The plugin is mostly in a proof of concept phase to show that it’s possible to detect intros automatically fairly well, so the data currently isn’t really used by anything. Eventually, I think the goal would be to have a Netflix-like “skip intro” button, but that’s not something a plugin can add and would require work by the Emby team to add it into clients. Perhaps chapters is doable in the meantime, but there are only a few clients that let you skip chapters during playback. Hopefully, as @chef improves the plugin, we can get to a point where it works well enough to get implemented natively by Emby.

This is available in the current beta release on the Shield. There is a new button on the toolbar where you can select the tags to filter by in the guide.

If you change the settings to encode a longer section of the stream it will pick up GOT. Try setting the stream a couple minutes longer then default. Remove the current false intro detect, and run the task again.

There is a post somewhere on the fourm called: custom css. I'd t have round actor images anymore, and I can't remember where the code was. I'll see if I can find it.

This is a simple one line script to highlight duplicate files - By NAME How to use the script Very briefly - I am assuming you know how to run a PS Script - if you dont Google it. Run this script from the root of say your movies directory via the powershell console window (not the Powershell ISE if using PS5) - script is recursive so will find all movies It may take a few seconds or minutes to look through all directories - depending on the number of files and speed of the pc. File types searched for mkv, mp4, avi and ts - but if necessary you can add others It will produce a txt file called ... drum roll ...Duplicates.txt - the file will be located in the same location as the script file and will get overwritten with each run. If the file is empty after the script completes - then no duplicates found - otherwise it will contain the duplicate movies (by name) example output of a duplicate with a duplicate "count" will be 2 or higher etc - "Group" will attempt to list the paths to each duplicate but if you have many files it will get truncated eventually. If like me you have numerous extras - some are likely to be named the same - e.g. Behind the Scenes - so you will get false positives. I have not filtered the search to exclude trailers, extras directories as you could have genuine duplicates there or misplaced files etc but it can easily be done. After customizing my Emby Server via CSS, I decided to take a risk in customizing the APK for Android Mobile and Android TV. The customizations I managed to perform were: I changed the LOGO on the Android Icon (list of Apps); I changed the icon's name (list of Apps); I changed the internal LOGOS; In the initial configuration - I removed some texts (including the buttons) in the App to prevent the user from accessing via "Emby Connect". It happens that there is always a friend or family member who disconnects or unintentionally removes the IP from the server and then finds it difficult to log in again (in this case I have to access it, remove it or even go to the friend's house to reconfigure the IP). I would like to know in which file (inside the uncapped APK) I can insert the IP of my server for whenever I perform a new installation or when what I mentioned above happens, the user does not have the trouble of inserting the IP and PORT (in this in case he would just enter the username and password). The idea is that whenever you install the APK, Emby already asks for the User and Password only, as the IP of my local server will already be configured in the APP.

Trying to make a decision based on the format of the track can be fraught with errors (there is no guarantee that the track is even the main audio - could be commentary, etc.). Instead, we provide an option to always play the track marked within the file as "default" regardless of language. So, if you turn that on, and then mark the track you want as default, then that is what will play.

Have you actually checked that the metadata providers have that genre specified for the movies you expect? Paul

If Refresh Metadata>Replace all metadata doesn't fill those Noir genres, I reckon no plugin will, you'll have to add them manually.

here: IntroSkip.zip It should be mentioned that the new version of emby will use ffmpeg to detect intros. So things will change again. If you install this, please be aware that it is still in it's infancy. It saves data in the plugin configuration folder which is not ideal, and will most likely change in the future. If you aren't sure about how the inner workings of emby folder structures are laid out, I would probably skip trying this out.

My advice would be to create a TEST emby instance with just a few TV shows - as there is no way to tell it what to scan at the moment !... Very impressive ! I've only tested on a couple of shows and episodes - The 100 and Game of Thrones. For the 2nd episode in GoT, it didn't pick up the intro, but did on the others and the intro is definitely there. Do you want any logs/media file or is this expected at this stage with this beta ?

