Also, It would be cool if we have various m3u lists and have the option to choose/assign each m3u list for each user.. Example. In user settings we can choose which library to give them for VOD so this shouldnt be hard enough to do it for live tv too no? USER 1 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 2 - Playlist 3 USER 2 - Playlist 3 USER 3 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 3 Etc etc.... *** Delete this message from another topic I opened because I posted it by accident there1 point

With the multiple versions feature you get a pulldown in the web client to select the version. When you do, the other pulldowns for audio tracks and subtitles also change for that version. However the duration and the Ends At display remain the same even though the versions have different durations. Would it be possible to have those two fields in the display change with the chosen version? Thanks.1 point

Hi, I know it is possible to put different Versions of a movie into same folder and give them behind the "-" different names for identification. I use this feature very often, also if a movie is in 3D, HD and 4K available. Sometimes also special Extended Versions, etc. I also use this Feature for Multi-Movie Boxes, like Tarantinos Grindhouse. (Grindhouse (2007) - Death Proof, Grindhouse (2007) - Planet Terror) which work great. But I noticed, that the Chapter List in the Grid View don't refresh, for the newly chosen file. Is it possible to implement this, that you see the chapter list of the selected version?7 It's not a big deal and not a nobrainer, but it would be more elegant if this could work. Especially if different Movie Versions have different Chapters.1 point

I feel Emby is improving when it comes to performance. However it lacks compared to its competition on new features (skipping intro), or the UI of it's clients. So what would be the next "'BIG'' thing for emby?1 point

Yeah i'm all set i uninstalled the server from the laptop to prevent this from happening again and it's running the server hosted on my desktop again.1 point

I think the only way would be to manually create a Playlist with the episodes in the correct order. I'm sure this has come up before, when people discussed the various crossovers in Flash/Supergirl/Arrow etc.1 point

that might be how the web app is sending it but on the back end it is an int, and it comes out of the api on the server as an int.1 point

This issue will be resolved in Emby Server 4.5. Thanks.1 point

Ok I just did that and it worked like a charm! All is well in the world. I appreciate the quick help.1 point

Now I've unistalled Emby as the correct user, rebooted and installed it once again and it works! I must say I'm surprised as I haven't done anything on (settings etc) the box since the firmware upgrade several months ago1 point

Thank you for the extended description of what's happening. Helps a lot. Your log shows a couple of attempts: 2020-08-17 17:07:18.370 Info HttpClient: POST https://connect.emby.media/service/user/authenticate 2020-08-17 17:07:18.548 Warn HttpServer: AUTH-ERROR: ::1 - Invalid username or password entered. That is trying to login using Emby Connect. What happens when you use the username and password that is specific to your server that you used when you setup the server. IE the local admin account?1 point

Sounds like you need to enable the "Run server at startup" option in Settings. Does your PC auto login when it boots?1 point

My guess is Resolution, as I can force it to do as shown above by shrinking screen left to right via desktop.1 point

@cayars I will test this on your last post here, I will just add line at the end, then I will remove it, as just testing. Thanks.1 point

Hi, You mentioned "main server" so I'd like to ask if you have more than one server setup? If so do they have separate names? What client are you trying to login using that you have this problem with? Are you able to login to administer the server?1 point

So from a Extras standpoint anything ending in trailer will be treated as a Trailer. If you do not want this one will have to do another subfolder called say featurettes. But as argued in the other topic anything within the extras folder should be just that extras as trailers have there own rules and should not apply to the extras subfolder (but that is just my opinion).1 point

tbh I'd already tried the fields feature, but found it didn't make any difference to the files I generated, only what was shown in the browser, for example I deselected "Date Added" but it still ended up in the output file. Yes you're correct Path would be useful in all media types, but it only appears in Movies and Episodes for some reason. Though looking at the other types did make me realise I was entering Release Date at album level not song level, and when I do a report for Albums I DO get to see the release dates I entered, albeit without Path. So I can use this as a good base to collate release dates into, then all I have to do is figure out how to import that back into Emby.1 point

@mastrmind11 It looks as though now we can log the watched states between two account profiles after running the scheduledTask. So the only thing now will be to sync the two accounts together, by marking the media item "IsPlayed" param to true. Should be interesting.1 point

