@Abobadr shouldn't there be a forum setting to restrict a new user to just so many posts in the first day? Someone just created an account and immediately spammed every section of the forum (28 spam messages from what his user account says).4 points

Request that Emby server store Dolby Vision (including profile), Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, HDR10+ (smpte2094) and HLG for appropriate video in the db and use it for display in the media info and track selection sections of movie/episode details screen. This information once in the db can then also be used in numerous other areas like: Mediainfo Cover Art, Stats for Nerds, Distinguishing different DV profiles for hardware support and tone mapping Example Mediainfo app display of HDR10+ ffmpeg patch for HDR10+ https://patchwork.ffmpeg.org/patch/11491/ Related requested that may require DV profile information in order to prevent unneeded TM3 points

Emby Server 4.5.3 is currently rolling out. Here are the highlights. New Search Experience New search for mobile and desktop layouts. Improvements over previous search: There's now a Top Results section which provides a truly global search, something we didn't have before You can see all the different types of items that matched the search, and filter by type The type categories are now ordered by search relevance, whereas previously they were just hard-coded Mobile version: Download Subtitles During Video Playback There's a new search for subtitles option in the subtitles menu of the video player: Click that and you'll get the subtitle search dialog that you're already accustomed to: Select one to download and the dialog will close, and your new subtitles will show up immediately and also embedded into the subtitle menu: Add to Playlists and Collections with Drag and Drop This should make adding to collections and playlists a little more fun. You'll notice that collections and playlists are now in the sidebar: If you pin the sidebar to make it always visible, now you can drag and drop content to add them to your collections and playlists: You can drag just about anything, from posters, to list items, to individual text links such as the artist name underneath a song: And this will add everything for that artist. This should help make building your holiday playlists and collections more fun than ever, and it all works with touch input as well. Add to Play Queue with Drag and Drop Just drag something onto the now playing bar such as a poster: As soon as you hover over, you'll see this: But you can drag logs of other things too, such as list items: Or even text links from posters or list items. For example, drag the whole item to queue that item, or drag one of the text links to queue the artist, album, etc.: And most important of all, it works with touch input. Other Improvements Support clicking individual text items in list items Support add to play queue with drag and drop Support add to playlists and collections with drag and drop Add profile checking for MP2Video hardware decoders Improve subtitle track selection when always show subtitles is selected Prevent ffmpeg hw processing of 10bit when device doesn't support it Add Nvidia NVDEC decoder variant for HEVC VAAPI: Use color formats from detection Improve detail screen backdrop display Reduce messaging from server to android and iOS apps causing the app background processes to run Show songs on artist detail screen Support downloading subtitles during video playback Update same time recording threshold to 15 minutes Improve ability of other devices to discover emby server New search interface for mobile and desktop Add top results section to search Improve searching for songs using album name Expand artist split whitelist Add http version to server log Bug Fixes Fix play all/shuffle on collections comprised of folders Various fixes for codec level detection Fix interlaced video being incorrectly stream copied with HLS Fix remote play of playlists being sorted by name Fix webp image support not being used in certain cases Fix repeated subtitle downloads of .sub format Fix undefined dlna display name Fix channel logos intermittently disappearing while scrolling the guide in Firefox Fix incorrect iOS scroll after cancelling context menu Fix artists added to collections not showing2 points

Feature request for Auto Box Sets & the Emby server to show missing collection items / placeholder images for what we don't have that is part of a collection. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/22732-auto-box-sets-show-missing-collection-items/ Thanks, hoping to see it worked out.1 point

I've been waiting for this! And Peter Jackson did it right! Perfectly done, with consistency.1 point

I really don't know how it works so maybe just ignore me. But I was thinking there shouldn't be a difference between a playlist created by that plugin vs one manually created on the server. If you don't get the movie dupe problem with normal playlists then you shouldn't get them with the trakt playlist unless it's doing something incorrectly. I would compare the two playlists (system vs trakt).1 point

