I would really love this to come back. Personally i find, the layouts super basic, favourite tiles don’t reflect the actual favourites, collections tile is the same, the item details page is not intuitive - yes it functions, but essentially is dull. The “more from” as the first scroller isn’t relevant. Can we place this in a road map, i know we are competing with features in plex right now and that was a big one to get tone mapping in. But if our app look prettier and works better then you are gonna get more in.3 points

If you want to wait until the 4.6.2 release next week it might help. There were some cleanup routines that I had removed that I thought weren't needed anymore. I'll also have them back up on the beta channel tonight.2 points

Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless1 point

The Mult-Select in the Server web app is super-useful (I'm so grateful to those that introduced me to it!). But given that the Server web app has some excellent filtering functions (eg, in my case I make use of filtering by Tags) it would be very handy to have a "Select All" functionality, so that I can filter down to the results I'm looking for and then easily add them to a Collection (or, when eventually we have Bulk Editing abilities, open a Bulk Edit view on all the Selected items). Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.1 point

Some old devices support h265. So the device do direct play But it's lagging. It plays h264 well. If I want to transcode h.265 to 264, I have to decrease the quality lower than the original quality. But I don't want to lower the quality. If original bitrate is 3.4mbps, I set the quality to 3mbps. There is no difference between the two. But when original is 1.4mbps, I have to lower to 1mbps and this is huge difference as I felt. So I want the feature. Forced h.265 to h.264 transcoding without decreasing bitrate1 point

After the update using emby in everyday use it is very very slow and demotivating. My librarysize may be huge (5 GB) and contains a mass of files with ~30 libraries. But the new speed is totally different to 4.5.4, which was not the fastest, but for daily use ok. I think, because everything is tag based now, each procedure requires a database requiry through the whole database. In detail: On the start screen it is impossible to activate "show new media". I lasts minutes till I get the lists. On mobile app it does not load at all, stops after a few lists - maybe timeout. While browsing and navigating to albums, it also takes a long time to see the content of each album. Opening Collection takes a long time, too and so on. What is working fine is browsing in folder view. I hope you will find a solution to speed up the database quiries and/or develop a tool to really cleanup old, unused, wrong entries in the database.1 point

This is what it was!!! I followed your previous suggestion of creating a website shortcut, but chose to "open as window". Now I have this handy separate "application" window complete with my browsers casting abilities. Yay! That isn't how I did it before... but I'm glad to know the proper way now. I would love to use the Emby Theater but I haven't been able to get it to pick up my Google Home devices to cast to. I use Emby on my desktop primarily for music.1 point

You can add any web page to the taskbar if you like. See if this link helps you. https://www.howtogeek.com/656737/how-to-pin-a-website-to-the-windows-10-taskbar-or-start-menu/#:~:text=To pin any website to,click “Pin to Taskbar.”1 point

Some features such as these the browser will only allow when you use the https version of our web app. Of course in order to do that, you'll also need https setup on your emby server as well.1 point

You don't need proxy protocol, you need to pass the headers x-forwarded0for and x-real-ip on to emby. Have you looked at the example config posted here?1 point

Glad I just saw this post... I've noticed the same issue with my Live TV set up. Was scrolling through looking for something to watch and I realized a lot of logos were missing1 point

Okay, yeah, I think that is just an error in that app that will need to be corrected. Thanks for reporting.1 point

I meant that Transfer characteristics has two options, PQ or HLG. I was a bit unclear.1 point

As of now: no. There is static (HDR10) metadata and dynamic metadata (HDR10+, Dolby Vission) and for each case, several variants exist to convey HDR metadata. Not even ffmpeg supports them all, DolbyVision is a work-in-progress, for HDR10+ (Samsung), I'm not sure. The dynamic formats are supposed to be downward compatible to HDR10, but for the static metadata, there are several way as well and also some deviating interpretations of the spec regarding the units of brightness values. It's kind of a jungle and I have some suspicion that the big players are battling about market dominance. I've read the Dolby Vision spec and I really can't see any reasonable explanation for having so many different subvariants for the very same thing, other than confusing the competition. The perceptive quantizer transfer is used with HDR10, not with HLG.1 point

