  1. No one is trying to "heckle" anyone. We're just letting you know that many new things for Live TV/DVR are coming in the near future (can't say when yet) and are in VERY ACTIVE development. This includes tons of new features and functionality that people have asked for. This isn't something that's a good idea and will be added in the future as the future is now. The point of letting you know and commenting on certain things is to let you know we realize the issues and are currently taking steps to handle those things better with the next Live TV release in development.

  3. Release 1.4.8 should be rolling out to devices now so this should be fixed!

  4. You know /*anything*/ is for comments only and put around code disables it. So your first variation does work. But Luke put !important in his code so we have to target a little different. /* Make Backdrop Much Brighter */ div.backgroundContainer.withBackdrop {background: rgba(0,0,0,.10)!important;} If you want to remove the opacity also. /* Make Backdrop Much Brighter */ div.backgroundContainer.withBackdrop {background: rgba(0,0,0,.10)!important; opacity: 0 !important;}

  5. I suggested in a totally different thread a bit ago about possibly adding Discogs as a meta fetcher... https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/79280-duplicate-music-artists-entries-how-to-get-rid-of-them/ That thread has had a few +1 reply posts. As such i figured adding it to the feature requests was the proper way to gauge interest. If you have used MP3tag you should be familiar with Discogs. Its a GREAT alternative to Musicbrainz.

  6. Feature Request Permit subtitle backgrounds for better visibility. It would be good to allow subtitle backgrounds with variable opacity so that the sub text can overlay any existing text. There might be issues where the subtitle is in the same color as the background that might cause viewing issues. I understand that you can change the text color, but this is inconvenient to change the subtitle color to avoid the issue. Let's say I'm watching a video with white hardsubs, and it conflicts with my external subs. Having sub backgrounds would permit a more enjoyable viewing experience and prevent the need to change the color. Example Netflix has a subtitle appearance that permits subtitle backgrounds.

  7. A new release of Emby Server is currently rolling out to address a few small issues with the 4.5 release. Here are the changes: Resolve install failures on certain Synology NAS models Fix include by tags feature returning incorrect content in certain situations Fix SSL http2 errors on Windows 8 & 2012 Fix connection issues when used with HAProxy Fix local network address detection causing virtual adapters to be preferred Don't try to schedule wakes when running as windows service Fix audio podcast playback on mono-based platforms Update MovieDb plugin to 1.3.7

  8. Well, it looks like Windows doesn't allow to change the username (or at least I couldn't find how to) but I've created a new account just for Kodi and it works perfectly. I'm not in the mood to factory reset the PC again soon, so that will have to work for now. I normally don't use special characters, I will never do again in the future, I will always remeber this. Many thanks for all your help!!!

  9. I use this div.smallBackdropCard { width: 14%; }

  10. Quite sure this is the issue. Can you rename it? (as a workaround) btw, good policy: never use special characters anywhere (devs always think, US standards=world)

  14. @skidmarks Apologies this isn't already in the app. You are correct. The missing music video row on music artist detail view will be corrected. Thank you for bring it to our attention. Please keep them coming. Any inconsistency we want to try to squash. Thanks again.

  19. We were planning to do this down the line indeed. Right now we seem to have a lot of unidentified permission issues on some setups so they're reset on each install/upgrade, but once we figure this out they will be set on installation but left as is on upgrade. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  23. Hi. I kind of agree with you but I fear introducing these extra steps to move backwards would be met with much negative feedback. The only place the back button takes you back to the top is in a grid view of data. On all of the "row-based" views, it does not do that. If we were to follow the YT methodology, the first back would take you to the first item in the row/grid then the next one would take you to the top of the screen and then the next one would take you to the previous screen, etc. While that makes some sense, even I find myself getting frustrated with how many clicks it takes to get out of the YT app...

  26. The US app store has Emby but it's an old version v1.0.77. I need the latest v1.0.85 which has important guide fixes. I may have to use a USB extension, good idea. I could bring it to the back edge of the TV. Thanks.

  27. Personally UNC drive mappings - as they give you the maximum flexibility with no downsides. If I have a share/UNC - I can move the share to any other drive as I see fit - and not have to re-scan everything. If I add a drive, then the OS may decide to re-assign all my drive letters - but this will not impact the UNC share name.

  28. RAM will make next to no difference on a Synology in terms of Emby performance - the RAM upgrade option is more for running Docker containers, or Virtual Machines. You can add 2xNVMe SSDs in the M2 slots, however these cannot officially be configured as a storage volume (and so you cannot explicitly set Emby to use them) - they are intended to cache all data on the main storage volume. (there is an unofficial way of doing this via SSH into the Synology - but not something I was interested in) You could add a Sata SSD into one of the drive bays, but then you would lose a drive bay and not be able to run in RAID1. I've just bought a DS1520+ so currently have been looking at the same questions - however so far I haven't seen any noticeable performance issues using just a Hard drive array for Emby compared to my previous SSD based PC.

  29. Right - audio can be transcoded and merged with the original video stream if necessary. This is (or certainly has been) not reported as transcoding in the stats, because the overhead is so small. Paul

  30. If you can try a test on the 10 albums or whatever you're going to upload for us to test. Create a spot on disc to hold these as a new music library with proper structure and MOVE these file to it. Set them up as if they are your whole collection. Scan your old/existing music library to remove these albums. Now create a Music Test library pointing to these 10 albums and the folder structure you setup. What happened? If they loaded correctly then that's indication you have "junk files" in your main music library messing things up. If these albums didn't load correct from your test library ZIP it up and send it exactly how you have it setup so we get the tracks as well as folder structure you are using AS IS.

  31. You'll need to run fizzyades bash script on a freenas machine. I'm not sure if there is a way to run powershell on that machine. You might need to convert the forward slashes in the uri into backslashes for windows to recognize it. if [ "$sonarr_eventtype" == "Download" ]; then UpdateType="Series" Path=$(echo "$sonarr_episodefile_path" | sed "s|$local_tv_path|$remote_tv_path|") Path=$(echo "$sonarr_episodefile_path" | sed -e "s/\\/\//g") fi I'd start with that and see how you go, but i'm not familiar enough with bash to know if i've fucked it up. You would add that second path substitution in each event type.

  33. Yes as div.backgroundContainer.withBackdrop is actually different then just .backgroundContainer.withBackdrop as this applies to any type of that element.

  36. You don't get much computer and storage capable of media streaming for $1000, and less than $1000 won't buy enough films and series to make it really worth having a server at all. But $120 (for lifetime) is still peanuts alongside the minimal $2000 I postulate. Anyway, discounts mean one of two things - either they are running short of sales and will soon cease operations, or they are routinely overcharging and occasionally have a sale to distract people from that fact. 39. None of that code would be of any use in Emby. Two completely different pieces of software.

  40. That behavior would be unwelcome by most and isn't what the plug-in is designed for. The point of the plug-in is to create known box sets automatically and it does that. Many people will use it initially to build the known ones and then remove the plug-in and modify/customize from there. It gives them a head start but then they can customize as they wish.

  44. Awesome @MrMind - Thanks - and all back up and running. And lesson learnt - I will keep an archive of the releases myself also (perhaps not in recycle! ). Come on Team Emby - we appreciate the work you all put in but surely it's not that hard to keep an archive of releases on Github ? Particularly given a bunch of us are paid up subscribers??
