  1. Part of the problem may well be the "Sxx" folder. It should be "Season xx." While any minor deviation from the "normal" folder structure might work it is not really a set thing. The basic structure should be something like:

  2. This is great. I posted on Vizio Supports facebook page about adding emby to their smartcast and they deleted my post. I told them dont throw BS when I know for a fact the emby guys have an app already developed for your OS. Dunno what the idiots and Vizio are thinking Thought I would give it a shot again but they deleted it lol Sean

  3. Mr. DigitalMedia, You might not have all-knowledge like you portray. I don't download any vids. It doesn't sound smart to have all those subscriptions and not use the services you are paying for, instead ignoring them and stealing stuff. You must be stuck in the basement also since you have all those movies, just from a different source. And, the foul language is not need, I'm sure. Have a good day.

  4. That is exactly the behavior that got Kodi tossed from Amazon. No thank you. I think this discussion has come to a conclusion.

  6. I've recently started having similar issues on two of my older (1st/2nd gen) FireTVs as well as a newer FireTV Stick. I've mostly noticed it with LiveTV Recordings from a HDHomeRun. I created a 53 second recording this evening, and then played it back in Emby on Windows, Browser (Windows/Chrome) and on one of the FireTVs. Playback on both Windows apps was good, but the playback on the FireTV was as described above. Audio started up almost immediately and was pretty much consistent, but the video was very slow to update and was choppy. I had started looking at the server drive and antenna first, but this sounds like a pretty close match to what i'm experiencing as well. I confirmed that the device I tested on tonight does have 2.0.09a. The recording is still in .ts format so, if I understand the process correctly, the server should be doing the transcoding on the way to each player. I've zipped everything up and uploaded the sample to Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wF8GAdlLEXXJ0QP7NhhGGt_14rk0_wQx/view?usp=sharing Hope this helps.

  7. Hi! I had a cable guy come over and he unplugged my mac mini server (10.15.6) without even asking me I rebooted and started Emby again and it comes up with the first-time configuration wizard. $HOME/emby-server still exists and as far as I know, I haven't lost any files. How do I get my Emby server to reattach to my last configuration? I actually have 2 instances of Emby running on 2 different ports (8096, 8097) and interestingly enough, the other server came up just fine. Please let me know if there are any files you need me to check as I have quite a bit of meta-data in my old config!

  8. Is it possible to go back to a version prior to version 2.0.09a? My Fire TV (first Gen) recently auto updated Emby to 2.0.09a and now some content that was working a few days ago is no longer playing properly. I am still spot testing video's to see what works and what no longer works. I have so far found that when playing H.264 mkv video's with EAC3 audio or H.264 mp4's with AC3 audio, the audio starts playing prior to the video and then the video is choppy. I am running Emby server v.4.5.4.0. If I could go back to a release prior to 2.0.09a, I suspect that will correct the issue as I did not have this issue until the recent update. thank you in advance,

  10. Excellent, thank you everyone!! Renaming the season folders from 'Sxx' to 'Season xx' has worked perfectly. I've also renamed all my other TV series with Sxx style subfolders, even though they were displaying their seasons correctly in Emby; better to be safe than sorry. Thanks again

  13. So it is pretty clearly something different in the beta server. Once it's released we'll see if there is a new library to link to.

  16. I'm using Landscape. It has two lines under the picture. One for episode title and one for show name is default. Episode title does show for me as well. It's because it falls back to Listitem.label, which does return the episode title (but not season and episode number as it does all other places). The other line is supposed to be TvShow tile, but it falls back to episode length. The underlying problem though is just that "$INFO[Listitem.TvshowTitle]" and similar does not return anything for episodes in this node. If I edit the skin to show tv show title it says "No information available".

  18. If I'm right I think you might be trying to play back 10 bit HVEC files which isn't going to work well on that tablet only having a Snapdragon 410 processor. To playback 10 bit HEVC with hardware decoding you really need at least a Snapdragon 820.

