Resistance is futile... You guys are just going to cause yourselves more problems down the road trying to block updates. The suggestions really aren't that big of a deal. Hi, Since I am using more and more TMDb, (since tvdb is more and more a mess), I am missing a very important feature. tvdb had the feature of grouping stuff into aired, DVD and absolute, which is supported by emby. TMDb had also this feature. See this example for "La casa de papel" (Money Heist, Haus des Geldes): The Original Order is allways the "aired order" of the original country. "La casa de papel" was originaly released by "Antena 3" and was taken over by Netflix, which results in different episodes ordering, which is a mess. They solved it in episode grouping. This feature is missing from emby, but it's integrated in their API and is allready supported in other apps, like kodi. At least, Banana a TMDb Mod claims it, that it's supported by Kodi: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/71446-la-casa-de-papel/discuss/5e7032d84f9a99001152704f?page=1#5eb76872ca7ec6001f7c53cb Is it possible to add this feature into emby? It is the last scraping feature, I really really miss for TMDb on emby. It adds much flexibility and is overall a much better solution, than on tvdb with their aired, dvd and absolute order. Another great example is Dragonball Super: As you see, it adds much more flexibility for different regions over the world. It's in my own eyes a must have for emby!2 points

As much as I love Emby, it's why I connected Emby to Infuse on Apple TV to play all files. Great support of HDR and I have yet to have one movie freeze or buffer on me. I know this is truly a work around until Emby offers native HDR support for the Apple TV, but it does work very well. I understand that it's a major overhaul to get this in, but it is something that a lot of people want as everyone's 4k/HDR libraries are growing.2 points

While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations1 point

Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows1 point

VideoReDo has a built in "ad detective" which indicates sections of video that are likely commercials. I believe this is the same thing.1 point

One thing I want to point out is that "factual" errors do not ruin a movie even if they are easily avoided. It is the acting and direction that ruins movies. It is just that it is easy to avoid most factual errors in dialog and it shows a lack of respect for the audience to allow dialog errors into movies. But movies can be good even with bad errors. BTW: Star Wars is not really science fiction it is science fantasy and that allows a lot more latitude in the area of errors. Maybe physics behaves differently in their fantasy universe. However even fantasy should avoid using common terms wrongly.1 point

Ok, update to TVOS14, here are the outstanding issues: The SETTINGS tab randomly goes missing as an option on the home screen menu bar, sometimes SEARCH appears listed twice. Minimising the Emby screen and going back in fixes it. The tabs for Photos in a Video library and tabs for Videos in a Photos library were still present, but thought the release notes said they had been removed? My library was setup as a separate Photos and Videos libraries not the recent new combined library. It makes no sense for additional tabs for another library not relevant as it will show nothing anyway. Emby should honour separate libraries or a combined one - not try and force existing people to change to a combined library as I don't WANT a combined library as I like being able to filter user permissions to view or not view specific libraries. In LIVE TV under CHANNELS, the logos are not resized to fit a certain size, and some can be massive taking up screen estate and some more normal size. This was evident on previous Emby versions though. I can give a copy of the actual logo used - it isn't necessarily the one from schedules direct EPG data as their logo colours often clash. Music Videos titles can often show the html special characters in their titles on screen like "&". It's not the embedded filename or ID3v2 meta data At end of playback (new on TVOS 14 for me), the music video played in Apple native Player does not return back to the emby screen and stays at end of video like a freeze frame As my users are locked down to specific devices only with custom names, when I re-installed Emby again, it just sat on the spinning wheel logo "forever" until I went in to the user account in Emby Server and allowed ALL DEVICES (just to let it in) and after I restricted the devices again on the user account. I would have expected Emby to protest saying "Access Denied" or "No access for device granted" as error dialogues rather than just sit on a spinning wheel graphic forever. Scrolling down lists of movies, tv shows or music videos is still clunky and often rolls back up the list whilst scrolling, meaning it takes longer to get further down the list. Happens when you scroll fast. If you do slowly it doesn't reset the list and keeps up but slow is no good as lots of titles or artists to browse past.1 point

I cringe every time an X-wing fighter "banks" through outer space but that is a totally different movie from a totally different time. Easier to suspend disbelief with the way those stories are set and created.1 point

