Hi. Frostbyte is correct. The player supports rendering these subs but not with their embedded formatting. So, if you must have the formatting, then we offer the option to burn them in. In the future, we will extend Exo in this app to support the formatting.3 points

@sooty234Perhaps you should think about buying a HTPC instead of mucking around with these horrible Android things3 points

When setting up a new user I think it would be great if I could copy an existing user. Even better if you could copy certain aspects of a user like views , library access , parental settings2 points

Right now when resuming an audiobook track (chapter) the rest of the book is not included in the play queue. When that chapter is completed, it is then necessary to go to the book and find the next chapter to add the book back to the play queue. Is there a way to add the entire book back to the queue when resuming from the main screen? May be a useful feature for music albums as well.2 points

Yes that is it. Now if you are still having issues with RTM please post another server log.2 points

Hi. This should be in the TV app in the next beta round. Most likely after the US Thanksgiving holiday.2 points

Hi, yes we can look at improving this. Thanks for the feedback.2 points

no - fingerprinting the files - or the first say 5-10 mins - would give you what you need i believe plex do this or something similar its kind of mute as a couple of clicks of ffwd and you are past most intros for a series - the investment in time for the server to do the work for you and the coding to make it happen are probably considerable compared to a couple of clicks. But people want this as they dont have to do anything or think about it - i get it but not a high priority for me.2 points

This is good practice to do this anyway - you may be able to get away with using a non-admin account as well and just grant it specific permissions as you have done so.2 points

yes - there is if you pull back the full item record - the json TAGS data is blank edit - some other field - other than tags post the record back and the TAGS are removed - as the api import sees the TAGS as empty even though the TAGITEMS exist you get a 204 response BUT all TAGS are removed If you do the same edit via metadata manager - the tags are maintained so you have some differences in the code somewhere2 points

Downloading subtitles in the TV app is very annoying, you have move one by one until you go to the language you are looking for and in the TV the switching interface is very slow. wanted to suggest a better way to display the language menu for the TV app, because you use a tv controller and there is no scrolling. I did an example for a better understanding, in the preferred part I put the languages that are set in the server to automatically download. When I want to download subtitles I avoid the TV app, I rather use the phone or the Ipad because unlike the TV app, you can scroll fast and go directly to the language you want.1 point

Hello, is there a chance to get a Carplay Support for Emby? It would be wonderful if i can listen and switch between my Music and Audiobooks from the Car-Entertainment System. best regards maci21001 point

hey what I'm really missing is support for audiobooks. Simply saving the resume point for those mp3s would be absolutely enough, no need to fetch metadata etc.1 point

At present you can only set it on or off for "movies" and "episodes". It'd be good to be able to set it on a per-library basis, so I could have trailers before my actual movies, but not before, say, wrestling events.1 point

Yes! This version works for me. Used a Fat16 USB drive. Thanks.1 point

Hi, that's not what I meant. We know you can login, the issue is you can't play. We're going to need to see the Emby Server log in order to find out what the problem is. Please tell that to the owner of the server. Thanks.1 point

Ok, .85 with Fat32 is ok for my TV. Thanks1 point

If you were around during Blue Neon Night days you will remember how capable that client was (..and still is for that matter). Those same "guts"(with better logic) are part of the Roku app on Emby. The entire capabilities have changed in the last 2 years. If this was a year and a half ago perhaps all the changes were not quite incorporated. But we are quite far along from those days. There was no automatic playback recovery then. No stats for nerds. There was no way to effectively change audio or subtitle streams before playback. All of these things are now taken for granted. But there was a time when all of that was something coming in the future. We need users who remember the app as it "used to be" to give us feedback on the apps "present condition" and give us honest feedback. Without comparing to anything else. Just how much it fills your wish list or does not. Everybody has a wish list. What are some of your wishes? It is Christmas. Maybe they get granted. Never know. The future can be anything. But it has to start somewhere. With some wish. Please give us another try on Roku and let us know where we stand. We want honest feedback. Do not be afraid to punch hard.1 point

Okay I'll give it a shot. What I'm going to do is leave the option on automatic and see if it direct plays the movies and if not see why. I'll touch base with you once I find out if it's still doing it. This was over a year-and-a-half ago so it might have changed.1 point

