Hi, Since I am using more and more TMDb, (since tvdb is more and more a mess), I am missing a very important feature. tvdb had the feature of grouping stuff into aired, DVD and absolute, which is supported by emby. TMDb had also this feature. See this example for "La casa de papel" (Money Heist, Haus des Geldes): The Original Order is allways the "aired order" of the original country. "La casa de papel" was originaly released by "Antena 3" and was taken over by Netflix, which results in different episodes ordering, which is a mess. They solved it in episode grouping. This feature is missing from emby, but it's integrated in their API and is allready supported in other apps, like kodi. At least, Banana a TMDb Mod claims it, that it's supported by Kodi: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/71446-la-casa-de-papel/discuss/5e7032d84f9a99001152704f?page=1#5eb76872ca7ec6001f7c53cb Is it possible to add this feature into emby? It is the last scraping feature, I really really miss for TMDb on emby. It adds much flexibility and is overall a much better solution, than on tvdb with their aired, dvd and absolute order. Another great example is Dragonball Super: As you see, it adds much more flexibility for different regions over the world. It's in my own eyes a must have for emby!3 points

I would like to have the ability to check if a movie is already in my library before scheduling a recording in the DVR. The only way to do it now is to make a search. This mean going from on screen to another. It is already possible to not record an episode of a serie that already exist in the library. A similar option should be available for movie, One suggestion is to have a seach display on screen when scheduling the recording of a movie, in order to inform if the movie is already in the library or not. Hope this help!2 points

Yeah, that is not a fair comparison. The CC is just a receiving device whereas the Mi is an entire client that can run all kinds of apps itself. It depends on your needs but the Mi is a superior option for most. Plus - you'll get a ChromeCast built in with the Mi.2 points

Depending on your platform it is in your Emby programdata /config folder. The Paths box on the dashboard or a server log should give you the location. And you will see this in the system.xml. Yes removing and recreating libraries but Refreshing the metadata should do the job. <SortRemoveWords> <string>the</string> <string>a</string> <string>an</string> <string>das</string> <string>der</string> <string>el</string> <string>la</string> </SortRemoveWords> https://emby.media/community/index.php?/search/&q=SortRemoveWords&quick=12 points

If you have remote access open then a quick checklist - 1. Ensure all users have strong passwords 2. Remove obvious Admin account names - such as 'Admin' etc 3. Ensure you use SSL where possible 4. Ensure users are not setup to be Emby Admins - and remove delete privileges unless necessary 5. Consider running Fail2Ban/IPBan to block repeated login attempts 6. Unless you need to administer Emby remotely, then remove this ability to all but a local (only) Admin account.2 points

There is an Episode_Groups api endpoint that returns the unique Ids for each group e.g. 5eb7353b0cb3350020ce402e https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/tv/get-tv-episode-groups and those ids can then be used to pull back the "parts" info via https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/tv-episode-groups/get-tv-episode-group-details etc What emby then does with the info.........2 points

Greetings, Apologies if this idea has been suggested already - I couldn't see it, if it had. Would it be possible to implement an audio only playback mode for video media? I find some situations where I'd like to listen to video content but am not able to watch. Particularly when mobile, I'd rather not stream the video portion with the associated data overhead and just have the audio come through, transcoded in the same way as music would be (i.e., quality subject to the settings I provide in the app). Usage examples could include live television news channels, or music programmes recorded from TV - the visual element is less important and so I might choose to listen whilst out and about, but I don't need the video playback and I'd also want to keep my phone screen off whilst the media continue to play. Thanks!1 point

Right now I don't see anything happening until we know the direction that will be taken with TVDB change to subscription based api support. Who will pay program dev or users?1 point

@FrostByte I know the difference between TrueHD Atmos 7.1 vs AC3 because of my friends home theatre setup, it sounds amazing. My Samsung 4K TV only has a HDMI ARC input, so I'm assuming that based on your response, I can't get TrueHD Atmos 7.1 to work on my setup. If so, UGH!1 point

Nothing in that statement is technically incorrect, I just think they just conveniently left out the additional sentence of "Sonos Arc must be connected to HDMI eARC (or to the sending device directly) to support TrueHD". If you can connect Shield->Sonos->TV then that may work. But I don't know how much difference you're going to hear on a soundbar anyway...1 point

how about writing it then down in the wiki that 2 and 3 language codes are allowed?1 point

Yesterday's (current patch) does not address the play issue reported in the thread. Actually, I don't have any issues with my regular boxes (setup) as well, but I can reproduce the reported issue with a special test setup. If you are currently not affected there is no need to fiddle with the code.1 point

Hi Riggs, either of them are fine and correct. Difference of 2 letter vs 3 letter abbreviations. I'd also with ISO letter abbreviations and here's a good list https://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php that shows both 2 letter and 3 letter codes. Also keeps you politically correct so you won't use "jap" instead of the proper "jpn" for Japan, etc... The ISO codes are world wide agreed upon abbreviations.1 point

ARC doesn't support HD audio. It's on par with optical. You need eARC or just connect directly and don't use ARC.1 point

not a script or css its in the \config\system.xml file BUT - its not retrospective.... only applies to new media - not sure if a full refresh of an item will work Make sure you shut down the server before you edit the xml1 point

I havent found a Feature Requests for this, correct me if im wrong. It will be nice to have something in the guide that show you that you already have a movie in your library. That can be in detail screen before you click record or on the main guide page.1 point

today my Emby showed a lot of 'continue watching' videos. a lot was not complete. i probe further and it sees my login was accessed by someone else. not sure how they get the password. I suspect it is coming from a Chrome extension. i would strongly suggest to have a 2FA. there are a lot of sites that support 2FA. it has become the normal. so should Emby.1 point

Ok the reason you are getting problems - is that everyone of those files is corrupted - assuming the corruption is not due to being zipped and upload/downloaded If i open them in Picard - they come up as [non-album-tracks] In Mp3Tag - they show as bad ID3v2 I checked the integrity of the zip file and its fine Mp3Tag not liking the files. Notice that most of the Tag data is missing the first letter? So... If you have the source disk i would re rip the files If not try Mp3Val or other tools easy to find on line to repair the files Mp3Tag although it can save the files cannot repair them That the files play is no indication they are not damaged - to me it looks like the headers of the files are corrupted - hence why picard is having an issue as well Once you sort this album i would run a check on all the others you have as it could be you have a wider problem - hopefully not Have Fun1 point

At times Amazon is very easy to deal with. However as far as "policies" go they can be very stubborn. This seems to be an issue that really makes no sense but the person that can actually change it may be very hard to find and then even harder to deal with. For apps like Emby there is really no reason to not allow it to be purchased everywhere but logic really has little to do with bureaucracies and Amazon is a horrendously large bureaucracy. In the case of Amazon it might be easier for a customer to get a change made than it is for a company so you might try calling Amazon yourself and making a pest out of yourself. Be sure you are a polite pest but keep pressing and get escalated. Be sure you are talking to people that actually can make changes to their app store permissions or at least get those that can make changes to understand that a change is needed. I mostly like my Fire stick but because it is fully under control by Amazon it is quite frustrating to use and maintain at times. You can wait for Amazon to fix the issue or you can get something else to replace the sFire devices you have or you can move to a place where Amazon supports Emby on the Fire. Personally, in your case, I would just get a different device. The Fire really brings nothing unique to the table.1 point

The web app will support it with the server update. Individual app updates will come out as soon as possible after that.1 point
