I talked with sualfred. He mentioned, he'll update the skin. Be patient...5 points

Sure it does. And it renames them "Specials" (see my example above); and it merges them with other specials. If you want to separate Specials and Extras (maybe separating out special episodes, commentary videos, and things like clean openings) Emby won't let you unless you get imaginative with folder naming, which works because at present it just shows you folders it doesn't recognise - at least we should be thankful that it doesn't supress them. It looks like we currently read it but don't write it. We'll add it as part of the 4.6 release. Thanks.2 points

It could rotate or something, like in the theater Of coarse it would have to be able to be turned off I suppose for people who don't like the idea.1 point

Now for the embarrassing part - I'm always falling asleep watching something - then have a complete mind blank what i was watching the next day until the next episode is out and i realise im missing something. Would it be possible to add a 'recently watched' section where you can see all items you've recently viewed in order? Probably more applicable to TV I guess,1 point

I would love the option to store Emby's database in MySQL - I have a setup that serves around 30 people and I feel that there would be real performance gains by using a proper relational backend over SQLite (I'm presuming). On top of this it would make life easier for me when reporting on watched status a cross users.1 point

Making this official now: Can we find a way of either reading already created playlists eg for WMP or iTunes or import those playlists into MB.1 point

Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows1 point

Here are two gifs you can replace in the dashboard, instead of having a static emby logo for the loading screen. .app-splash { background-image: url(modules/themes/logoAnimated.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: cover; position: absolute top: 0; left: 0; width:100%; height: 100%; }1 point

Emby Server 4.5.4 is currently rolling out to address a few small issues with the previous release. Here are the highlights: Fix regression in 4.5.3 causing slow browsing and search performance in certain situations Fix regression in 4.5.2 causing incorrect items to be queued to conversion tasks Fix Nvidia HEVC level detection1 point

@LunchBolero Hi, maybe this will help you (this is, how it worked for me) I activated the remote connection I choosed the .p12 certificate I created with my .crt and .key files through openssl (those are self made certificates for internal use only) I added the corresponding password For external domain I entered my internal ip address to the server, because I have only the ip address Just in case I changed the ssl port for external connections to a different one I restarted the server and tested the connection: https://myinternalip:myhttpsportinternal It worked for me, so I disabled remote access, then I did a server reboot and it was still working. Maybe not all steps above are needed, but I had no time to play around. BR, Drahreg1 point

I can confirm that parity check destroys any playback. It does not matter how powerful your machine is, parity check will bring everything to its knees. I can barely browse my UNRAID server when it's doing a parity check let alone watch something haha. E5-2670 16GB of ram with 124TB of space.1 point

FWIW I agree 100% with this. Saw a few related posts and I can't believe the Emby team would be doing anything other than biting off Danny's hand to have a pro consult on their graphics. For free. Just about all media centres are flawed by the lack of prof graphic design consultancy, it's nuts to pass up his offer. As a starter for 10, I would love to see these tweaks rolled out uniformly to all apps/clients with only minor tweaks for usability. Consistency massively helps usability and surely a consistent design is easier to maintain from a dev perspective too? I like the play icon and lower weight emby text in the first screen shot btw. Hate to say it but I agree with comments in other posts that the current logo and text looks cheap (it's as if costco released a media centre ).1 point

I ended up resolving my issue by uninstalling emby and installing the new version. Should have read the instructions more carefully.1 point

Right but we've never claimed to support it either. That's essentiality like saying that every feature we haven't built yet is broken.1 point
-
Yup use it myself - Ctrl PgUp and Ctrl PgDown on keyframes and it's very quick to remove commercials - great output options too.1 point

Yes, you are right. This feature is still not optimized yet. I removed the artwork on purpose for the moment. Otherwise it's awful slow, even more as it is right now. This part of the code requires also a complete redesign. It's on my list. Currently I'm focusing on sync issues and other core issues. (and minor subtitle problems)1 point

excellent news, thanks for letting me know! I don't have any plans to move to matrix until the stable build is released, so I'm in no rush, but I've gotten the wife and kids so used to the skin, I was dreading potentially having to move to another skin once the update actually happened.1 point

Let's look at this from a value-added perspective. Sure many of the things you do provide value over a file-browser view, we understand, and that's why we use Emby; but what is the added value in taking two folders with different names, which the user presumably set up that way for a reason - for example: Specials and Extras - and combining the contents which the user had deliberately separated? You can bypass the tvheadend plugin in emby and load your tvheadend into the iptv area of emby to see if the logos and everything else works for you. I am guessing your friend is using his tvheadend with port 9981 open for remote connections ? Here is how you load both the channels and epg from your buds tvheadend server. Do the same for the TV Guide data in emby except put your tvheadends epg link in http://your.IP.here:9981/xmltv/channels Your logos should load fine after that in emby.1 point

