  1. Wouldn't hurt to be in both places. Best thing would be to not allow the user to enable Open Subtitles if there isn't a username present.

  2. These are the only two issues I can think of that I had outstanding for our emby client usage. Now no-one in the family cant accidentally delete an entire series (I hope the same gets to all other clients). I feel I can safely stop my midday backups of the recorded TV. I also love the green box around the current selection on my shield - that focus for me was always a bit hit/miss - thought I was getting old. I have 0 issues on the ShieldTV client now - and thanks very much for that.

  3. Thank you for your response. I think I found the problem. The Android TV device name had non-English alphabet letters in it. Once I changed the device name the app was able to connect. All the best, Yair

  4. I've been using EMBY since 2016 and I have to say I am happy to pay for the Premiere just now, just to support you guys for the great work and support you are providing. Even tho i was pretty certain I thought i did the app unlock in the past, It doesn't even bother me just to buy out the Premiere as it makes more sense just for the other features that come with it as well as to support the EMBY team.. keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing this app grow just as it has over the past 4 years that I have been using it! cheers!

  5. -= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars

  6. Request: add some information for the subtitle which is actually playing. Format of original, format of converted subtitle if converted, etc SFN shows 2/3 of the things that affect playback and the subtitle format information would be helpful in troubleshooting on the fly. When transcoding SFN can display something like transcoding because of unsupported subtitle format, but the format of the unsupported subtitle would also be helpful Also, it may be helpful if SFN could display if subtitle was streaming or burning in also

  8. Take a look at the bottom of your DASHBOARD view and you'll see a few entries for paths. Might look something like this (from Windows install) Logs: C:\Users\Carlo\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\logs Change "logs" to "plugins" and that should be the directory to drop the DLL into.

  9. Got a chance to spend a few minutes with @CathMowr and we got him setup. He was doing everything correct but his router is doing port forwarding of 8096 on it's own. We turned off UPnP, rebooted both the NAS and the router and it still port forwards 8096 incorrectly with ZERO port forward entries in the router. So we setup forwarding of port 8097 instead and now it works. Found out it's CathMowr's birthday today as well so again Happy Birthday! Carlo

  11. I agree. Right now I'm adding a drive to the media store. I'll switch the family to the Emby server on the (underpowered) Linux box while I try a total reinstall. I'm sure I'll be back with new questions and new adventures. Many thanks for all the help! -- Richard

  12. Don't actually know. I changed my password back to my old one and tried again and after a bit of time (possibly due to my Internet connection it changed to pin successful). All sorted anyhow.

  13. Are you on Windows? "Emby-Server/programdata/plugins" There is a complied version of the .dll file a couple replies back. Download the zip, place the .dll file into the folder mentioned above. Restart the server. Please let me know how you get on, I will keep watch to help you

  15. Thanks for that. I hadn't thought of using tags to manage the access. Bit of a duh moment...
    1 point
  16. Not sure exactly what you want to do with the guest access. If the intention is to only give access to a few movies or something like that maybe just add a tag "GUEST" to those items and then set the guest user account restrictions to only allow use of item with the GUEST tag. This way it's all controlled from Emby and no disc reorganization is needed.

  18. Hi GiGo, I just tested this and it should work fine for you. I created a user named "Template" that has no use and no watched status. Then I created user "Airbnb Guest1" and marked a few things played. I forced a backup, then did a restore with only one option selected which you can see. I set it to copy user Template to Airbnb Guest 1 and did the restore. This removed all watch status from the user which sounds exactly what you're looking for. The only downside to this approach is that the restore process requires an Emby Server restart.

  19. Solved my own issues... deleted the existing xml data and restarted server. Seems to be working now.

  20. Hi. The short answer is no. The system is designed as client/server with the apps talking to the server for a number of operations during use/playback.

  21. Hi. We apologize for the confusion but this app has always required either Premiere or an app unlock for playback past its trial period. There was an issue previously that was granting free access when it shouldn't but the app description and our feature matrix have always been clear about this. This isn't a change we just decided to do. Thanks for your support.

  22. Only what is already buffered or explicitly downloaded, I would assume, and even then I'm not sure how far the client can go without checking in with the server. However, I'm not clear of the details in all circumstances; for instance, I don't know whether all streaming comes via the server, or whether there are circumstances in which the client takes data directly from network storage - but I'm pretty sure that even if that happens the server still has some control. I can't imagine "next episode" working without it. But note that my comments are those of an interested technically-minded outsider, and not authoritative! Paul

  23. I have sent the log. I will PM you the username I use on Emby user for privacy. For more info, I purchased the app previously on the Amazon account the Fire TVs are connected to back in August of 2018. There seems to be a lot of confusion in here about that. For everyone to check if they have purchased it, log in to the Amazon account and go to this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/your-account/order-history/?opt=ab&search=emby You should see a purchase like mine that is attached.

  24. Hi there, I apologize for the frustration and disruption. The app has always required either Emby Premiere or the one-time unlock, and this has always been outlined in the store description. What happened in your case is that there was a defect in the app causing it to inadvertently grant free access in certain situations after the trial period had expired. It was an issue we had to correct and that is why it's now asking you for the unlock or Premiere purchase. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We thank you for your support.

  25. I've always used USB3 HDDs for the parity. I certainly have some USB3 drives that are faster than many internal drives so I'm not sure about the speed thing.

  26. Hey @mastrmind11 so we want to sync watched data across two accounts? We need to do an initial sync, and then updated watched status from one account to the other when it changes? Let's do this!

  27. Mine worked on Amazon FireTV for about 6 months without having to pay. Not sure if it was because I paid for premium for a month when I started using it. I paid the $5 to unlock and now it's working again. I'd rather stick with emby than move back to Plex and I can't complain about the price.

  28. There was clearly a licensing feature not working as intended on android applications. It's always been the case that you need to pay to use the apps. if up until now you have not had to pay then you got lucky. Pay the measly 5 bucks to get your unlock, Emby developers do a fine job and deserve to get paid. By the way, google eat 30% of that $5 so really they are only getting 3.50 per unlock.

  29. Not every platform has a marketplace for such a thing and, on the ones that do, entering those marketplaces bring with it a raft of other issues we have to consider. Our server is designed as a personal and family media server. For those wishing to use it for large-scale users, we provide extended license subscriptions for that.
