Pro for sure! 'Tube' is a reference to the design of the non-pro one I assume.. This week has been quite the crash course in recent video tech!2 points

LG generally takes about 4-6 weeks to review (which is fine), however, they will fail submissions for the most minor of reasons - for example, imagine a minor defect that only occurs on one model year, that sort of thing. And other times they won't take the time to understand how things work and they'll fail the submission because they think something isn't working. On top of that they also have a policy that after a certain number of consecutive rejections, they will remove your app from the store altogether. So it's that threat that makes it a stressful and delicate process and it is the primary reason why there are sometimes gaps in updates. But I an assure, we are working on it.2 points

I have a large music library. A title or alphabetical search in carplay would be very helpful. Thanks1 point

I believe a nice added feature is to have the ability to timeout partially watched shows automatically. Being able to set an expiration of resume point on titles. My kids love to watch videos but never seem to finish then, so they have a ton of titles that have resume points. What would be a nice addon would be the ability to either set the resume point to expire after X number of days. By default the resume point will be kept indefinitely. Adding in, let's say, "30" will then set all the resume points last set 30 days ago to expire and the resume point data be removed from the title for the user. This should be a global setting that applies to all users in the system. Wording of the feature can be different. Thanks, \ above11 point

As I mention in a related post, I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! It would be awesome to extend this functionality to TV Series as well. Specifically to add support for many/all of the same folders supported for Movie Extras, eg, extras specials shorts scenes featurettes behind the scenes deleted scenes interviews trailers As well as any additional folders that get added in the future (eg, hopefully Galleries). Support Placement of "Extras" Folders Within Each Season Folder, Plus A Naming Scheme to Link A Particular Extras Folder with a Specific Episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes): I want to clarify that it would be great if these various "extras" folder types could reside within each Season folder. So for example, within a Season 1 folder we could then have an "Extras" folder, a "Deleted Scenes" folder, a "Featurettes" folder, etc. And furthermore, that we could designate a particular folder to refer to a specific episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes). See more below, particularly why I think this would be so useful: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55915-emby-server-theater-additional-extrasspecial-folder-types-for-tv-series-similar-to-movies/&do=findComment&comment=587195 Thanks for your consideration! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.1 point

Sorry, I'm generally a noob with emby, I've used it off and on for the last couple of years, but just decided to make the complete switch from Plex, so forgive me if I'm using the wrong terminology. Just wondering if anyone is working on a project to get images from theposterdb. They have a lot of Collection artwork that can't be found anywhere else, and lots of themed artwork within those collections. Would be nice to have an agent that handles the downloading of those. For some reason, I don't seem to get all of the poster artwork from Emby that Plex seems to get, for instance, my Garden of Sinners posters all looked similar in Plex, but there's 2 of them that aren't getting the poster images that Plex seemed to be able to find. So having a single source repository for Poster art would be awesome. I am also having the same issue with my Hana to Hebi Live Action movies, both the ones from the late 70's and early 80's as well as the ones from the Early 2000's. The posters just aren't showing up despite them being matched appropriately.1 point

This will probably need to happen after books are treated as a single item regardless of tracks, but be able to bookmark various spots in the book and jump back to various timestamps. Might need to account for playback speed. Raising concern here for the checklist.1 point
-
I know this has been mentioned but per the instruction to create a new thread for each item, I'm going to err on the side of redundancy solely on the fact that this is the single most important item for us audiobook listeners. Feel free to moderate as needed, I asked for clarification here but didn't receive a response:1 point

Hello Emby family. Would it be possible to stream the Live tv (m3u) over a proxy (vpn) only? So the proxy settings can be implemented only for the Live Tv feature?1 point
-
Well, something I can not reproduce at the moment. I've tried all possible methods I could imagine. Embyconnect, manual server, autodetect server. All of them via WAN & LAN. Only possible issue I can think of, is a timing issue.1 point

For the moment you can try latest stable version 5.1.7 or use a backup with existing login credentials. The logins are very different and I hope it works, but something must be really odd in you setup. Thanks for the log, I already reviewed it.1 point

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to it, it's just something I'd like to do.1 point

Just an update. Both of these files playback in DV now (I think I was just clicking on the wrong file originally): MP4 - Dolby Vision Amaze mp4 test file Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.05.09, BL+RPU MKV - Dolby Amaze file (mkv) Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.05.09, BL+RPU If I understand everything correctly, these both playback on the Sony app because (1), they are profile 5 and (2), they don't have an enhancement layer (which is not even a thing for profile 5 anyway -- according to the spec linked earlier). Looks like I'm about as far as I can go with internal app. on to ordering a Shield I guess!1 point

This just to add me to the list. My issue is I cant login to emby next gen, I type credentials but Sign In button does nothing, no error message. I have sent already last log to quickmic and wait further instructions. I had similar issue 2 days ago & managed to login with a workaround*, but for latest case on hand, the workaround does not let me login *from emby/dashboard/users I created a new user and used those new credentials to login kodi1 point

