Good morning GrimReaper76... If you need to select and tag a group of files for building VirtualTV channels then the attached tool may be of use to you. It uses the Emby API's and is easy to use. It's an HTML file with javascript and jQuery. You will need to edit the HTML to give it your Emby API key and server address. A short word doc is also attached with simple instructions. I use this tool to build and manage all of my channels. I just thought that this might help you. P.S. make sure that the script points to jQuery and JavaScript. Vic emby2.docx emby2.html4 points

Exactly. You always attenuate a signal instead of boosting it if possible. Boosting it digitally is likely to introduce clipping (rounding errors). So, the setting is literally how it reads - 100% volume is full volume. 50% volume is half volume.2 points

Did some further testing, maybe this helps someone on a similar situation. Change the rclone mount parameters to vfs cache mode writes, and the scanning on emby can now pick up all the nfo modifications.2 points

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42240-emby-android-tv-release-notes-beta/ I find it a little disrespectful that a feature has been added in beta to directly address YOUR issue and yet you are unwilling to even test it ?2 points

Local port options are hidden because we have to specify the port numbers in the package manifest in order for the server to be authorized to use them. We can't promise that any other ports will work and it may require workarounds on your part in order to get them to work. But they are only hidden, so if you must change them, you can still do so by editing the server config file. But you may need to research what is required to get it to work after doing so. This applies to not only Synology but some other NAS platforms where we are required to indicate the required port numbers up front at the time of installation, in the package manifest.2 points

But you didn't tested it on the same device, did you? The screenshot of the Android (mobile) app looks like a smartphone which has probably a better chipset than your AndroidTV device.2 points

I wanted a colorful, but minimalist set of Library and Genre icons for when I'm using Emby on Roku, and something that stood out dramatically from the movie posters and thumbs. Here's what I did for the My Media set. Here's my Movie Genres: And the Series Genres RAR file attached with the full set as PNGs, and there is some in the archive not shown above (like Sports and Adult). Enjoy! -Mickey EmbyIcons_v4.rar1 point

I have about 100GB of comic books that I have to shuttle back and forth between skydrive, dropbox, and storage on my tablet. Most comic book files are simply cbr and cbz archives, which are just renamed rar and zip files respectively. I'm not sure how hard it would be to implement, but with the influx of tablets and tablet support for MB, I think a comic book section would be a fantastic addition to MB for centralized control and metadata management. Here's one existing comic book metadata format: http://code.google.com/p/comicbookinfo/1 point

Hi. Can you please add an option in the settings to hide the "Media Info" section? When using emby on my phone, it pretty much takes more then half of the page. On top of that, not having it be showing, it would clean up the page. At least gives us that option to hide it. Thanks.1 point

As I mention in a related post, I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! It would be awesome to extend this functionality to TV Series as well. Specifically to add support for many/all of the same folders supported for Movie Extras, eg, extras specials shorts scenes featurettes behind the scenes deleted scenes interviews trailers As well as any additional folders that get added in the future (eg, hopefully Galleries). Support Placement of "Extras" Folders Within Each Season Folder, Plus A Naming Scheme to Link A Particular Extras Folder with a Specific Episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes): I want to clarify that it would be great if these various "extras" folder types could reside within each Season folder. So for example, within a Season 1 folder we could then have an "Extras" folder, a "Deleted Scenes" folder, a "Featurettes" folder, etc. And furthermore, that we could designate a particular folder to refer to a specific episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes). See more below, particularly why I think this would be so useful: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55915-emby-server-theater-additional-extrasspecial-folder-types-for-tv-series-similar-to-movies/&do=findComment&comment=587195 Thanks for your consideration! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.1 point

It would be nice to have the option of displaying the login screen (who's watching?) when you load up the app while also remembering the login details of accounts logged in before on that device. This way the user is asked who's watching without having to keep putting in their password on that device. Thanks1 point

Covered here also. Can I use my Emby Premiere Key on More than One Server : Emby1 point

Just tried it again and everything is working now. 20 min of troubleshooting and now its back to normal. I even tried to have it email me my key and it would just spin. Oh well thanks Edit: Noticed my PiHole was blocking mb3admin.com and that seemed to be blocking Premier from validating.1 point

I changed the tool to allow for deleting individual tags and I corrected a bug in tagItems object. I will put further changes on the tools topic. Vic emby-tag-tool-01.html1 point

Just an example of how we perceive things differently - I would assume 100% to be as-is, unaltered volume, and lower values dampening it. Curious as to which method is applied.1 point

OK, thanks to @cayars everything is resolved and Emby is working great with DSM 7!! The issues with not being able to get drop down menus working was due to my flight sim joystick / hotas being plugged in, disabled those and right away I could add new users, and drop-downs worked. The issue with the users not carrying over Cayars solved with some technical wizardry! Big THANKYOU @cayars1 point

