Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows

The monthly price for bigger systems is roughly 150% of the monthly price of Emby Premiere which unlocks numerous features and clients. So using that comparison alone, it's a very steep price. But this is something unique and may not have mass appeal so the devs have to cover costs and dev.

A double play/pause button?! (O_o); ? You mean to support jump to last channel? A new icon just for it. What about all the other behaviors for buttons users want? Where do they fit? We need something like this. A single button known as the "smart button". In settings for playback would be behaviors to apply to this smart button which could be anything. A little icon on the smart button icon could alert you to which behavior that smart button is going to do. In this way you have a programmable button that you can choose what it does. That would satisfy this as well as many others under one nutshell. The same way the Roku has the 1 & 2 buttons you can program with voice commands. The smart button on the OSD could be tailored to the specific behavior you would want. Sound nice?

If these are high bitrate items then it is known that the Shield tube is less capable in that area than either the pro or the legacy models. The former has half the memory of the latter two.

I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).

Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

When setting up a new user I think it would be great if I could copy an existing user. Even better if you could copy certain aspects of a user like views , library access , parental settings

Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)

As I'm transitioning from Volumio and Plex to Emby to centralize my usage to one app, the one thing I'm missing the most is gapless playback. This is particulary annoying when listening to albums like "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. I'm experiencing a buffer of about 1 second in between songs, which really ruins the immersion. Would be awesome if this would be implemented in both the Chromecast, and web player.

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. Request No. 1: Implement Metascore rating for movies, from Metacritic.com, in Emby. OMDb api provides this information. Request No. 2: Also, fix an option in settings to enable or disable a ratings source according to the user's choice.

Feature Request: Have User Groups and all settings applied at the Group Level That way you can just assign users to the appropriate Group and all settings will be inheritated.

It would be great if i could set the server to delete certain shows after a user has watched it. I happen to watch "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report", everyday, and with "News"ish type shows, there is no need to keep the episodes around. So i would like to set MB to auto delete those 2 shows, 3 days after one user has watched it.

Hello, Perhaps I am not the first one to ask this question but it will be very cool if this feature could be implemented. I have 2 servers one at home and the other at work. ( and soon a third one...) So I have a movies library called movies on each server. I would like to see all the movies from a single 'virtual server location' when I use the app (ios or android ) where I will see only one movies library containing movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. It's an aggregation of movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. In fact when a user have multiple servers it will be perfect if another choice in the server list called "all servers" for example appears automatically with a merge of media informations from librairies with the same name on different servers.

Feature Request. A present I have several user accounts setup for family members. When we sit down together to watch a movie we currently log into one account (Mostly mine), so obviously only this account gets the watched status. What happens then is everyone uses my account because there's isn't up-to date and it's "just easier". This results in my account telling me I've watched something when I haven't... I would like the ability to log into my account and select/deselect which other users are present so that when a movie/TV episode is watched together, their watched statuses are updated accordingly? The next time you log in again all other users would have been deselected. It could be implemented so each user account can do this, or only select user accounts can. Even a special "Family" user account, or multiple viewers button as long as everyone's watched status is correct. Even just ticking the users present on the login screen before login into an account.

One of the nice things about MBC is that empty TV folders (after the latest show is deleted) are hidden. This makes Emby look very smart. I know @@ebr wants to get rid of this feature from MBC as he sees that this is better as a server feature that can be applied to all clients. I agree. So what does it take to get this useful feature into the Emby server? I'm hoping that asking nicely is enough, I'm also hoping that enough other users consider this feature useful enough ot include in the server. How about it, @@Luke?

I have noticed there is no way to configure the path used by Auto-boxset pliuging to create folders to hold created collections. Given this is, by default, under the Data folder within the install folder of Media Browser server, and the fact this is on my SDD drive, it would be great if this folder may be overriden to a custom path (the way other folders may be configured via the Control Panel).

While setting up a new device or just searching for the next hiccup it would sometimes be useful to be able to jump to the currently playing media which is shown in the server dashboard. Maybe just by clicking on the image of the active device. ATM now, I have to search for the item in the search field (which sometimes work and sometimes not) or need to manually browse through the library to see the media details.