Not sure why this would be necessary. If the programme entries in the xml file have the correct time and time offset like this Then the client is supposed to adjust in the displayed guide to your local timezone, which Emby definitely does. If the offset is not present, GMT is assumed.1 point

While I don't know how many people "track" this, the narrator of an audio book can have a huge impact on its enjoyment so I think we should plan for it.1 point

In Plex, there is a setting that is equivalent to "Weeks to consider for Continue Watching". This filters the items in Continue Watching by whether the most recent play date was within the specified time limit (e.g. previous 4 weeks). This would be useful to avoid the Continue Watching bar being cluttered with partially watched items from a long time ago. Please could you add this setting to Emby?1 point

I knew this had come up before but didn't realize it was this old!1 point

This reminds me of my mum who thinks SD looks great I have my transcode remote setup at 20Mbps ... And locally is high as possible for my devices that need transcoding. My remote family noticed heaps when I upped it from 8 to 20 and it wasn't placebo effect since I didn't tell them they commented on their own about increase in quality. Of course I'm lucky to have gigabit fibre so can have it that high for remote viewing1 point

Hi, yes this is an idea we've liked for video as well but have never been able to get to it, so this sounds like an opportunity to handle it for both together.1 point
-
Thanks for your reply. I have already solved this problem. The reason I couldn't play videos on Emby was the new edition of Emby didn't install ffmpeg. After I installed ffmpeg using shell, I could play videos normally.1 point

Your movie is an overcompressed, H264 encode. It has no HDR, nothing that makes it better than a 1080p encode. In fact it is bitstarved. You would be better served with a high bitrate 1080p encode, which the original source for this movie has. All you've done is created an oversized turd. If you're going to attempt to shrink something this much, use HEVC of AV1 as they are designed for this use scenario, AVC/H264 is not.1 point

I dunno if we're judging. Math is judging. As @rbjtech noted, what you're proposing is impossible. It sounds like you're happy with your video quality and that's great. That doesn't change the fact that it's much, much lower than the source data. You can't eliminate 90% of the video data plus convert to a less efficient codec and get comparable results. 4K video rips are 50-100Mbps for the video stream in my experience.1 point

Yea coming all with 100 chapters and then drag that m4b into audacity and split based on silence. Voila ravioli.1 point

We'll take a look at this but, for now, if you instead hit the "play" button on your remote on the actual playlist tile (instead of entering the playlist) then you should get the entire thing shuffled.1 point

Hi - Thanks for the offer, but it is technically impossible to compress a 80-90 Mbit HEVC file (which has ~30% better compression than H264 anyway) into a 6Mbit h264 file with comparable quality. Netflix use 15Mbit HEVC for a reason - and even that is poor and shows macroblocks during fast paced action and is not HD Audio. There are entire website and forums dedicated this topic - see doom9. If you are happy with the quality - great - I'm just answering your question about why other people have difficulty streaming 4K remux files as they are choosing to try and playback uncompressed versions of the original UHD disks in all it's professionally authored HDR/Dolby Vision and HD Audio quality/glory - not some bit starved streaming copy or worse.1 point
-
There is a BIG difference between a 4K remux (Source = Raw 4K UHD Disk) and a 4K 'streaming' bitrate. On your phone or a low end small TV, you may not see the difference. On a high end system with proper HD sound - the difference is night and day.1 point

Well I have everything ordered with the exception of the Denon, on back order.....1 point

I have desktop with 10x 3.5" drive. Stablebit scanner reports on avg running temp 37c with side panels on, but 49c without side panels. Normally we would think more open the better, but forced air is better cfm than static. Not sure if its what you meant1 point

Yep, appreciate that but with the spec of this machine - there is no reason to doubt it has enough power. "Quadro P5000|XEON e3-1575 v5|64Gb" As softworks has explained in other threads, as the P5000 is a beast of a h/w transcoding card and with throttling turned off - it will consume all the I/O it can, bringing the system to it's knees in the time it takes to transcode the entire file. Thus my point about ensuring throttling is on to allow the system to 'burst' transcode instead to meet the streaming demand.1 point

I've taken up some web site development as a side job during the pandemic, while all the restaurants are shut down. It is way more monotonous then what I expected. LOL But, I also wrote this. ItemTagEditor.zip Goodness knows its not perfect.1 point

I used SD for years and still use their service until they shut it down: No problems with German EPG data! EPG data is basic for me. I just don't want to install another software to do support for, read another bunch of forum threads to learn how to solve sudden problems when the grabbed pages change and so on and so forth. It just has to work. Maintaining Emby and the underlying hardware and software layer is demanding enough for me.1 point

Hi, we're looking at resolving the first one, and for hauppauge stay tuned for more robust tuner support coming in the near future. For now the current support requires win tv 8.5.1 point