HI, it's not intentional, but due to the scope of the changes in 4.6 there could be some cases of this happening. What are the content types of the libraries?1 point

Is TVDb wrong? If so, open up an account and you can edit TVDb. That way it's fixed permanently and everyone can take advantage of the fix. I've had some episodes that I've had to add dates to so they show up in Emby.1 point

That is correct. It tries to get the year from whatever internet metadata providers you've enabled on the recordings library.1 point

You can use the same key on multiple servers (I use it for both my Synology and Windows servers), but keep in mind devices are tracked across all servers with that key. The same 10 devices using Premiere features connected to both servers or either of them is still 10 devices. 10 unique devices connected to server A using Premiere features and 10 different devices doing the same on Server B would be 20 devices. Hope that helps.1 point

When I was referring to a database I meant something you built not any Emby Database. Some people will import m3u files, manipulate and filter them, then export them back out. Short of being a programmer/dev that route is out for 99.9% of people. Next easiest would be scripting or very light programming such as being able to read in a text file, write it back out while parsing a line to add a group. Lastly there is downloading the m3u file. Hand editing to remove channels you don't want then adding the groups manually. This is something everyone can do and isn't too bad when you get your list down to a manageable size of 250ish channels. I'd in know way try to manipulate this info once in Emby via script or any programming. The key is to make the changes outside of Emby before it's imported.1 point

@softworkz Can we have your words of wisdom on this?1 point

fantastic work ! @VicMoore so I can now select multiple items and add a tag ! Perhaps the Dev's can use some of your html to add this basic functionality into the core code ps - also thanks to @GrimReaper76 for highlighting. This should most definitely go into the tools section on the forum ! edit - just to comment on a statement on your opening page - you state "Keep in mind that the browser on which this HTML file is running, and the respective Emby server that it references, must both be on the same LAN." - this is technically untrue - as I am running the HTML on my web browser on a different VLAN/subnet to my emby server. Of course I have a f/w rule allowing TCP 8096 any local source > emby server destination (vlan transversal) - thus allowing this html and the normal emby web app to work just fine. So I would just word it to say, this HTML has the same browser requirements as the Emby Web App - and leave it at that.1 point

So tell me a streeam platform that has this movie, so I don't need to download it to watch it, I want a platform to watch it, show me Sunshine 1973 What silly talk, legal or illegal, each person must take care of themselves, you don't need to keep telling anyone if it's illegal or illegal, the community is to help with problems and not to be judge of fate or attitudes of anyone There are no users here who need to be warned of what is legal or illegal, this doesn't make the community grow, it only causes silly and meaningless discussion, just answer and help with problems and don't be judging others, there are no children here to receive these kind of conversations thank you1 point

EVERYONE. Listen up. Cayars is a god among mortals. He was able to remote in, wave his magic wand, and fix all my problems. I'm not sure I can accurately describe what was really wrong except the library was pointing at a place that didn't really exist. I am seriously impressed. Thank you so much.1 point

Thanks Luke. I was thinking they must be hidden deliberately as it all looked too neat for it to be a bug/error. No need for me to change them. Just wanted to verify how they were set when I had the https issue, which is now resolved.1 point

hi, https/SSL will only be available to setup if you have a cert specified. If you had this previously setup, please review those settings as it's possible depending on the location you have the certs stored that the new DSM 7 version couldn't access them. If the above is of no help, let us know and we'll look at other possibilities.1 point

Can you test beta 2.0.31? There's a new setting "Theme Volume" that may help you. BTW % symbol is shown twice in the volume picker (10 %%) I don't know if it's a localization issue.1 point

@eatmykeyboard thanks for creating the feature request. I will let you know when I start developing on support for other library types. I might need you as a test server since I don't have any home made video's :-) @julianb and @Sammy I still didn't find any good way to detect duplicate movies. Some people convert them to a lower bit stream and then I don't have to flag it as duplicate for example. There are some more edge cases that needs to be analysed before I can enable the duplicate check again. I'm currently moving between two places but I'm planning to start working next week.1 point

Agreed - I actually just want the chapter points to start with - bells and whistles can be added later ..1 point

Keep in mind this is a work in progress. The hope is to reduce the amount of duplicate requests and focus the communities input on areas they would like to see improvements.1 point

Yes, it's to reduce clutter. Currently, I'm using the app for Android. When in a movie screen, the "Media Info" just takes too much space. Yes, I'm ignoring it. But why not hide it?. Just throwing out there that in "PLEX" they have a button to show the "More Info" section. So, it colapses to display all that mumble jumble info. Most inspirations are copied from rivals, so maybe take that little nice feature from PLEX playbook and incorporate into Emby?. Thx.1 point
