@pünktchen I will dwell over this tonight and see WTF is causing these hangs. I can also test on Roku TV, Roku Streaming Stick+, Roku Express, and Roku Ultra to see if these consume your streams and differently. I want to get the "playlist" method working. So far no dice. But I have infinite rolls of the dice. It is inevitable I get the right roll.

Hello, Perhaps I am not the first one to ask this question but it will be very cool if this feature could be implemented. I have 2 servers one at home and the other at work. ( and soon a third one...) So I have a movies library called movies on each server. I would like to see all the movies from a single 'virtual server location' when I use the app (ios or android ) where I will see only one movies library containing movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. It's an aggregation of movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. In fact when a user have multiple servers it will be perfect if another choice in the server list called "all servers" for example appears automatically with a merge of media informations from librairies with the same name on different servers.

If you go to an individual Movie or show, and click on Edit subtitles, there is an option to return only Forced subtitles. This option is not available in subtitle configuration in the Library section. Would be great if this could be added there, so only download forced subtitles for shows/movies. Or better would be to add it as an option of "Forced subtitles for language matching audio language". Seems most of this functionality is already in place, just needs to be linked up. If it helps, I would like to offer a bounty on this option. I can personally add $100 to bounty for it.

Hi I was wondering if anyone here could help me, I am a early beginner programmer and I'm looking to make a plugin for emby that can open a specific Web page for this example as I'm English I would like to make a Web page open BBCiplayer.Co.Uk and navagate it using a tv remote with no on screen mouse the same way say official android tv os can and do the exact same for other specific Web pages. I would like to be able to run it all In back ground the same way emby does everything else and to be able to access it the same as other plugins through various devices using emby If any one can help, start me off, do the whole thing or just as much help as possible I would be really grateful and would be happy to gift a drink or few through PayPal Many thanks Charlie @chef

Apple has added the "Network privacy permission" but they have "forgotten" to add an API to be able to check the status of this permission and eventually be able to request this permission to be enabled.

After upgrade to iOS 14 or padOS 14, you have to go to Settings - Emby - Enable Local Network Access Permission. If that setting is not enabled, then you are stuck in loop, no compatible streams are found.

It really depends on how much targeting is needed if you only want that specific location or everywhere that element appears. the better way is to look at what H2P has posted then go back to the code and see where he has targeted and then experiment with small changes and see what happens - most of the time if you get it wrong the browser ignores it. i dont copy the selector as you get what you have above - but follow the div trail down to the item i want to change then target it with the lowest level class name i can find .classname .element {} etc or .classname, .classname etc etc Also some of what you are doing already exists in several css thread so you can search for it and modify it if not to your liking It would be nice to have one thread just listing css tweaks - but it would have to be closely maintained as Luke cant keep things the same and keeps changing stuff just to make our life difficult for no real benefit. css can be finiky to get right - i dont do it enough so have a hunt and peck approach that gets me there in the end i think you need to get santa to give you a css book for xmas

@akacharos Ah, now i get it. Set the option "All conditions have to be TRUE". Normally without any condition it will return nothing, but with this special option it will then act as some kind of debug mode that returns all library items.

Actually, the current plugin causes a delays due to code design. Everything below 5 seconds is nothing to worry about. Your youtube video with default skin looks quite normal to me. The best solution is to wait for one or two weeks till I release a new version.

The Roku ultra remote is WiFi-direct. It alleviates the problem of pointing. It also has a nice "find remote" feature with multiple sound effects to beep at you when the remote goes lost. It is a nice feature. WiFi-direct remote >> Roku Ultra >> HDMI-CEC >> TV ON >> Roku Ultra detects TV on changes input to Roku and starts Emby

Are you trying to play a lossless audio track? If so can you select another audio track like AC3 or DD+ and see if it plays any better. If you could post the complete mediainfo.