  19. some little problems.. but ich check this... have to order the premiere package... then its working i think. EMBY Server runs on a HP Proliant Microserver GEN 8, Movies via SMB from Dreambox 7080... Handy App is working fine, Via Browser on PC the same... everything looks good.

  27. Sorry, shot bolt too soon. I tried with my partial postcode - ie first 2 letters and a number only - not the last part. It works fine then. Hopefully a warning to others setting up. Sorry to post. Thanks!

  28. I'm going to have to see if I can find an old 1st gen fire box (not stick) and then see if I can reproduce these issues with that.

  34. hi guys I am very familiar with ubuntu been running this server for well over 10 years, however due to other software requirements (that were running on the old windows box) I went and grabbed an intel NUC (alot more powerful than the 3770 my old box had) with a 1TB nvme SSD that i will put emby on, i have just copied my old windows install across to one of my work stations, and I am now in the processes of setting up the NUC and dragging the old Emby system across to it, will let you know how it all goes, hopefully will be completed in a few hours thanks

  35. I am eager to find the solution for this as well. I have a 1st gen fire TV which has always worked great with EMBY; Now with version 2.0.09a : - Video (like OTA evening news) recorded through Emby from HDHOMERUN Device no longer plays: Audio is solid, but Video updates a single image every 30-90 seconds or so. - Checked the logs and didn't see any errors reported, and no clear problem that I could see. If another set of logs would be helpful, let me know, but I suspect I am having the same trouble as the other folks above. - seems like downloaded videos play just fine but have not confirmed this with all formats.

  36. Yes, that's using HW.

  37. The 4k media is part of the equation, the encoding used for the video is another. HEVC (h.265) is more demanding than h.264 and the older the CPU/GPU the less likely it is to support HEVC encoding/decoding in hardware. Your current CPU may or may not support HEVC while a new one with iGPU like the Xeon you mentioned does. If you pick a video encoded in h.264 from your library and change settings on the client to alter resolution or bitrate it should force transcoding on the server. Then you would know if your config is allowing GPU passthru. If it works and transcodes using the HW accel then the config should be fine and it's a problem with HEVC. If it doesn't work with h.264 then the GPU passthru needs some tweaking.

  41. Tried enabling all those, no change. I also tried 5.2.06 again and all listitem infolabels works great for "next episodes" In 5.2.07 I can get listitem.duration, listitem.size and listitem.path to work, but not listitem.Title, listitem.TVshowTitle, listitem.date etc. Kinda seems like it's the metadata that's not cooperating. listitem.label also for some reason get the episode title, but this one behaves a little bit different from other places as it does not give the season and episode number. As I said this is only for "next episodes", "in progress episodes", "recently added episodes" works great.

  43. Please find a fix for this. I have 5 older firesticks and fire tv's and none of them are able to play mkv's like they used to. The video acts like its playing and I can hear audio, but no video. Sometimes it just stutters uncontrollably as well. I tried playback correction, and turning on and off hardware acceleration. Nothing seems to work. My newer firesticks and the fire cube have no problems after the update. If there is a way to roll back for the older devices, id be happy.

  46. aha - I see what's going on after looking through the log of the new instance. Since my last reboot a few weeks ago, I since installed gh through homebrew and it creates a ~/.config directory if it doesn't exist to store saved credentials. I shut down the server and did the following: cd ~/.config mv emby-server emby-server.new mv ~/emby-server . and restarting worked like a charm. given ~/emby-server is the default, you may wish to put some logic if Emby notices a new ~/.config, perhaps to ask the user if they wish to move their emby root directory into ~/.config This would explain why launchctl didn't boot this instance on startup - it was waiting to be configured. Ok - I'll leave it to your team to figure out how to handle these situations - I'm sure it doesn't happen often - though it did make my heart drop! Probably don't want this to happen too often

  47. It actually organizes all songs by artist, album artist, genre, except for albums. It really affects how music is displayed, because if you go inside an artist, you can't see its albums nor its songs.