Can confirm this is working great on AppleTV running Kodi 19 beta 1.1 point

Well I'll be... that did it. Hard power cycle for that outlet is a breaker. Deleted the app. Breaker off. Count to 30. Breaker on. Reinstall app. Set server with PIN. Turn TV off. Turn TV on. AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT TO SERVER! Woo!1 point

@cayars Much appreciated. I moved from Plex to Emby, because Emby just works ! Very happy to help in any way, the product is good !1 point

yes i logged on and found them all over the forums - i reported it as spam so could have been avoided i wonder what good idea we could come up with to limit a spammers impact ...... oh wait1 point

Ah ok, so I'll stick with the Android nonTV version by now which is really a much better experience with the modified exoplayer. It does not link the watching content to the AndroidTV's main screen, but it's a good workaround until the ATV version gets the same player. Thanks!1 point

No forum core settings for that, but I could modify the settings for 0-2 posts new group members or whatever, but ... I will only work on this when the main dev's personal @Luke and @ebr see the need for this. I saw the reports today, and totally agree with you all about this. PS: Regarding the dark them issue, still working on some forum issue before I start on that, sorry for the delay guys.1 point

Patience is a virtue, especially since dolbyvision was only just recently added to the mkv specs. And just an FYI, Plex is still fighting with it and their team is far larger than Emby's.1 point

I don't know that that makes it easier to rescan tbh. I keep my media Read Only on my NAS and Emby is a VM with local metadata. Since Emby is open to the internet, it ensures my internal network is kept safe regardless of what happens to my Emby server. I take regular checkpoints so if anything happens to the server in any way, I can easily roll back. But yes, regardless of your method, regular back ups is the way.1 point
-
This is why I personally use the option to save metadata with the media files (all pictures and nfo files) and have all movies in their own directory. I would suggest in the future that you do so as well as it makes rescanning easy.1 point
-
Hi, you currently can't but you can expect there will be options to manage this in future updates. thanks for the feedback.1 point

I was looking at more for consistency on tvOS, a lot of non Emby apps use the phrase ‘Up Next’ such as all the Australian catch up tv apps and Apple TV+ That said, I can see how it would break consistency within Emby itself across different platforms, so best for me to put my OCD back on the shelf for this I think.1 point
-
That might be possible. It just wasn't really a concern a long time ago when this was built.1 point
-
Ahh ok nevermind, i just realized it was incredibally miss-identified. Rather than identifying it as ever after emby identified it as christmass ever after.1 point

Okay, I managed to mount rclone in / home / drives, by doing rclone mount GoogleDrive: / home / drives --allow-other --umask 002 now emby works perfectly1 point

I dug out an SDR TV and hooked it up to make some comparisons. I had to use Luke's ATV app for this, as the ebr's beta wouldn't play anything without remuxing the file, which I then get the green blocks. Anyway, I compared the SDR version of a movie to the same movie in HDR with the Shield tone mapping. The color mapping is very good, but they do make it a little brighter. I can definitely tell the difference between the unaltered HDR and the SDR. But, what the industry wants from tone mapping is to recreate the SDR mastering, which it appears to achieve quite well. I'm sure if I took stills of the studio SDR and the tone mapped SDR I would likely find more differences, but only people like me would ever do something like that. For the average user, they won't know the difference. They also won't be getting anything like HDR, sooooo......1 point

It certainly is a nice setup. I have everything in an 8’ rack which I will continue to use. However, my goal is to simplify. I used to enjoy tweaking and supporting it all. Now I just want it to work as simply and safely as possible.1 point

Wait, are you saying that you guys are 10 persons that use only one user profile? Special case would be an understatement. How do you manage to watch tv shows, with everyone messing up each others' viewing order? Also, it doesn't sound like it would be a good rating system, because you don't account for accidental plays or for the fact that tastes can be quite different in a 10 person group. There's already a rating for each item. For me. it's too of an inaccurate representation of my viewing habits,. Sometimes I fall asleep, sometimes it autoplays the next episode, but I can't watch it, sometimes I have to stop something while in progress because I have to do something else, sometimes I'm just testing something and I end up with high play counts for things that I haven't even watched As for Watched, right now it's just a flag1 point