And yet I'm still waiting for the words "Delete" to be changed for downloads. Yea, I'm not holding my breath. Download what? A link? What's the point of that? Did it play when you completely disconnected and went into airplane mode? If not, it isn't a download or a sync.1 point

I collect to circumvent the paywall on older episodes, not to revisit the same episodes. Hosting podcasts costs money, as well. You never know when a podcast will vanish from the internet.1 point

Any version after 4.7.9 will require a purchase. 4.7.9 or earlier (still work) do not require a purchase but will prompt you to update (don't do it). You can find 4.7.9 on many sites still. I'd treat it like a test version. Set it up and getting working then when you make it part of your pipeline and commit to it, make a purchase.1 point

Changing that without knowing that's the reason is just guesswork. The first thing I would do is explore the stats feature in the video player to learn why it was transcoding.1 point

I have an Emby lifetime subscription so downloads should work. During a recent power-outage I figured I'd download a few things to my iPad before the UPS ran out. It didn't work so I tried my iPhone - that didn't work either. When power returned and I tried to figure out what went wrong downloading on both devices worked perfectly. I figure there must be a networked license-check somewhere that failed because my internet was down. If so, is there any way you can cache that check, maybe time-stamp it with expiration?1 point

Yes, public is not the same as free. In Spain, public means paid among all citizens using the state's public budget.1 point

As bakes82 said these are OTA broadcast markets. They cover 90% of the US population (not area). I wouldn't call them "public" channels but OTA or local channels. "Public" has a specific meaning at least in the US. CNN, Fox News, ESPN, Hallmark, etc are considered network or cable channels. At least for now. In the future some of these will likely go OTA using ATSC 3.01 point

Nice catch @CBers The problem here that in mobile I guess it do not show active/inactive for box as desktop hover on with mouse or whatever. That will break the design, but I will see what I can do, just give me time. .. yes, I will fix it since it should not look like this.1 point

Hi, You can set max bit rates on Emby Clients as well if this would be of help.1 point

Thanks everyone for this, I finally got it working yesterday and really appreciate your help.1 point

For anybody looking at this thread in the future, the way I eventually solved this was to give Emby its own (non-managed) service account that I just denied graphical logon privileges to prevent security holes. I then used CMDKEY to access the Windows Credential Manager for that particular account, and gave it the username and password it needed to access the network server.1 point

I have a setup very similar to what you descript. Basically, my router connects to the router (via openvpn) at my father-in-law's house to bridge the two LANs. I have a HDHOMERUN and a pc with an emby server on his network. While I can add the HDHOMERUN to my server as a video source rather easily...... since the transcoding happens on my emby server, that means it streams, *uncompressed* over the openvpn connection. That's not ideal, since it makes streaming impossible. What would be nice is if the emby server on his end could do the compression/transcoding, and then feed the video to the emby server on my end over the vpn connection. Then it *should* be watchable.1 point

Hi ebr, So, the result is: Stop worry about my problem. I found the cause and you help me to think about it. Since I have young children here, I setup a parental control directly on my router (web filtering) to prevent any king of unwanted stuff like adult content, instant messaging, etc.... And guess what? The Emby for android is now blocked by the "game" option in this filtering feature. So now, everything is bring back as normal. I was pretty sure it was my fault since I was the only one had this problem, but great thanks to you to help me think about that. BTW, good job as usual on server and apps! Everything is working great since many month!! EDIT: Maybe could be great adding an error message to the screen when internet is not reachable?1 point

Why not use chapters for this? Chapters labeled "opening", "op", "ending", "ed", "recap" or other similar things. You could even allow the user add the chapter names that are skippable for a particular show. That wouldn't require any fancy file comparison. This feature also wouldn't be as big a deal if there was a next chapter button for tv episodes.1 point

Well, I'm done contributing to TVDB. Their mods were absolutely terrible to deal with anyways. Agree with them, or they delete what you contributed. I just signed up with TVMaze.1 point

Maintenance Window: 11pm Eastern Time on Nov 16 - 2am Eastern Time on Nov 17 It is time for another back-end system upgrade to keep up with software that we use. All Emby back end systems may be unavailable during the window above. We hope for the actual downtime to be less than one hour but want to provide warning for a larger time frame just in case. This may affect Emby Connect and initial Premiere validations. Most operations will be unaffected. Thanks. View the full article1 point
