I cannot think of any reason to have an all songs view for audiobooks. EDIT: I meant in the main library screen. I like @ebr 's Tracks idea because the files are so haphazard out there.2 points

Request No. 1: Implement Metascore rating for movies, from Metacritic.com, in Emby. OMDb api provides this information. Request No. 2: Also, fix an option in settings to enable or disable a ratings source according to the user's choice.1 point

Mostly pertains to m4b but I have seen tags on mp3 files that have time stamps you can jump around in too. Can pm if example needed.1 point

Feature request for Auto Box Sets & the Emby server to show missing collection items / placeholder images for what we don't have that is part of a collection. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/22732-auto-box-sets-show-missing-collection-items/ Thanks, hoping to see it worked out.1 point

Right now there is no scraping for Audiobook content. If a user adds a book to their library, the have to fill out metadata by hand. With that said, it is possible to scrape Audible.com for most types of metadata that are relevant to Audiobooks. This is already implemented by the community for Plex: https://github.com/macr0dev/Audiobooks.bundle Since Emby will officially support Audiobooks, it would be nice to see that implemented here as well.1 point

My EMBY Theater just updated to 3.0.13. I now have no 'Folder View' option for my TV Shows. Instead, it shows 'All' TV shows. This happens on ET installed on my Media center and my Laptop. Server version is 4.5.4.0 and Folders view is selected as default on the server. Folder view is still working in ET for my movies, music albums etc. The problem is only with content Type 'TV Shows'. Folders view for my TV Shows works normally using a browser, so this seems to be an ET 3.0.13 specific issue. Creating a new test shared folder of type TV Shows also has the issue with no Folder option in the views when viewed on ET 3.0.13. A new test folder of type 'Movies' shows the folders view fine on ET 3.0.13. I have reinstalled ET 3.0.13 and the problem persists. Note: I did a complete uninstall removing all trace and then reinstalled.1 point

Currently because Audiobooks are mirrored after the Music category, there is a heading on the Audiobooks page for "Songs". This should either be removed or replaced with a heading that lists chapters. Personally I'm fine with just removing it. However it may be useful to other users to have a master list of chapters. So if listing all chapters would be useful to you, then reply this thread and express your interest.1 point

Adjustable playback speed is already in other library types. Asking to port to Audiobooks (and be consistent per track). Less important but would be nice: - Able to save preferences for playback speed per profile. Mostly wish for audiobooks but it would be nice to choose any of the library types (audiobooks, home movies, mixed content) and set my preferred playback speed for myself.1 point

That is not the case and never has been. The LastDateRefreshed is used. So if a provider hung up on you well the date does not get changed and your server makes the call again. Since this date can be different not every item gets updated at the same time. But sure you can make a feature request to limit what Emby looks at on a automated refresh.1 point

Overall a one in done cover the majority of everything. Of course things are updated but there is no need for anyone to spam getting new info unless there are major changes and that is still user perspective. In theory since Emby gets a entire series metadata from TVDB with every update it would be a matter of reprocessing the entire series. But that is a lot of wasted work the majority of the time. But TVDB is the only provider Emby gets the entire series info in one zip file. Don't know if that will change in TVDB v4 api when the forced user subscription change happens. But once a item is imported/written there is nothing to keep up with. It is now on you unless you enable automatic refreshes every 30/60/90.1 point

Oh, I think I finally understand what are you trying to achieve, and the solution I THINK might work (but will require some manual labor), someone will correct me if I'm wrong: 1) Remove Music Movies path from your Music Video library 2) Either move all movies from there to your Movies folder or leave it as it is, if you like to keep them separated 3) For each music movie, make a strm file 4) Place those strm files inside respective artist folders in your Music Videos folder 5) Rescan1 point

Currently, on the main screen, when you see latest audiobooks it is a random track. Request is to show and be routed to the album screen.1 point

Is this sort of view common for audio book apps? We could just remove it. For music, it is common to have an all songs view. For TV, the all episodes view was really only added as a management screen, and if we were just starting out now I would lean towards not having it at all.1 point

Hi, we'll be getting a 3.0.15 update out to resolve this. Stay tuned to this topic: Thanks.1 point

There is an open feature request to have the remembering of tracks be tied to the series. I would suggest contributing to that.1 point

ok, thanks Probably I can release a new version in the next days with the fixes.1 point

User selection still happens, no password required. I select the user I want to log in as, the login popup closes and I get a notification "Welcome <the-selected-user>" in the top right I just realized: the reason I don't get prompted to enter a password is probably because I disabled the need to enter a password when on the same network as my Emby host device in the Emby settings.1 point

Currently I'm performing tests with python 3.9 on Arch Linux. I fixed the websocket issue, but also experianced this login selection issue.1 point

But that is a huge assumption. The separations may or may not be chapter points. I think, instead, we'd just have to go generic with something like "tracks".1 point

I will add to this by saying for all stream providers I have seen, their guide xml is bare bones and usually doesn't provide the Category tags required for Emby to tell the difference between a movie and a tv show. You can look into apps that specialize in making rich guide xml such as xTeVe and IPTVBoss, or see if your provider has an option for enhanced guide xml itself.1 point

Its funny there is so much talk over this. I bought a lifetime emby subscription over a year ago now. Its well worth the money. There is nothing out there that is free that does what emby does. The closest competition is plex and even there if you want it to do what emby charges for they charge for it as well. The differance is support. The guys here at emby actually provide prompt informative support. Not only that they listen to customer suggestions and i have seen many of the suggestions posted in the suggestions / features thread actually make it into the build. They really dont ask for a lot of money in the grand scheme of things.1 point

Any update on this one..... Quite annoying not seeing my folders view and I have to open a browser on a laptop to find a what I am looking for. Should be a simple tweak to the app I thought to show the additional folder option....? The problem persists in 3.0.14.1 point

Here's an overview about where the parsing is done. ffmpeg parsing is more tolerant regarding video errors and more mature in general. HW Decoder Video Parser QuickSync HW DXVA2/DX11VA ffmpeg Nvidia NVDEC ffmpeg Nvidia CUVID HW VAAPI ffmpeg1 point

yes - ffmpeg via h/w acceleration is less resilient to file errors but that is not necessarily the issue here. If you can post the hwdetect and ffmpeg log, then it will show if there are any conversion errors and if not @softworkz may be able to help why you are getting the screen corruption.1 point

Hi. A lot of modern players use this as it is like you are "scrolling down" on the video. In the case of Roku, though, it is just about the only button available to us.1 point
-
Yes in 4.5 if this has the same musicbrainz id as just Busta Rhymes, then they'll be lumped together as one artist. 4.6 will not do this anymore.1 point
-
Hi. Use the down arrow instead. This was a change we had to make to comply with Roku policy. Thanks.1 point

Hi. Thanks for the kind words but we have no interest in moving to an advertising model. We wish to remain your personal media server. Thanks.1 point

Hi, yes we're looking into it. Thanks for reporting.1 point

Any ETA for this.... my whole mediacenter setup is arranged for folder views and this wasn't a problem until 3.0.131 point
-
Hi, yes the issue is that we're limited to 7 tabs in TV mode, so we're just truncating them off the end. What we need to do is introduce new configuration so that you can order them how you wish and choose the ones that get hidden.1 point

Further to the post above, the issue is also effecting my 'Music' content directory with no 'Folders' option in ET. Content type is 'Music'. Works as expected using a browser.1 point