Hey, Thanks for posting in again, really appreciated your help last time! Looks like Cloudflare in the DNS tab changed from 'proxied' to 'DNS only' I've switched it back to proxied and waited over night, it now appears to be working again I think. I'm genuinely not sure why it would of changed, I guess I'll just keep an eye on it. I really like Emby and it seems fast! Plex was very easy to setup, but just painfully slow. I've purchased a TBS TV tuner card and found that Emby doesn't seem to support it, I've played about with it and given up on getting that working for now. Thanks for the comments that were in the right direction. looks like that A record was set wrong. If anyone knows about the TV cards, I'm running Ubuntu Linux, and the card appears in linux as: 01:00.0 Multimedia controller: TBS Technologies DVB Tuner PCIe Card I believe the card is TBS6902 DVB-S2 Dual Tuner. I think it's in programdata\config in the system.xml file.

What has worked successfully is: 1. When upgrading from versions prior to 4.5.X.X, if you had previously created a user called Emby you will need to rename this user first, as from 4.5.X.X the installation will create a user called Emby 2. Download 4.5.2.0 from the Download Section of the Emby Website 3. Shutdown the server using the Dashboard within Emby (not Package Center) 4. Go to Package Center and check the Emby is now stopped. If not try from there. You can always also check in the Resource Monitor Synology app. 5. Install the .spk file you downloaded in point 1. using the Manuel Install option in Package Center. Emby should start automatically. If not start it. 6. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, at least. It can take time the first time with the new version. Edited: updated after feedback from @SwanStream

Just about to start doing plugins myself - so good luck on your journey as its going to take some learning programming and emby at the same time one point you need to consider is the TOS of IPlayer probably restricts content scrapping or its not allowed - so you need to look at that - and emby's TOS for plugins has restrictions for doing the same thing - but if the plugin is only for your use then you can efectively do what you want. A couple of tips - you probably want to look at setting up a channel plugin - examples already exist in the plugin catalogue. If you look through the Plugin subforum you can see some of the plugins that are not in the catalgue for various reasons for ideas for whats possible and also some plugin devs have posted their code on github so you can find some working examples etc. Finally if you have not found it already there is a emby plugin/api wiki on Github which gives a very simple overview of how to do a plugin - but it assumes way to much knowledge for the beginner - plus its very old and has not been updated in the last couple of years. But in hopefully the near future a few of us will have some new documents which we are crafting at present that will help new plugin devs get started with upto date info , examples, screenshots etc and how to configure VS2019 - no eta as yet - but likely in the next few weeks as a few "life" things have got in the way. Thanks for your offer. If i have questions, i know whom to ask. But currently i don't plan to share the code with anybody. This is to protect it from the Jellyfin guys. Are you talking about the same show, at the same time on two different channels? That is really difficult because the guide refresh queries one channel after the other. If you mean multiple episodes of the same show, one after the other on the same channel. Well, it was already requested to give the user more control about this. It's definitely something i will do at some point. I guess that's also what @AboveUnrefined is asking for. And he's right. I hate the html/javascript side of plugin development. Currently i won't code new options that are channel specific. I really need to change the gui for creating unlimited channels first.

No that would fall under user provided content, which they have provisions for. The problem is the store reviewers who evaluate our submissions usually don't have an understanding of the way our entire ecosystem works. If they see a plugin in our catalog that provides adult content then it is very likely that they will view us as an adult content provider and we can't risk that. Similar things have already happened to us with the demo emby server that we give them for testing. We almost lost our all ages rating in a couple stores due to this, and you can't try to tell them that it's just sample content because they don't understand and will just reject the submission. So as a developer once you've gone through this enough times in multiple stores you get to a point where you just don't want to take the risks anymore.

It can make a good server. What device/interface do you prefer for Emby? I have first hand experience with Chromecast, Android TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire. Of those, I think Android TV has the best interface. The only other option I can think of in a streaming device is the Apple TV, and I'm not willing to sell my soul to that ecosystem. Of course the other option is to build an HTPC with any number of interfaces, but that isn't for your average user. I've done that in the past, and found it was ultimately more trouble than it was worth.

Time to torture the grandkids and MAKE them watch the OLD Halloween movies......... They want to watch Hocus Pocus, but they have to watch some Svengoolie movies first...... What are your suggested Halloween movies??
