day to complete. What does it do? It will scan your entire library and take audio snippets of your tv show. The audio snippets are then compared for similarities using chromaprint technology. When similarities are found we consider these TV show title sequences. The Sequences are then marked and saved. The plugin will open an endpoint on your server for Emby clients to request title sequence data. What this doesn't do... This plugin does not actually enable "skip Intro" on any of the Emby clients. Note: higher powered machines may change the max degree of parallelism in the plugin options. This will run the task on more series at once. Please KEEP SETTINGS SANE! Probably don't do more then 8 at a time for high powered computers. Default is 5. I knew a user who ran the scan on 25 series at once... He had a really powerful server... probably don't do that, okay. Last thing, make sure the "Duration of fingerprinted audio" is set to 15 minutes. Sometimes a title sequence doesn't happen right away, like if there are recaps. DOWNLOAD: IntroSkip.zip This proof of concept plugin was created by a lot of really talented community members. So many people put a lot of time into it. A lot of thanks to everyone who had the ideas, and helped build the thing. Have fun if you try it
