  3. -= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars

  4. CURRENT STATUS: SSO: Not yet planned LDAP: Development COMPLETED - BETA AVAILABLE >180 direct endorsements >30 MONTHS (>2.5 years) >12,000 views PLEASE BUMP - - - - - PLEASE LIKE - - - - - PLEASE BUMP - - - - - PLEASE LIKE - - - - - PLEASE BUMP This would greatly expand Emby's usage, and possibly more enterprise level adoption, user templating, user groups, SSO, etc. There are also users who have completely abandoned Emby and ended subscriptions due to the lack of this necessary basic functionality. Note: SAML2 is also part of this request. (header auth is also acceptable, at a minimum.) Context: I am trying to use something like openfire as a Instant Messaging solution which already supports LDAP and SAML2. So this would allow the current user of emby to seamlessly use web-based instant messenger with the same username and password as Emby without the need to enter them into a form. This would also allow universal login to be shared with my home PC's, Spiceworks, Ombii, Organizr, etc. The multitude of possible flexible functionality this could add is truly incredible. THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE, myself and others cannot manage a userbase with proprietary passwords for a single service (with no self-service password reset/recovery), when things that have only months of development implement it within days, easily. Status: LDAP - Development Completed - BETA AVAILABLE! Common LDAP solutions to test against:Open LDAP (Open Source) [use this] ApacheDS OpenDJ 389 Directory Server Microsoft Active Directory SSL is NOT actually needed, but Emby team insisted on it anyways: Simply offering a toggle option for auth to send plaintext or encrypted passwords would work just fine. It is ironic to claim the need to be overly security conscious of user passwords, while lagging behind on basic SSL. If SAML is implemented, a SAML request/response can just be signed by an x509 and it is just as secure as TLS using SSL. SSL does not need to be natively supported, as it is perfectly possible to run it through an SSL reverse proxy tunnel and have the same effect. SSL Feature Request: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/33983-ssl-integrationsupport/&do=findComment&comment=322526As of now username and password is encrypted client-side as security as SSL is not natively implemented. Emby team has said this impedes the adoption of both SSO and LDAP. Please see our SSL request topic; like, comment, and endorse it to show how many people would enjoy/gain from this basic security. Ways to satisfy this FR: Direct LDAP connector SAML2 connector General SSO functionality (SSO Header, etc) Allowing user header auth NGINX auth support RADIUS Authentication Other features that are inherently possible if this is implemented: Self service passwords Ability for users to invite users/guests Expiring Accounts (after duration/trigger) Unified credentials for many services Corporate level authentication security User groups Mass User management Update 1: I encourage others to work on this but I am currently seeing what I can do to develop a solution to this myself. If you have experience in this LDAP/SSO/SAML2/SSL/.NET contact myself, @@Luke, @@ebr or the Emby team to let them know, any help is greatly appreciated! By everyone! Update 2: I know there is always the question of "well how many users actually want/will use this", so I compiled a list of some of the other threads/sites where people request this (to apparently no effectiveness in motivating the team). Update 3 (18 MONTH UPDATE): This request has now hit 18 months in age, NO progress made thus far whatsoever. ( ) Update 4: This FR is now the 4th most liked post ON THE ENTIRE FORUM and the 3rd most liked FR ON THE ENTIRE FORUM (ever), the 1st most liked active FR ON THE ENTIRE FORUM and over 4000 views. Counting endorsements besides those on this thread show over 115 direct requests/endorsements for this basic functionality. Lets get this moving guys, this is getting to be a bit much. Almost 2 years waiting on this now. Source Update 5 (9/20/2017): This feature request is now the MOST DESIRED REQUEST EVER MADE TO EMBY, sadly, that has not merited any progress at all. The staff has been working on things they believe Emby users want or may want, but it is clear what people want. We can only hope now our wishes are respected instead of being told what we want and having our requests dismissed. Source Update 6 [2 year update] (10/17/2017): Two years and not a single bit of progress has been made. TWO YEARS!!! To say this is disappointing is an understatement. The entire reason I went from Plex to Emby was because of local user management. THIS IS THE ONLY REASON, so naturally I wanted to have complete control over my users, but after TWO YEARS, still nothing. Update 7 (3/6/2018): DEVELOPMENT HAS STARTED!!! Check Luke's recent comments, if you want to test it out, download the latest beta and install/configure the LDAP plugin to test and give feedback!!! Update 8 (4/6/2018): Development on the LDAP connector has completed from what I gather, not sure if this is only a beta or a primary release; SSO is still a plan for the future but has not been touched. Progress made by other users (looks to be nearly, if not fully complete): https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/pull/1885 https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/pull/2139 Exploits shown by other users against Emby (emphasizing the need for a centralized authentication solution): https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/12335-unauthenticated-access-over-the-internet-to-logs-folder/ https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/20376-all-folders-visible-to-all-users-after-upgrade/ Related FR that could be helpful: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/46635-support-for-logging-users-in-though-url-scheme/?hl=user Any of these could be interesting to have compatibility with: http://lemonldap-ng.org/welcome/ https://github.com/Jasig/cas http://passportjs.org/ https://www.nginx.com/resources/admin-guide/restricting-access-auth-request/ LDAP/SSO/SAML Requests (~180 endorsements) [>12,000 views] > 95 endorsements on this post ~ 30 endorsementshttps://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/issues/1146 > 35 endorsementshttps://www.bountysource.com/issues/24943821-authenticate-users-using-ldap > 14 endorsementshttps://feathub.com/tidusjar/Ombi/+122 > 4 endorsementshttps://www.reddit.com/r/emby/comments/5o44wd/creating_deleting_updating_users_with_the_api/ Interview, in article comments user said lack of LDAP STOPPED him from using Emby (Emby is actually losing customers due to the lack of this NECESSARY basic functionality):https://www.linux.com/news/software/multimedia/856128-exclusive-interview-emby-founder-luke-pulverenti Duplicate, user had no progress on first 2 posts (no one from Emby actually tracked this or even replied to him):http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/861-mb3-and-active-directory/ http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/867-mb3-and-active-directory/ Auth announcement, user 'Drashna' in comments requested LDAP/ADhttp://emby.media/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-177-manage-your-home-with-emby-users/ Various similar requestshttps://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/issues/2494 https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/issues/2493 https://forum.yunohost.org/t/integration-emby/912 http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/13081-active-directory-integration/ http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/11200-media-browser-3-server-ldap-active-directory/ External SQL auth request:http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/27986-emby-and-shared-mysql-database/ http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/23509-authenticate-users-via-external-mysql-database/ http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/12001-external-login-to-mysql/ #ADFS #SSO #LDAP #ActiveDirectory #MSAD #SAML #SAML2.0 #SAML1.1 #PingFederate #OKTA #LemonLDAP #JASIG #authentication #auth #TLS #SSL #Usergroup #usertemplate #header #authheader #headerauth #security #hardening #authhardening #authenticationheader #externalauth #centralauth #centralizedauth #centralizeddb #exploit #authexploit #security #loginhardening #authenticationhardening #accesscontrol #.NET #SelfService #RADIUS

