This method is not accurate because many times it says that playback is direct and it's actually transcoding, even the server dashboard is saying "Direct play". It's better the transcoding log.

It would be cool to allow Emby server users to comment what they think about a media piece. This could be shown on the top portion of a media info's page. Perhaps right under description, to encourage more user engagement.

Hello, I noticed that the filters have changed would it be possible to put a multiple selection as before. For example for the year of release of the film could have to choose several. We see on the screen that one part to a single selection and the other a multiple selection. Maybe there is a reason for this change? Best regards

In a quick test it looks like people images are tied to metadata downloaders not image downloaders. Tested new series not images or metadata Added a series with all metadata/image providers disabled, Series imported with no images or metadata or cast and crew Enabled TMDB metadata, Refreshed Series Series show metadata and cast and crew with images.

This morning I rebooted my computer before seeing this post and everything is back to normal. That was the fix. Thanks everyone.

Nothing is standing out that I can see be it is only affecting "/mnt/drive4/TV Shows" that I can see from the log. All images with media should take priority over online images. But the log does not reference any series images. If you created a new library with a new name and path and moved a couple series into that new folder do you see the same results? I am thinking possibly a database issue if this test works.

I just read a bit here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Trailers Seems trailers need to be synced into the kodi-db with extension "-trailer". This should be an easy task. I just have to adapt the DB-sync procedure (query trailers from emby server while sync, and inject them in kodi-db). Kodi should handle the rest. At least I hope, Kodi takes it from DB and not from filesystem directly.

The Kodi skin I use has flags for Atmos and DTS-X audio but it requires that phrase to be in the path to detect it. Without Native mode storing the actual path names that will not work. I would prefer to not have to use paths for that but, unfortunately, neither Kodi or Emby currently detect these audio formats.

You want the "Also Watching" like Blue Neon Night and the "Also Here" like WMC has. I think those were the only clients to ever have this feature. Reference: Request #79: [Request] "Also Here" missing This is on our issue tracker for the Roku. It is on our radar to complete eventually.

Iirc if the ATV app direct plays the file then it's able to also play PGS without transcode but if the file needs to be remuxed then it will transcode if PGS are active. I hope I'm not confusing stuff, @ebr.

If your putting together an Emby server then I would imagine at some point your going to think Hmmm it would be nice to watch the outside of my house or share it with someone who doesn't live with you. I think the is inevitable for most people. So I would build it with transcoding of 1080p in mind. So here is a big guide it doesn't cover AMD hardware but from what I can tell it is not so readily supported (at least of Linux which is were most servers end up running anyway) You could go a buy an off the shelf box which would play/transcode 10+ 1080 streams But as you say you may want to expand that forum covers all aspects of building a sever

From quick testing on Windows with Kodi 18.9 it's working astonishing fast. Great job you are doing there. On AndroidTV with Kodi 18.9 I can now sync libraries but playback takes a lot of time to start (if it starts) and is quite unstable. I will send you two logs via PM, so you can have a look at it. Edit: On my smartphone with Android 10 it works great, so seems to be something AndroidTV specific.

Yea I've noticed recently that connecting to Chromecast from the web app restarts the whole receiver but not with the android or iOS apps. I don't necessarily think this happened due to any change of our own, but we'll see if we can figure out why. Thanks for reporting.

Oops sorry for last post. again: I never wanted microphone access at all. Not sure where the cause of that misunderstanding came for here. so once for all (I hope ) - I disabled mic access whenever I was asked - I was not able to do ANY kind of search (even Text search) but again, I‘m sure ebr got it
