I took a quick look. There is no setting but his router is treating all WIFI as if it's on an isolated network. His router has a guest network but it's not being used. All outside IPs show up normally but all WIFI connections show up with the outside/WAN IP address. He gets a valid IP and from the server you can ping the client but all traffic flows through the router vs the switch. The workaround for Emby use was to add the ISP C block to the network section in Emby so it's treated as a local IP address. This is some type of BUG in the router code as this isn't normal.2 points

UPDATE: Locast2plex is still in beta and the developers are constantly making updates and improvements. To see the latest information refer to their GitHub page. They have recently updated to 0.5x beta which has changed the set-up instructions (basically they have now require the creation of an config.ini file in the set-up directory). It's pretty straight forward and they include the text within the readme. https://github.com/tgorgdotcom/locast2plex/blob/master/README.md I recommend using the "Command Line" set-up first so you can verify that it is operational, then if you want to automate the process create a Windows Service with NSMM. They are also working on updating the code to work with the most current release of Python 3.8, until they are complete you will need to use Python 2.7 -Logan I saw the Locast Integration post in the Feature Request forum and decided to give it a try. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/68679-locast-supportintegration/ I Love it! This really solves my issues with poor Local TV reception. I live on the edge a large metro area and have spotty reception that causes my Hauppauge Quad TV tuner to freeze on occasion…this really hurts the overall experience. Using Locast2Plex has solved all of my issues and brought the Emby experience almost back to the glory days of Windows Media Center For those not familiar with Locast2Plex here is what it does for me: · All OTA Local Broadcast Stations are now streamed (for me 35 Channels) · HD quality streams (1280 x720p for my streams, but varies by your Locast feed) · Up to 4 Concurrent streams · Record LiveTV · Pause LiveTV How to set-up Locast2Plex: Use this post as a guide - https://github.com/tgorgdotcom/locast2plex/issues/33 Subscribe to Locast (Donation of at least $5 monthly) https://www.locast.org/ Get the lasted Python 2.7x build https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-2718/ Install it the Directory of your choice, but make it easy, you may have to navigate to that directory by Command Prompt. (I suggest close to the Root) Get the latest Locast2Plex build https://github.com/tgorgdotcom/locast2plex Unzip it in Directory of your choice Get the latest version of FFmpeg https://ffmpeg.org/download.html Move the ffmpeg.exe file to the locast2plex directory you created Get the prerelease build 2.2.4-101 of NSSM https://nssm.cc/download Install in Directory of your choice, but make it easy... Run NSSM using the steps outlined in the post linked above. If everything goes as planned you should get a "Installed Service Successfully" prompt If not you will need to use the Command prompt to setup Locast2Plex - refer to the Readme file at GitHub for Locast2plex...some debugging may be required Start the Locast2plex service using the "Run" - services.msc command Add Locast2plex as a tuner in Emby Select HDHomeRun as TV Source type Input the Tuner IP Address you used during set-up (don't forget the port#) Add TV Guide data for OTA TV for your Locast area Map Channels (If required) Enjoy! With HDMI 2.1, I think an RTX 3070 is in my not too distant future. Anyone else feeling the urge to splurge?1 point

There is a permissions issue here but not related to Filmes. System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/volume2/Video - TV-Serien You can see in the log /volume1/Filme being removed from the database. This happens multiple times in that log. 2020-09-01 15:32:37.788 Info App: Removing item from database, Type: Folder, Name: Filme, Path: /volume1/Filme1 point

@DarWun I would bet you have to reset permissions just link this topic. Issue in 4.5.0.231 point

I figured it out. My fault. The issue was that I kept the other CoverArt.dll in the folder but I renamed it. I guess renaming it wasn't enough so the old and the new were being applied. Sorry for the mistake. BTW, the latest DLL works ideally. Very happy with your response. Thanks.1 point

The rendering engine in the desktop app has an issue where it does not respect windows scaling settings. That's the reason for the discrepancy.1 point

So messed up! Definitely seems like a bug in the Netgear Orbi firmware. Thanks for checking it out @cayars.1 point

Thanks for the xTeVe suggestion. I have that working now. It got rid of blank channels and I was able to limit the number of channels and it loads much faster now. I think Emby will be great once the Guide is closer to how Tivimate works. Just need to be able to see groups and channel names.1 point