I'm just happy this is now working as it was quite bizarre. I normally do not spend any where near as much time on remote as we did but we do what's needed. It didn't help how slow the connection between us was. To me the screen updates reminded me of 56K modems as I could watch the screen repaint. Ironically while remote was slow, Emby Theater on my side could direct play movies from your server. Go figure!1 point

It's like 5 bucks. If you don't think Luke and company deserve your support, then I am sure they will be happy to see you go and be ignored. Plex forums are famous for issues not being resolved and also for the silence of the dev team. Luke and everyone on the Emby team are EXTREMELY active in the support section, far more than any dev team I have ever seen.1 point

Maybe you might have better luck trying another program? I usually join movies parts using AVIDemux. You open the first file, then append the second and then save the results. I typically use this program to quickly edit DVR recordings to remove commercials. It's old, not the slickest UI but works quite well.1 point

Does the ceton tuners support BDA? If so and you have this on your OS then in the Next Version of Live TV (one in dev) the tuner should be directly supported.1 point

Hey quickmic Initial playbacks are fine very smooth and quick no bugs so far. Including the play random addon. Quick question: what happened to the emby options in the context menu on items? For example, if i wanted to add a show to emby favourites before i would go to context menu, select emby add to favourites. All those emby context menu items are now gone. I also remember a setting to control which context menu items would appear which was configurable in the emby add on settings but can't find them now. Otherwise going well so far1 point

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !1 point
-
It's not foundational or it would be in Emby already. If somethings not broke and you want additional functionality in Emby (regardless of reason) then the traditional way to do this is via feature request. Nothing special is being asked except to create a feature request and describe the functionality.1 point

Hi. It is impossible for us to answer questions of hypothetical inputs and targets because there could be any number of possibilities. Our current beta of the app should be handling DV properly for displays that support it. The next version should not allow DV to be sent to a display that won't support DV at all. At this time, the only information Android gives us is "does this display support Dolby Vision". It does not go into specific profiles so fine tuning this will be a process of figuring out how to best handle each situation in the real world.1 point
-
Okay, so that explains it. The issue is that, if we were to remove that code, then none of our other apps would know what language it was which could make it very hard to select.1 point

... I picked up a Sonos One SL (the one without the microphone, for the paranoid) and it works really well with the DLNA plugin. Exactly what I was looking for, playing from my Emby library without the hassle of another app - I needed the Sonos app for setup, but I can play from the Emby web app or android app. However, it seems from other discussion threads the Sonos plugin only works if Emby server is running on Windows though? Not really an issue for me since the DLNA plugin seems to work fine anyway, but I'm updating this thread for reference in case anyone else finds it in a search. @canada99I'm not sure about delay, I mean I'm not sure how to measure whether the delay is better or worse than bluetooth. If you have anything you want me to test, I can try.1 point

It is possible if you are prepared to break away from the naming rules and use folder names which Emby doesn't understand - and also accept that the result may be broken in future updates: The order remains with Seasons at the end, because Emby recognises "Season" and does that with it; replacing the word "Season" might also be possible, but you'd probably lose season-specific metadata - I haven't tried that, though. Similarly it is possible to put episodes in the "wrong" season folders if the numbering on TVDB is completely nonsensical, In this example, half the series is put into specials by TVDB and most of the rest is combined in seasons as broadcast, when naming the separate stories makes more sense: Paul1 point

Yeah, guess there's no way around it. Thanks for your help guys! Maybe someday, if I'm bored enough, I'll check if Handbrake or Vidcoder can be passed commands and started from the console as well. Than I could write a small Powershell script that analyses the source files and passes the values to the SW so that you don't have to do this by yourself. As of now, I'll setup some presets and do everything manually. So far I have discovered 8 movies and 2 TV-Shows which would need about 4-5 different presets. That's just not enough to write a script for :)1 point

Hoffentlich muss ichn kein Eis drauflegen. Danke nochmals es funktioniert alles Super. Mit freundlichen Grüßen1 point

Please don't run that SQL as it will wipe out all images for everything and not just actors. Use what Happy2Play posted which is UPDATE MediaItems SET Images = NULL WHERE type=23 AND Images LIKE 'https://image.tmdb.org%'; That will only wipe actor images from tmdb.org so that only those images need to be reloaded. The database to edit is library.db1 point