  5. As I mention in a related post, I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! It would be awesome to extend this functionality to TV Series as well. Specifically to add support for many/all of the same folders supported for Movie Extras, eg, extras specials shorts scenes featurettes behind the scenes deleted scenes interviews trailers As well as any additional folders that get added in the future (eg, hopefully Galleries). Support Placement of "Extras" Folders Within Each Season Folder, Plus A Naming Scheme to Link A Particular Extras Folder with a Specific Episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes): I want to clarify that it would be great if these various "extras" folder types could reside within each Season folder. So for example, within a Season 1 folder we could then have an "Extras" folder, a "Deleted Scenes" folder, a "Featurettes" folder, etc. And furthermore, that we could designate a particular folder to refer to a specific episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes). See more below, particularly why I think this would be so useful: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55915-emby-server-theater-additional-extrasspecial-folder-types-for-tv-series-similar-to-movies/&do=findComment&comment=587195 Thanks for your consideration! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.

  7. Maybe there could be an option to show only unwatched media in the "Because you watched..." and "Because you liked..." sections of the Suggestions Tab? Or is there already? Anyway, I'm using the web client via Firefox on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine...

  8. It would be nice if MBS could incorporate a Commercials.XML file generated from Comskip or ShowAnalyzer and use this to automatically skip over commercials in the web client. Ideally, I'd like to see this work like DVRMSToolbox's DTBAddin. You would have a setting in LiveTV for commercials location. During a media scan, it would match the .XML file name to a recorded TV file and generate the appropriate commercial markers based in the commercials files. When streaming from the web client, it would use this data to automatically bypass the commercials, but allow the user to go back if section was marked incorrectly. Option 1: Translate the commercials file into the chapter/scene markers. Users could manually skip to the next scene. Option 2: Make special commercial markers and automatically skip like DTBAddin Maybe this could expand later where you could have MBS scan files as well.

  10. I would like to be able to mark individual media items or even perhaps entire libraries to be excluded from media scans. If I have retrieved all the metadata and images I want for a particular TV series or Music collection and I know that the files will never change and the metadata should never change, I would like to be able to exclude it from scans to a ) reduce scan time b ) decrease the likelihood of unwanted changes being made c ) reduce network utilization I've noticed that even with series that have not had any new episodes in years (and no changes have been made in my filesystem) there is still information being downloaded from metadata providers. I suppose that is to check to make sure it is current/complete, but it is a waste of my network resources which are not plentiful. Perhaps this could be implemented by adding the option to not rescan media that has been marked as locked.