It's in beta repo (not in stable repo yet) and you can also sideload it from here: https://kodi.emby.tv/Public testing/ I think you are affected by this issue below. Fix is not included yet, cause further investigation is required before publishing:1 point

Yes, but you can manually update apps one by one anytime you want as well.1 point

1: My server currently has approximately 40tb of used storage with 70+tb of available storage and no issues with the DB here. 2: When creating the library you have the option on how it handles meta data. You can store it centrally or within the individual folders 3: Never tried "extra's". It does handle specials fine and you can manually match outside of tvdb so I would assume you would be fine. Someone else may be able to chime in here. 4: With emby premiere yes you can backup just the server/metadata. Without premiere there's ways to do it within FreeNAS which involves taking snapshots of the jail, but it's more complicated than getting premiere1 point

@Sirbyteme, this is fixed. It looks like the MediaSource protocol for live TV changed from http to file, which I've now updated in the app You can download 2.2.8 from here if you host it yourself, otherwise it will be published soon https://github.com/MediaBrowser/SamsungSmartTV/releases/tag/2.2.81 point

This is now included in the 2.2.8 release. Thanks @ogry for tackling this. You can download 2.2.8 from here if you host it yourself, otherwise it will be published soon https://github.com/MediaBrowser/SamsungSmartTV/releases/tag/2.2.81 point

AdBlock Plus is installed. I had my Real Flight controller plugged in. I unplugged it and now it goes to the sign in screen. I sign in with my email and password and it goes to the select server screen. When I click on my computer name it immediately tells me it can't connect. So, I clicked Add Server and put in the IP address of my computer and now I'm looking at the Emby dashboard. What does a game controller have to do with it?1 point

Well I got it to work. Not sure if it's the right way. I found a session that appears to always exist for Volumio. Using that session ID I was able to play back tracks using Postman using a URL similar to this. http://emby:8096/Sessions/<session ID>/Playing?ItemIds=<track ID>&PlayCommand=PlayNext&StartIndex=0 Other commands like Stop/Pause/UnPause worked using http://emby:8096/Sessions/<Session ID>/Playing/Stop1 point

I want to share what I think has solved playback issues I've been having. I'd been having weird audio issues since getting my Nvidia Shield Pro 2019. When starting a movie or tv show file, the audio would take a second to kick in after the video has already started. It'd be in sync, but odd nonetheless. I also noticed that LIVE TV would fall out of sync over time. I'd have to stop and restart the show. However, the real annoying problem I was having was while watching football games that I edit and encode from recordings - I like to re-watch NFL games. All the files would start out as direct play, but when I'd start to use FF to skip between plays or rewind to watch a play again, playback eventually would move over to direct stream then full on transcoding and throw a DirectPlay error. Logs would show that it was all audio related. I never had issues with direct play of my football games with my previous HTPC, so I thought maybe it had something to do with Emby Android TV, but then I realized that I also use Emby Android TV on my FireTV and do not have these issues on it. So I was back to wondering what is with this Nvidia Shield that could be causing these problems? I searched the forums here and didn't find anything related to my issue and after looking in the Nvidia Shield's settings and finding what I think has solved everything, I looked again on the forums to see if anyone else pointed it out. No one has or I can't find it ... so here's what solved it for me: Under Nvidia Shield Settings > Device Preferences > Display & Sound > Advanced sound setttings > Dolby audio processing was toggled ON. I toggled it OFF and have not had any of the above issues since. I have the latest Nvidia Shield update 8.2.0(32.6.435.1) which may have somehow toggled that ON by default or it's always been on since I've had it. I surmise that this Dolby audio processing was forcing the Shield to always process regardless if it's connected to a receiver that can do the work, therefore causing delays and sync issues. Just a single click and all is well. Anyway, just wanted to post this in case others were noticing these issues with their Shield.1 point

Hi, I would like to have the ability, to create multiple Collection Libraries. Right now, I am using "Auto Box-Set" for grouping my movies in their default box set collections. But, I would also like to create different own collections - like "Sci-Fi Classics" [sci-fi from x - to 1986], "Horror Classics", or collections based on the Actors. Having all these Collections in only one library, will probably cause anyone to loose focus... Thanks and with best regards, Christoph1 point