Unfortunately this is really a reason why I am sticking to Plex and plexamp to listen to music. This micro gap is quite irritating...1 point

https://fonts.google.com/icons That is the icon set used in Emby. Do those other SVG match these? Is it just sort of a mirror and same exact icons? The future of course is WebP and SVG, but are we there yet?1 point
-
In the meantime, let's use an observer to take control away from the app loader and inject our own code to show the SVGs. This means loading some side JavaScript. I'll be back!1 point

I'd say it has happened 2-3 times during the last 2 days. It's not on every file, it seems irregular so odd behavior. One thing I forgot in my initial post, for the show I'm watching atm I have 2 qualities available so I'm prompted to select prior playback, unfortunately I can't remember if I was prompted to select prior playback not starting... But I will monitor it.1 point

Hi, logs attached. The internet outage started around 5PM CT on 5/25 and cleared around 12PM on 5/26. Thanks, embyserver.zip1 point

Seeing as this is only (currently) a single user request (and they could use nfo to achieve the same result) - might be worth waiting to see if any others want this as i suspect its going to cause problems1 point

Hello mate, yup theme isn’t gonna happen, basically would require the whole writing of an app. I wish they hadn’t closed down themes for Emby Theatre. got a couple of tweaks to do then I’ll release it for a few testers, to test it’s current functionality and not to request features.1 point

I don't want to state the obvious, but just to rule it out. Are you sure you don't also have the Trakt plugin installed in Kodi.1 point

Immediate ones are: channel logo resizing in GUIDE or CHANNELS. Pasted pic on another thread showing ridiculous sizes of some logos. sticky view for Music library - doesn't honour sticky settings square 'artist' pictures rather than round in the other apps frame rate match on playback - no 23.976/24 in MPV de-interlacing of interlaced content - MPV again can't deinterlace correctly, Native Player does progressive only. embedded SUBRIP/SRT basic subtitle support (especially forced subtitles not working) has issue playing some H264 MP4 with AAC in MPV which doesn't exist in Web App, LG App, Samsung App, ROKU app or Apple Native Player (have samples). Just black screen direct play. Updates to the app often wipe out settings for server URL and login resulting in having to enter them again Scrolling issues on large lists in Music/Music Videos/Movies/TV - when you scroll medium to fast it keeps resetting the list, highly annoying. Reported by quite a few before.1 point

Hi there, yes Emby Server already supports running on an m1 mac. We already have a client in the app store: https://emby.media/emby-theater-macos.html We have basic Siri support and are adding to it with each new update to the macOS app. For widgets, yes, I think that would be a great idea for us to do.1 point

Never noticed those options before. Worked absolutely perfect1 point

Maybe they recently added the redirect or changed it. Hard to say. Both the 4.5 and 4.6 releases support following redirects, but this particular one gets rejected over a security concern. They are actually redirecting an https url to plain http, which is not considered to be a good practice. We're just going to go ahead and allow it though in order to get things working for you.1 point

Alright, I can provide a quick update. As of Server 4.6.1.0 Emby is showing up properly in Bigscreen and I can play content through Bigscreen. The only lingering issue that I can find is that progress is not synced between what is viewed in Bigscreen through DLNA and Emby itself. I tested by watching about 15 minutes of a movie, stopping and waiting 15 minutes, and then checking Emby. It still shows that the particular movie has not been played and it doesn't show an option to resume. If this can be sorted, then Bigscreen will 100% be viable as an option to enjoy Emby content in VR.1 point

Yes, I believe you can only use PCs to play the games on as they need to load external game emulation apps.1 point
-
I appreciate you taking the time to post about this issue. With respect I'd argue that Emby is bigger as a media streaming platform than Synology. Most people that run a Synology NAS are using it to host Emby or Plex. I hope that someone at Bigscreen will take some time to setup an Emby Server and test it out to see what they come up with. It would be awesome to use Emby as the backend for Bigscreen. They do a great job with your environments and features.1 point

HI there, we have not build any specific support for this, although I agree it's a great idea for the future. thanks !1 point
