  1. @@Luke stated in a previous post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49933-replaygain-music-support/) adding support for this could easily be done for at least the theater client seeing as the player used already supports replaygain. I'm making this feature request in hopes that this support is added, as I have no dev experience myself

  2. As few other people reported, i noticed lately a lot of playback stuttering, probably after the last the update which mentions implementing internal rendering of SSA/PGS/VOBSUB/DVDSUB. After reading on this forum and doing my own testing it seems to be a problem with image format subs particularly since srt and other text based subs (like ASS) don't have this issue for me. It also causes audio sync issues in one show (It's Always Sunny) with DVDSUB. I'm using Nvidia Shield connected to AVR which passthrough the signal to an LG C1. Sent logs via the app on my Nvidia Shield around 1:05 ET, username dnmoka (although it is not a local server) while playing Wonder Woman 1984 4k (Didn't found resolution or hdr to matter) It's very distracting for me and make playback with PGS subs (which is the way i prefer usually) unplayable so hopefully it can get fixed quickly. I also joined the beta in the meantime. Edit: still not fixed in version 2.0.31g Edit: After some more testing, disabling Refresh Rate Switching (which is disabled by default) fixes the issue as long as the Shield is set to 60/59 Hz. If i try to set it to 23.976 (like the movie) the stutter is back. Also it doesn't seem to affect 25/50/60p content after some limited testing.

  3. Keep in mind if you don't use NFO files and have a problem with your database or every have to reload you lose all custom meta-data edits you have ever made as Emby would have not way to reload that info. NFO files are anything but garbage but a backup to your meta-data if you ever need it.

  4. The problem with your subtitles is they are internal (embedded). The audio was not compatible. fmpeg has to direct stream copy and change the container. It is copying every single subtitle into the stream because these are embedded. Literally there are 31 subtitle streams available that ffmpeg is muxing in real time on-the-fly. You can instead have these supplied as external SRT and keep the same subtitles. SRT is just the external form of the internal subrip. Then ffmpeg only has to mux in the subtitle in use at the moment. This doesn't mean you cannot change subtitles with SRT. But SRT only has to contain the playing subtitle while all others remain external. For internal subrip all subtitles must be muxed. That is what was creating the burden is those 31 subtitle streams being muxed in. External SRT has huge benefits and this is just one of them. Edit: I would even go so far to say NEVER allow internal subrip to exist in your media and always extract them to external SRT as soon as you see them and delete the embedded subrip from the media afterwards. If all you use is Emby for media this is the best combination.

  5. When you edit the nfos, the scan should pick-up all the changes you made to that movie/episode/video automatically, even if you change images files on the source it should reflect after the scan.

  8. Hi, Some of us listen to classical music and maintain extensive collections of it. Unfortunately, proper classical music sorting requires different metadata fields than pop music. For example, the composer field is not very important with pop music, but is a big requirement with classical music. Currently, Emby supports a single content type for music, which is tailored for pop music. It has views to list Artists, Album artists, Albums, Songs and Genre. I propose to create a second content type dedicated to classical music. This would be a very coherent move since there already are distinct content types for movies, series, concerts or home movies, even if they all deal with video files. The views of this new content type would better fit classical music: for example, we would be able to list music by composer or by conductor, but not by song as this does not mean anything in classical music. Furthermore, audio metadata support should be improved. Currently, Emby supports the Composer tag. That's great, but not enough to deal properly with a classical music collection. We need to support a bunch of other tags, like the Conductor, Performer and Orchestra tags. Adding support for such tags should not be very difficult, as many of them are part of the official ID3 specifications and already supported by ffprobe. Classical music support is a very important feature for me and some other people. So important that I would even pay to have it added to Emby. If I can help to build it, I would do it very happily. If developers do not wish to add those features, maybe it could be implemented by a 3rd-party plugin. In that case, could someone point me towards some kind of guide or tutorial to get started ? I know C# and .Net but have no idea about how Emby works with plugins, and how to extend the metadata schema. Thanks! Marin.

  9. Not sure if this is the right spot where to request this. .. Nevertheless can we please add the feature for embyserver. Pretty much ro setup a pause timeout limit . so if a user put a video/movie on pause for more than xyz timeout limit would kick them back to the video/movie home page... Thanks Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk

  10. I'd imagine this one will probably be a little to tricky to implement any-time soon Heck I'm not even sure if there's a suitable codec available that's opensource/free to use But it would be a really awesome extension to sync if you could transcode into multiple bitrates and then use adaptive streaming between the emby client and the server to pick the highest quality possible at any given moment. I would think this would be especially useful for mobile clients where the network performance can be all over the shop. I thought i'd suggest it on the off chance it was feasible.

  11. Request that Emby server store Dolby Vision (including profile), Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, HDR10+ (smpte2094) and HLG for appropriate video in the db and use it for display in the media info and track selection sections of movie/episode details screen. This information once in the db can then also be used in numerous other areas like: Mediainfo Cover Art, Stats for Nerds, Distinguishing different DV profiles for hardware support and tone mapping Example Mediainfo app display of HDR10+ ffmpeg patch for HDR10+ https://patchwork.ffmpeg.org/patch/11491/ Related requested that may require DV profile information in order to prevent unneeded TM

  12. I feel the following filter & sort options are lacking the following: * filter by HDR * sort by video bitrate * sort by audio bitrate * sort by filesize * filter by subtitle language * filter by audio channels * filter by audio language Anybody have anything they would like to add to this list?