This is what I get Using -featurettes didn't work at all for me but I instead followed the naming conventions here in our knowledge base: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming So I just simply created a subfolder called featurettes and dropped those 3 files in there. Seems to work as designed. The trailer is pulled from the internet in this case as I didn't supply one.1 point

@Happy2Play I try it that way with the -featurrette, but in my Opinion it's a little bit a mess up, because trailers are not allways real trailers. In some rare cases they are extras, like here. Also in my case, If I have a the trailer for Thanksgiving / Don't or any other of the Fake Trailer, it's messed up. The Stuff in the trailer is not the stuff, which you see in the Grindhouse movies. It's just a small part of the movie itself... My library is still scanning1 point

Will have to find the topic but there is a issue with any item that ends with trailer in its name. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/88815-issue-with-one-specific-local-trailer But I am seeing the same issue you could do something like this. The Making Of Werewolf Woman of the SS-featurette.ext Death Proof - 11. Double Dare-featurette.mkv1 point

Removed the sutitles and it worked. Thank a lot! It is strange, because the movie plays fine with subtitles in VLC.1 point

Ok, the prototype is working! I'm relatively awful at coding and have never done frontend at all, so I'm sure plenty of things could be done better, but it works. It's meant to be run by an emby server owner, as it requires a server api key. It essentially reads the room leader's location, jumps room members to 10-ish seconds ahead of the room leader, and finally unpauses on queue. I tested it with 4 web clients and the android client all following my Chromecast within a couple seconds at once (total of 6 sessions). Clients may join any existing room, or create a new room. If a room does not have a leader when a client joins, it automatically becomes the leader. This can be overridden at any time. Only the client's own sessions are visible. If any client falls out of sync/halts playback, it resyncs immediately. You must log out of Emby Sync, or "leave room" to stop syncing. Sessions offline for more than 10 minutes will automatically stop syncing. To force a resync, rewind a bit on the out of sync follower. Emby clients only update the server with status info every second or so, so sync is only possible within a couple seconds in either direction. (Close enough for watching with friends online for sure!) CHROMECAST CANNOT ACT AS FOLLOWER FOR NOW, however, it can lead. You can also set the device casting to the chromecast to follow, as a workaround. You must use Incognito tabs if you want to test multiple players in the same browser. Running more than one player in the same browser in normal mode has unpredictable results, since the clients in the same browser share session id (same reason the dashboard is unreliable in this state). To try it out: Easiest is to just fire up the container and point your browser at https://127.0.0.1:5000 and log in using your Emby Connect username. (The Emby password is not stored, it is used against the emby API for auth only) Sorry, no local only emby accounts or emby email as logins right now. Only your clients which have been active within the last five minutes will be visible, if you don't see any clients to select, make sure the client is open, logged in, and recently interacted with. docker run --name emby-sync -e EMBY_SERVER='<emby_url>' -e SECRET_KEY='<emby_server_api_key>' -p 5000:5000 lastelement21/emby-sync:latest I've set it up in Docker Hub here: https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/lastelement21/emby-sync It's on Github here: https://github.com/cameronurnes/emby-sync Todo: Local user support, unpause when room leader unpauses instead of waiting/resyncing, test more clients, Chromecast as follower, adjust session cleanup task, try out using session info from api for unpause during sync instead of timers, consider using stored user access keys instead of API key1 point

Hi, If you know SQL you should be able to do a bulk import of the release date info if you have that info organized in some type of list that would match your database. You could likely do it in some form using the API as well. Do you have the release date info already for these titles?1 point

Hi. Why not use our Collections feature that doesn't depend on physical location?1 point
-
I spent the last day slamming something out. Still very alpha, front-end is completely not done yet, but did get the proof of concept running. In this vid, the right player begins playback on its own, starting 10 seconds ahead of the left, and unpauses automatically on time. Ends up about 1 second or less apart normally. Uses emby for auth,. and uses concepts of "rooms" and a "leader". Each room is a sync group, the leader is who everyone else syncs to. Project is in flask/python, and will have a web interface. At the moment, assumes every user has an Emby Connect account.1 point