Synology needs to be running the beta to resolve the known TrustFailure issues as discovered in dozens of topics. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/89593-emby-not-finding-songs-after-lidarr-rename/1 point

I think an interesting observation from the fact that so many people having troubles with emby and file permissions show that this area may need some face lift. I am not sure what exactly should be done. But some ways for force folders used by emby to be in a good state from permissions standpoint would be really welcomed, especially assuming that all emby customers have root access ans can allow say emby WebGUI to force permissions changes. Wonder if @Luke and dev guys think about this area?1 point

Alternatively, just reserve a DHCP IP (using the servers MAC address), that way it won't change and you can setup your port forward to that IP.1 point
-
Hi - so if it's working ok using DHCP, then we know fundamentally the networking layer is working as we would expect it to. On a DHCP enabled client - what are the allocation details - ie the IP, subnet and g/w addresses ? As long as you manually set a static IP outside the DHCP range but on the same subnet - then you should be good ...1 point

Hi if you left the display mode at default, and if we had the ability for you to increase font size, would that work?1 point

Not sure how much locast2plex allows you to do or how much anyone wants to modify the python code, but I implemented locast support into a player app I wrote with information gained from the locast2plex project so time to give back I found that once you get a locast account, you can set the DMA and lat/long to any market that locast supports and you can view the channels in that market without using a VPN. Works very well! The streams I have looked at so far are of average quality at best in terms of resolution and FPS, but they have been reliable.1 point

ok, the I try again. I will now exlude ACDC folder from the music libary. Will will do a re scan of the music libary. I will add ACDC as a new music libary folder. I will check results.1 point

It's an IPTV URL, option to play using external player is selected so URL is passed to the external player. If the external player needs to play the URL obviously external player must know the URL.1 point

This was the case and this is what I thought so I removed the music library and created a new one, perhaps Emby "hung on" to items in the cache folder? I just did a refresh and replace and yes it is working now! thank you1 point
-
refresh the metadata with replace images for that a-ha album i guess you did not always have save images into media folders enabled and the images you see would be in your cache folder - it only takes effect on new items after its enabled1 point

yep you wont get audio with this as you have told ffmpeg to just copy the audio " ffmpeg -i "%%m" -ss 00:00:00.0 -to 00:42:12.0 -c:a copy "%%~nm_shorter.mkv" and yes this will work as now you are adding for it to copy the video as well as the audio " ffmpeg -i "%%m" -ss 00:00:00.0 -to 00:42:12.0 -map 0:v -c:v copy -map 0:a -c:a copy "%%~nm_shorter.mkv" if you have run the above on each episode then yes they will all be 42:12 long as thats what you have specified - so only apply the time limit to the first episode not sure about the 7 second thing depends what else you have done or the original rips need doing again...?1 point

We apologize for the problem. There is no need for logs. We can reproduce. Stay tuned.1 point

Interesting as I can see this working, but I would be worried of corrupting the database.1 point
-
Let me say it a different way. You certainly don't want to edit your SQL database with a text editor. Text editors mark things with codes such as line feeds, character returns. They treat certain characters as end of file markers etc. SQL editors understand the data types of the fields, the lengths, foreign keys, indexes, etc that all come into play when data fields are changed. You may have gotten extremely lucky but also likely corrupted your database as well. Time will tell, but in the future don't do that! Did you at least backup your database before you edited it?1 point

I was thinking about that for a 75" I had but decided I got a lot more for the money picking up a Shield TV to use with it.1 point

Ok I deleted the folder structure, added a folder for Shorts and then added just the Bugs Bunny folder into Short. That worked, so I then added all of the remaining folder in and rescanned and seems to be okay now. I did combed through and removed those random symbols as cayars noted afterwards just to be safe. Thanks everyone for your help!1 point

I appreciate the comments from everyone. I did set up port forwarding already with Torguard. I did not however manually set it up in the TG client which will now be my next step. I was relying on the client auto-configuring it like it stated it would. I have also considered splitting it and letting Emby run outside of the VPN but I was just hoping to keep it all behind the VPN.1 point

@cayars @speechles Thank you guys for your responses, that makes a lot more sense. It would be a cool feature for the select few who do use Emby offline, but you're right, it would cause many more problems than it would solve (and it's honestly just a minor inconvenience to check in the device). I appreciate the time for your responses!1 point
