I would like the ability to adjust the playback speed of my videos and recordings. YouTube.com does this and i think it is a very convenient feature to have.1 point

I am switching over from a Win7 box running MBC to Chromecast dongles. With the Win7 box I had a HDMI to Cat6 setup that allowed me to stream to up to 4 displays/TVs simultaneously. It was great while it lasted, but involved stapling cables to the ceiling to run it from room to room - plus it has borked Can there be an option to multi-cast to several receivers at once? i.e. simultaneously play to Chromecast dongles in my office and living room and kitchen simultaneously so i can walk from room to room without stopping and restarting the movie or show all the time? I realize that bandwidth could POTENTIALLY be an issue, but i have a fill gigabit network and a multi-port NAS so that really is the least of my worries... Thank you!1 point

It would be great to be able to configure channel groups in LiveTV, which can be selected in the guide view (maybe as tabs) so that we can more quickly navigate to preferred channels using the d-pad. Perhaps start with Favorites by default, but be able to add custom groups (similar to collections) which we can add channels to (Network, Premium, Basic Cable, Kids, News etc.).1 point

Hello. Would be great to be able to adjust subitiles delay in Emby Theatre or Web client like we can in VLC with "H" and "J" shortcuts (up and down). Thanks !1 point

@Netfool I am ntot sure that there is a single way to do it and I am not aware of a guide The way I do it is via ChannelsDVR. Getchannels.com Channels has TV Everywhere integration. So if your TV provider gives you access to the networks channels via TV Everywhere then you can integrate those into ChannelsDVR. It is a great feature of that ChannelsDVR product. Then once you have a a TV source setup in Channels DVR has the ability to publish a M3U file and act as a proxy for that source for other devices/software. I have channels DVR installed on the same system as my Emby Server. I have configured Philo as a TV Everywhere source in channels and then I just point Emby to a M3U tuner at http://localhost:8089/devices/TVE-Philo/channels.m3u It works great. I know it seems like Channels is a competitor to Emby but really I do not think of it that way. The Emby UI is so much better IMO, the Media Library Management is so much better, and it is so extensible with the various plugins that can be created. Channels really shines in it's Live TV integration where it can use HDHR Tuners, has native Locast Integration, and has Native TV Everywhere Integration. So I sorta use Channels as a software tuner device for Emby but that costs me an additional $8 a month or $80 a year. I would certainly be willing to pay more for Emby Premiere, at least as much as I do for Channels if it had Locast and TV Everywhere Integration lie Channels. But right now with $5 for Emby, $5 month for Locast, $8 a month for channels, and integrate with Pluto for free +HDHR for backup if broadband is down I get a LOT of TV for $38 a month all integrated into Emby.1 point

I figured out how to reproduce this at will. For me install the 4 Movie & TV theme plugins by radeon from the catelog will produce the error on my test system. @Luke I believe this is caused by two cookies: _octo .github.com/ _ga .github.com/ I'm correct it should be an easy fix with the "SameSite" attribute in the cookie. But regardless of the cause (didn't look that much) it dies in alameda.js in this function on the fetch line at the very bottom. I also get a couple other errors as well but I think this may be the cause. It could very well be something in any one of the 4 radeon plugins that's responsible. But this may give you hints on how to reproduce it in .21 beta like I'm doing. function getFetchPromise(request, signal) { var headers = request.headers || {}; "json" === request.dataType && (headers.accept = "application/json"); var fetchRequest = { headers: headers, method: request.type, credentials: "same-origin" }; if (request.timeout) { var abortController = new AbortController , boundAbort = abortController.abort.bind(abortController); signal && signal.addEventListener("abort", boundAbort), setTimeout(boundAbort, request.timeout), signal = abortController.signal } signal && (fetchRequest.signal = signal); var contentType = request.contentType; return request.data && ("string" == typeof request.data ? fetchRequest.body = request.data : (fetchRequest.body = paramsToString(request.data), contentType = contentType || "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8")), contentType && (headers["Content-Type"] = contentType), fetch(request.url, fetchRequest) }1 point

Nice you got 3 years of free playback, that's awesome! Now how about actually paying for the product as intended since you got so much out of it already?1 point

Got to have it... plus it will help with the movie versions in the dropbox 3D, 4K, 1080p etc... Thanks Luke1 point

In reality inside the /cache folder are images the server uses to send to applications. These are resized and made to be bandwidth efficient without losing too much quality. Your original artwork is only really used to create these cache images on the server. Once the cache images are created for a client at the size requested those are used. When Emby saves images it keeps the original and the cache of that original image in sizes requested for each client on the server using GUID which are unique to each Emby server install. Emby storing images with media is to make rebuilding/relocating drives pain free and multiple Emby servers able to use the same original images without needing to download them again.1 point

@mark-in-dallas Thanks for the report. I have added this to our internal issue tracker so we won't lose track of this. We will see what we can do about this. Stay tuned. Reference: Issue #916: [Live TV] Schedule is not showing correct dates1 point

Cracked it - pressing TTX/MIX toggles between lowercase/uppercase/numbers/characters on the password field. So obvious, right? Thanks for all your help. Glad I'm finally logged in after 3 days of trying.1 point

HOLY WALL OF TEXT! In advance @cayars thank you for your reply although long I'm well aware of media and container formats however I am not Netflix nor am i Amazon so funding that many storage drives is not an option for my circumstances lol. I'm just a guy with with a few movies, alot of home video's and photos and a lot of different sized devices ahahaha. Well aware that multiply file formats are the most efficient for the none conservative but why convert in advance when you can convert on demand Love your product @Luke its a banger, I look forward to seeing your advancements to it going forward and hope for more media conversion work and plugins in the future. To me this would suggest the folder path for Stand-Up Comedy is already covered in another library. Is this Stand-Up Comedy folder a subfolder of a folder that is already in your Library?1 point

This would be great, especially for those movies where the length is significantly different. I've noticed this affects the ability to resume the longer version if the server reports the length as the shorter version.1 point

I believe the current beta is ready for release BUT my usage is very simple. While I have a large library I do not use live TV at all and I do ot use any remote functionality. I use Emby only for movies and TV and a large, but simple, photo library. That makes my usage very easy on server functionality so what I perceive as "ready for release" could be vastly different that what other users might perceive. In my case I use the beta for my regular Emby usage. But I do keep a "regular" Emby server active as a backup, "just in case." I have not really had a serious problem for a very long time and that is why I think the beta is ready for release.1 point