I just setup nvidia encoding in my home kubernetes and it was easier than it was getting it working on a desktop, install gpu-operator via helm.. wait a few moments and it self installed drivers on all nodes that had the hardware, then I edited my emby workload to use a gpu resource and that was it. I deployed a database cluster backend much the same way, few simple commands and full highly available setup deployed across nodes thats self healing.. Before K8's this used to the the stuff that took a ton of time to spin up and made no sense for anyone to do at home for anything personal. Much of the desire here with container orchestration is it scales nicely and once you got a highly available setup going, deploying highly available workloads into it is a piece of cake.. and it makes creating a HA setup with common off the shelf hardware feasible for the home workloads like emby.. Its not so much the performance aspect for me as any one of my nodes is more than enough, its that moving to a home video solution like Emby has put great demands on me to keep it up and online because the very moment it dont work someone's here at my door complaining about it.. so some automated self healing love spread behind my existing load balancers and nodes would be very much appreciated here.. it takes time to detect a problem and spin up new instances, or roll out new changes/upgrades, Ive got to stay up late at night to keep the impact to a minimum when in a K8's cluster I could roll it out w/out interrupting anyone. my media is already hosted on NFS server, and mounted to the emby container as read only.. I've got multiple nodes capable of running an emby instance on every node. Its not uncommon for the home lab to have a database server provisioned and tuned specifically for performance. I think a common audience here is power users, someone saw enough justification to add in LDAP auth support to Emby then there is plenty of demand for a generic database backend IMO. Let us mad scientists cookup whatever creations in our basements that we want, and few will complain about code licensing.

I think you can only do that per-User basis, and is system-wide, i.e. applies to all Libraries. Settable in your User Settings>Playback tab.

Not sure as your sortnames are slightly different. Was thinking difference in stable vs beta, but I get the same results on both. Not sure if @Luke has any other ideas why the difference in name and sortname compared to mine.

The Wav container can hold PCM, but also other compressed formats - it is not a PCM-only thing, except by common assumption. In the case of DTS, I have often used Minnetonka's Surcode DTS encoder to generate Wav files containing multi-channel DTS which can then be used with video to make a DVD or (if 44.1kHz) burned to CD for surround music, which DVD players, at least, are perfectly happy with.. Software players can also recognise the format and play it correctly. Paul

Hi. This is related to how playback is being stopped (or, actually, not stopped) on that particular device. Either the person just turned off the TV and let the Roku keep playing indefinitely or they used the "home" button on the remote while TV was playing which then killed our app without any opportunity to tell the server to stop streaming. We're working on improving the server-side detection of this situation but, in the mean time, the best thing to do would be to be sure and actually stop playback of any live TV on the device by backing out of it before either turning off the TV or exiting the application. It's very doable. It's just a question of what we think the demand for this is compared to other features. Given enough demand there's no reason we can't do this.

Yes, sorry. If the season has two episodes with the same intro, they will be detected. This goes for any other intro in that season which is the same or similar. If an episode has a unique style of intro, it will not be detected because it won't match anything else in the season. Wanda vision for instance doesn't repeat an intro ever. This means that although it has episode intros they can not be detected, and would have to be manually edited. The series you mentioned has different intros, and some repeating ones. Anything repeated in the season will be (most likely) detected. The issue I experienced with the Mandalorian was that there was an intro, then a recap, and finally the chapter intro. The detection algorithm mis recognized some. Hence an editor was needed. Depending on how things move forward (with the newest versions of ffmpeg in the server has chromaprint capability) we can spend time on the editor and perhaps try and show thumb images for more then one detected intro point in a stream (it might make editing the data easier). Of course that's if we get the band back together, and we can figure out how to return more then the first intro detection. I'm testing the new ffmpeg and the algorithm tonight to get things working in the plugins scheduled task. If that it easy, then we can work on the config page and editor.

I'd love to see this implemented as well. Home screen rows should be configurable based on the available filters for each library with the ability to add multiple rows.

Using chroma printing technology, you can encode a snipit of audio from an episode (10 min). Each episode in a season is chromaprinted. We use seasons because some series change their intros per season. Once the print is taken, we take one print from an episode, and slide it over another, until they align, and we match the print. This tells us that the audio is comparable. This is the intro for both episodes. We take the timestamp for the stream and make that data available as an endpoint in the Emby api. Each episode in a season is compared with every other episode until the algorithm is able to make a match.
