Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)

I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! I would like to propose an additional folder: "Galleries". Within the Galleries folder the user would place subfolders (only one level of nesting) and each subfolder could contain any images the user chooses. Then, Emby would display the subfolder name as an Extra (in Emby Theater) and opening that extra would launch an image gallery of the containing images. For example: Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Scrapbook Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Film Facts "Scrapbook" is what would be listed among other Extras in Emby Theater, and the Scrapbook folder contains various images to be displayed in a slideshow that the user can navigate with their left/right arrows. This feature request is motivated by the following related post: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55912-video-ts-folder-no-longer-recognized-in-movie-extras-folder/ Basically, sometimes there are extras such as image galleries and text content which are only available via the DVD menu. I have found that I can use FFMPEG to extract all the frames from a video file, and so use that on the appropriate VOB file from the original DVD. Then I can use VisiPics to delete all the duplicates, resulting in content I can then sort into folders (eg, Concept Art, Storyboards, etc.). All I need is for there to be the above support for a Galleries extras folder, which could contain multiple subfolders (only one level deep), each containing images to be displayed as image galleries in Emby Theater, etc. Thanks for your consideration! It seems to me that Emby has progressively removed features over the years. I discovered recently that I can no longer view my movies by Studio (this seems to be a recent change). Viewing by Actor was removed quite some time ago (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/26944-missing-a-menu-option/). Can these features please be re-implemented? And can y'all PLEASE put in the changelog when a feature has been disabled or removed so that the end user can determine if upgrading will remove functionality previously depended on? Thx!

I sometimes enter my movie library with the desire to watch a movie but no real idea about what movie I would like to watch. Currently I can browse from a-z or z-a or by date added or by genre or by date released or maybe a few other choices but that means I am limited to seeing my movies in just a few orders and I see the same movies first in each sort every time. While that may seem like a good variety it really limits browsing and also means that some movies are always late in the browse. I have a library of well over 3000 movies and it sometimes takes a long time to find a movie to watch. What I would like to have is the option to present the movies in a random order that is different each time I browse. That way movies that I usually do not get to browse might show up earlier. I do NOT want random play I just want to be able to choose to browse my movies in a random order. I would really like this on the Roku client but I believe if it were implemented at the server then it would be easier for the clients to implement it.

Ok so under that error I do not see a url, I do see the program NextPVR which is not on my computer. I removed it awhile back. I have removed the plugin from Emby and searched and deleted any residual files from that application (I hope). Will see what happens. Thanks.

Currently yes any users can create and delete or remove a item from a collection. This will change in 4.6+. Could your movies path of changed from when the movie was added to the collection? Have you verified the movie path is correct in the collection.xml?

So, I have a work around for this. I set it back to Aired Date order and renamed all the files changing the initial E01 and E02 to E01-Part1 and E01-Part2, the splitting it apart in the UI, and then renaming the rest down an episode. This doesn't really fix the problem that the DVD order functionality isn't working right, but at least everything is viewable now.

Before the change in name, when I select a menu from the smart shortcut all the submenu attributed to that particular node, will automatically appeared, such as newly added, Unwatched, watched in progress etc as it's listed in E4K are listed. So, I think there is additional script in the skin that need to be change fir the submenu to display. Thanks for looking into this.

Just to be clear, most people do not even need to use Emby Connect, because they have one server and can access it directly. Starting with Emby Connect rather than concentrating on the Server itself is what generates the perpetual confusion that we see - and people thinking it's like Plex.. Paul

This should be resolved in 4.6.0.10+ as you will have a true folder view for Music.

Hi, Update: just for anyone who is interested and having the same problem, I resolved the problem for good !, and the solution was "CHANGE THE ROUTER" I was using "Huawei EchoLife HG8245Q2" Router, as soon as i change it with "linksys" router the problem is gone!. Strange problem indeed, i was not able to understand why Huawei EchoLife HG8245Q2 router is causing this issue. Regards, Mohammednt0

This does not work for all Samsung TV. For example my 2017 Tizen TV will not install any new version of an USB-installed App unless it is completely deleted. Which of course also deletes all settings.

Hi, there's no problem at all. It's normal for third party apps that are not installed via the QNAP store.

Last build from yesterday was working fine, then today a got a message that E4K was auto-updated, then the system stalled. After a reboot, my whole SD card was fried. Probably more related to the cold boot in crash state than the E4K update, but that's just how it is. Will get a new SD card next week and then I will test some more.

This is resolved in the next release of the LG App, just waiting for it to be approved and released by LG. The TV won't be able to play these DTS tracks so the server will automatically convert the audio on the fly, but for 4K movies and other high bitrate content, the result may not provide smooth playback in which case embedding your own AC3 tracks is a better option.

Yup and Schedules Direct is an organization created by several developers of MythTV software which all had to do with Zap2it Labs was killing off the free service at time, So as part of agreement the all the 3rd software using Schedules Direct EPG they must be commercial free software with TV/DVR part using the EPG and yes it was TMS.

Looks like something is holding onto the Emby system folder. You'll need to reboot your PC to fix this. If afterwards you still can't login on the ATV app, then I would suggest uninstalling it, rebooting the device and then re-installing it. You'll have to change any settings you had previously. Let us know how it goes.

I have tried combinations of commands from this post, but the best I have managed is adding another 5. 1 track. I would prefer to end up with just a 5.1 and stereo track.

In current beta 4.6.0.10 no. It is in the the next beta release in group testing right now.

it would be better to do one for photo.nfo's - check first if one exists emby is very limited for metadata editing - i.e. one at a time - so external programs would be much better anyway

Specials in continue watching/next up will be supported in Emby Server 4.6.