Hi Guys, I recently moved from Kodi with MySQL for lack of proper multi user management and server side support, I have to say I'm impressed with Emby. Together with the Kodi Plugin it really takes the solution to a whole new level, count me in among the supporters! One feature I would like to see is the ability to recommend movies or shows to other users: I share my Library with close friends and family but it is a big library so they are always calling me to recommend them a movie to watch. It would be really cool if after watching a movie I can click a Recommend button and choose the users I think would like the movie, then it is displayed on their suggested movies at the top with the name of the user who recommended it... Sorry if there is something like this is already there, I am new to the interface and don't fully know it but could not find such feature... Thanks!

hey what I'm really missing is support for audiobooks. Simply saving the resume point for those mp3s would be absolutely enough, no need to fetch metadata etc.

I use Bulk Rename Utility (on Windows): https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/ It's very flexible, and I have used it for this exact job. In this case you need to tell it to delete the old sequence numbers (by position) and simultaneously insert new numbering (from any required starting number). The two have to be simultaneous, otherwise you'll lose the existing episode ordering! Other people use the same, but there are also other similar utilities. Paul

Hmmmm. This is VERY strange. Earlier today - when I posted - I was having the issue I described. Any playlist I created COULD be visible to all users. Not necessarily when they selected "Playlists" but definitely when they selected Add to Playlist. In that scenario all playlists would show up. I have spent the best part of 4 hours trying to get scripts to run automatically when a new playlist is added and append tags with the username to the playlist. Now, I've just come back to it and for some reason no playlists are visible to other users, even though no tags are currently in use. I have no idea what's changed, or what I did. Right now though, it seems to be working as I want it to

Having a bank holiday not working for once.

After wiping DB and choosing native paths from the beginning, it seems to be working fine. So I guess it had to do with me changing from add on, to native path, and back to add on.

@ebr you may be onto something.. I had a second IP/subnet on my server as I replaced my primary router not to long ago. I removed that second IP. I also adjusted my servers IP to be static and gave it a fixed name on my router. To ensure DNS is also set. Rebooted server and retested. This seems to have fixed the issue. Gonna cycle it a few times over the next day or two and see if it pops up. I will update accordingly I appreciate the help.

Always flipping back and forth. Yes during commercials and when the kids want to see something and I want to check on something else or just channel changing. I use it all the time on my other system which I’m scrapping.

For tone mapping results, it's more a competition of algorithms and their implementations rather than vendors. (The only vendor-provided tone mapping is Intel "VAAPI Native Tone Mapping". )

I plan on circle back to this soon. I want to get your plugin to play nice with the Roku and figure out where it is confused and help it. That is what is occur is the logic does not understand what it changes. The fallback occurs on it and that ruins everything. I can dig deeper into this soon as it is important and users are coming up with issues on Roku directly related to this plugin. My thinking is if the plugin works on other platforms the Roku is the problem not the plugin. Don't do anything special just to try to please this creature. Let me see why the thing fails to consume what it is fed first, before you change any recipe to the meal. I will keep at this.

Hello, Sorry for the delay in my reply - been very busy recently. After a while I decided that there must be some kind of corruption in my core Emby instance, so when I recently moved computers and had to setup Emby again I decided to go for a clean slate and not restore from a backup, instead starting from scratch. I'm pleased to confirm the issue, as expected from a new instance on a new computer, is not present. Even with ESET Antivirus installed throughout the Emby installation process (previously thought to be the cause). I am happy to provide my old Emby backup files if you wish to use them to analyse in case it helps others out in the future? Thanks all for your help on this matter.

OK guys great news i was able to fix the problem, I been using 3rd party software such as netdrive and expandrive ect so whenever I wanted to play my content it did play but little did know that it stop so as my last resort I tried google drive the newest version and it allows you to mount your gdrive in your pc locally so I scanned my movies and It worked no more buffering playback is so smooth to the point i could skip through a 80 gig file and it plays like it was locally try it guys you wont regret it.

Someone else will have to comment as I don't do LiveTV/Recording. But if streams are not stopped correctly they could get abandoned in Transcode folder until next server restart. A restart is suppose to clean out the folder, now if that is not happening it would suggest something is holding that folder besides Emby. But in general it is safe to Empty that folder.

I could say the same for the Emby team! It was Unraid and Docker that needed special hand holding. Once that was done, Emby just worked. The hardware immediate showed up and worked without issue. So.... Well done. :)

It's possible for the future.

I would find it useful to be able to select multiple items (eg, multiple videos) at a time in the Metadata Editor and Edit/Add values to them in bulk simultaneously. For example, to be able to select multiple items and add a Tag (or Person, Genre, etc.) to all of the items at the same time. Thanks for considering my request!