  13. Currently 4.6 has GENRES menu option going to display a long list of ALBUMS (using the ID3v2 tag name) and this is really not expected as the view as artists can be randomly shown in the list as its done alphabetically by ALBUM name. Can this be changed so that the ARTIST (or ALBUM ARTIST) tag is used as the view please because it makes more sense; its tidier too. When you go into GENRES, you often want to see the ARTISTS or AUTHORS and THEN see the list of work for them such as Albums or Books. Music and Music Video Libraries: ALBUMS are assigned to ARTIST in embedded meta data terms AudioBooks: BOOKS are assigned to AUTHORS. In this case the actual embedded meta data tags are still the same (BOOKS is ALBUMS and AUTHOR is ARTIST) If this change is completed, the result is that when you select a GENRE e.g. 'Rock', you'll then get a list of artists in that genre. When you find the artist you are interested in, and click it, you then get the albums. This is instead of the current alphabetical list of album names resulting in far bigger list to wade through if you have many albums (or books). In this current view, the artist work can be repeated multiple times if they released multiple albums and are all over the place because the sorting is on the album name. NOTE: MUSIC library did used to be like the proposed change until changed in 4.6.x!

  14. My apologies if this has been asked already. Could the Style tag in embedded music metadata be filterable in the Genre area? For example, I could select 'Electronica' within genres, and then a filter option would allow me to filter House, Disco, Trance... This could prevent genre cluttering for large collections

  15. I suggested in a totally different thread a bit ago about possibly adding Discogs as a meta fetcher... https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/79280-duplicate-music-artists-entries-how-to-get-rid-of-them/ That thread has had a few +1 reply posts. As such i figured adding it to the feature requests was the proper way to gauge interest. If you have used MP3tag you should be familiar with Discogs. Its a GREAT alternative to Musicbrainz.

  16. I have my main emby server that has 4 hard drives (all my media), an ssd (OS) & 1 additional drive for storage of pics, files, etc. I also use my old hp pro liant server with windows home server because I added 2 additional hard drives for more storage. The hd drive for the pro liant died today & I was thinking that I can add those 2 hard drives to my main emby server by putting them in the dvd rom slots. My problem is I'm using up all the sata power connectors (6) & am.not sire what to do. I have 2 empty connectors that power perrefials but would I be able to buy adapters that would power the hds? Thanks Dom

  19. Glad it worked out but a database lock would have nothing to do with a reinstall. But the first question would have been what server version were you on as 4.6.4.0 has a fix to prevent it from happening again. Note a Locked database is not a corrupt database, these are two totally different issues covered in the same KB.

  28. I only speak English so don't need any of the other subs I took out all except for 1 sub and it worked without an issue. I also had another movie that shows pixelated from time to time and thought it was a bad copy turns out that it also had a lot of subs I muxed it and left 1 sub only and now it shows flawless multiple subs is really an issue will insure going forward I check all movies and remove unwanted subs.

  29. AFAIR there's a (or at least there was) free tier on v4 as well, don't know the limitations, never had incentive to read, though.
    1 point
  30. Sure, and I agree, but discussing the advantages of v4 over v3 is other topic, am just pointing it for the user as I would suspect he in case of testing would use v3 not v4 at this moment.

  33. I expect they are OS level/Nvidia changes that were slipped in on the quiet - thus needing a factory reset to clear out the old code. Other than the change in buffer size, Emby for Android TV has always worked day 1 for the Pro with 4K Remux files - so I don't believe emby have changed anything for the 'Tube' ?

  38. Yes. There is most certainly a way to show records instead of CD. In fact it would be trivial to layer tracks onto the record and make it appear like a 45 RPM (adapter style) or 33 1/3rd (spindle style) or whatever else. It would be simple to use the album art itself to cut a circle out of. Format it to look identical to a record and layer tracks on it. All on-the-fly from the album art. As long as the album has artwork it would make records. Yep. That would rock. Imagination is key. Yes. There is most certainly a way to spin the record and even throw a record player style look on top with a tone arm and such. The limit is imagination... I believe Kodi has spinning artwork. Kodi is the only application presently that can spin records albeit without a tone arm. I love the record player idea, btw. Having it default by length and throw the appropriate record for the song length onto a record player would rock. Depending on how it is implemented it could be very cool indeed. ^_~ Long live the 45 RPM Adapter!

  39. Good morning Nico1320... Yes this tool was specifically designed for tagging virtualTV channels. It started as a means for teaching myself the Emby APIs. Vic

  40. I have not added liveTV yet because you can't tag the channels. For completeness I am writing a liveTV client. It's low priority because I have other things to do. Did the tool work OK for you for tagging movies and TV series? Vic

  45. Similar to how you can have Emby display missing episodes, I would like a similar feature, but listing missing movies from collections. I.E. If you have "Transformers" and "Transformers 3" in the "Transformers Collection" it would show all movies associated with the collection, with a "missing" tag on the artwork of the missing titles.

  46. I understand that for a library scan only page 1 results are used to minimize traffic, but for the user initiated identify feature all pages should be used even if that means multiple queries.

  47. I think this sort of thing is best left as a plugin, or even better, an external tool that would be separate from Emby.