  11. Hello, I noticed that the filters have changed would it be possible to put a multiple selection as before. For example for the year of release of the film could have to choose several. We see on the screen that one part to a single selection and the other a multiple selection. Maybe there is a reason for this change? Best regards

  12. My Samsung TV cannot directly play PGS Sub format subtitles (commonly used in blu-ray media), but it can directly play the video and audio. In this scenario the server re-encodes the video track with hard subs... I might be watching a 4K H265 video and just because the subs aren't compatible, the entire video has to be transcoded. From my point of view, that's a load of unnecessary work that we can potentially avoid. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to try converting the subtitle track to VobSub format, or at least have an checkbox option in the user profile to "Convert incompatible subtitle track to VobSub" if the incompatible subtitle track is the only reason for transcoding? VobSub has much wider support on devices, as is the case with my particular brand of TV. Implementing this would be great for those of us using who enjoy direct streaming blu-ray content to Samsung TVs and other devices that don't support PGSSub subtitles. There might be other subtitle formats I'm not familiar with that could also be converted with this method. It should be very easy to implement, here's a quick example of an ffmpeg command converting pgssub to vobsub: ffmpeg -fix_sub_duration -i "input.mkv" -c copy -c:s dvd_subtitle out.mkv The '-fix_sub_duration' argument is necessary for some reason. Without it, subtitles don't display at all or they display and never disappear.

  14. 18Mb isn't that high. I suspect it is the 10bit that it is struggling with. If it isn't transcoding, though, then the device must be reporting it supports that.

  16. Simple setup, easily automated to run as a service, took about 10 minutes to setup. Has all 12 tuners connected up (3 cards) and "just works" without issue yet. Only downside is manually creating an m3u file. NextPVR I did try out, requires a "thicker" client and quite a bit more setup and bugged out in the UI while searching for channels so lost a bit of confidence there. Also for the use has alot more features than we need.

  21. Not necessarily. That's one of the benefits to having a server. It can convert your media to whatever format is needed on the fly.

  22. Hi. Also, if you know you have devices that need different formats for your media, you can use our convert feature to create versions for them that will not need to transcode. Convert Media

  23. On the same device, yes. On a different device it may not need to transcode.
    1 point
  24. Hi. Transcoding is done in real-time and is not cached anywhere. This happens on the server. Does this answer your question?

My guess would be a mild conflict with the Anime plugin. I would disable the anime plugin on the library metadata downloader, then Identify by either TVDB, TMDB, or IMDB id and select replace images if needed. Then lock the metadata via edit metadata if you plan on re-enabling the Anime plugin. You can see one of them here. https://anidb.net/anime/4539 https://anilist.co/anime/10648/Mars/ https://myanimelist.net/anime/443 (not sure on this one)

  28. Once i get my emby server back up and running in the next couple of days (just moved) i will double check my setup But as you have MV with Artists in web app etc but not others - that would suggest its a missing feature in those apps Web app only got MV with Artist back at the very end of the beta cycle so if you want others to work you will need to badger @Luke or @ebr ========== For info should you have a few weird ones I had an issue with a couple of artists that did not show their MV - the artist names for music and MV were the same in emby had same mbz id's but in music no MV's and clicking on artist name in MV library showed no music. Searching for the artist brough up two entries which had dfferent emby db ids Checking the Artist folder names - showed they were the same i.e. MusicVideos\Artist and Music\Artist - had artist spelt the same - i even set the case the same even though on windows No joy What it turned out to be was i had use an and instead of a & in the metadata of the MV file for Atrist/Artists/AlbumArtist- once i corrected that i thought it would fix its self - BUT - you still have to remove the MV artist folder - and do the dance of lib scan - check MV artist gone from emby - then add back and bingo one artist with MV's showing. Not something the average user is going to find Its a bug i have not reported yet as busy moving etc as dont quite have a repeatable tasted method to reproduce reliably ====== It sounds like you have a working solution so having mv folders per video is optional - as i think it should be - i prefer the sub folders myself - but having two ways gives people an option as lots wont want subfolders. So i dont think you need to change anything unless you find new issues we have not covered. So have fun actually playing them not fiddling with them!

  31. I am also interested in this device to replace my aging Roku device that is super slow and constantly has issues with aspect ratio and crashing. For anyone who has the new Google TV device now, does the "apps-only" mode that can be turned on help at all with the usability issues raised? I personally do not think I will find the default home screen too bad, but the "apps-only" mode does seem appealing for those who want a cleaner interface.

  34. There is not (yet) a forum area for the Emby Theater app in the Mac app store - putting it here just because it has also been called Emby Theater. I have found that when video is playing, the app does not keep the screen on. I use Emby through most of my work day, and the screen keeps turning off whether in full screen or a window. The web app does not do this (whether in a window or full screen). I have removed/reinstalled and restarted my Mac and the behavior persists. I have temporarily put the "turn off display after..." setting to Never in the power saving settings. This isn't the most optimal workaround. Is this a known issue/behavior? Is there something else I can do to get this to work correctly? Thanks!

The 30 sec. jumps on Tizen are really annoying... It is nearly impossible to move 1h forward since it really takes forever to get there.. Thanks in advance

  38. I have quite a bit of users and some I have accidentally left the default 'delete media' toggle activated. Since there is no mass user management it is quite difficult to go through each user and disable this. But it is something I wish was never implemented as I manage media from my file server. I am sure I am not alone on this, but without disabling write access to my emby service account there is not a way to globally disable this, I would like this to be possible.
