Hey guys, so after a very long time I have beta.22 ready It a complete rewrite of the frontend but I also added some new features. I hope you like it. Small warning, the show pages are missing in this release because I first wanted to have soe feedback on the movie pages (and otherwise it would take me even ore time to set up a new release. Also, I added some flags for subtitle and audio channels. If you find a language that has a wrong flag (or no flag at all) let me know. I don't want to start any political war because I picked a wrong flag. Changes - Moved to React (a complete rewrite of frontend) - Added authentication - Added user role supported (currently only 1 admin account can be created) - Fixed duplicate movie sync (large speed increase ) - Disabled shows for now (will be included in the next release) - Disabled user pages for now (because they are broken anyway) - Added movie table with filters - Added --listen-urls to startup parameters - Disabled library selection (not sure how to add it into the dropdown and also not sure if anyone was using that feature) You need a clean install for this version because you need to create a user account Happy testing! https://github.com/mregni/embystat/releases2 points

Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)1 point

To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.1 point

These are using 3.1.25. I don't know how to go back on the Android... But I noticed this change immediately - it's an appreciable difference. Paul1 point

I've noticed this too. Here's a comparison. These subs are ASS, so should be well defined in terms of size and so on. The first image is played on my Android using the beta, and the second on my desktop using MPV; the third, although it's scaled to fit my browser window, shows that the Emby web client matches the MPV rendering accurately, unlike the Android: @cayars The client settings are for SRT subs, and I haven't checked those yet. This comparison is for ASS subs which the client settings shouldn't affect because they contain the presentation information within themselves. Paul1 point

I think it only washes out if transcoding. I'm pretty sure I've done some direct streaming and my TV still triggers HDR. However, I do my best to always Direct Play so I make sure I select compatible tracks first. JulesC maybe we should be looking at why it's transcoding on the LG and/or Samsung TV first before you pull the trigger on the Shield. If you aren't going to hook the Shield directly to a sound system that plays HD audio I don't know if the Shield will benefit you that much. Unless you just like the ATV app The LG and Samsung apps should both direct play 4K movies as long as you choose a lossy sound track before playing.1 point

Thanks for the feedback. We are looking at improving this.1 point

Yea unfortunately that's because of this: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209292 So we're just doing our best to work around it until it's resolved. So I'll have to tweak the hacks we have a little bit more.1 point

Thanks to all for your input. I plan to start with the Pro for the 4K TV in our media area. I’ll check out the Tube for the TVs in our other rooms (i.e. bedroom). FYI - I can play 4K remux movies using the Emby app on our LG TV, but I have to tune down the audio and video to make it work. The video appears to be a little washed out.1 point

I believe the issues identified with the tube version have been tracked down to a memory leak in the firmware so an update from Nvidia may make that a suitable box.1 point

Awesome. Thanks. I must have turned that on a long time ago and forgot. It must be user specific though, not app.1 point

Only for each user. The Roku app will then read that user's preference.1 point

OK that makes sense about having to side load if not in US/UK/Ireland. I guess I don't get the rest of the post about things not working. Seems like the OP might be apposed to anything he can't use for free.1 point

@Sammy, you need to delete your current database file and set the WizardFinished = false in the usersettings.json Or you can just delete your installation completely and install a new instance.1 point

Forgot to mention you need a clean install. I'll edit the previous post and github release.1 point

I have an Nvidia Shield TV (Tube). I play UHD remux files like this, without problems: The device is powerful enough to play those files, I can't understand why other user have issues. Yes, it's 32 bit and only 2 Gb RAM but I think that is enough to play all kinds of content. The problem must be something with the firmware in specific scenarios. But the truth is that many users have problems, perhaps it is better not to risk and choose the Pro model. I took a risk and it worked for me.1 point

Du übersiehst was, versuch mal folgendes: 1. Filter auf Episoden 2. Klick auf die drei Punkte direkt daneben. 3. Im Fenster, dass sich seitlich öffnet sind weitere Filtermöglichkeiten, inkl. der zum Filtern auf "Missing Episodes" Schau mal ob das weiterhilft, kann dir sonst auch noch Screenshots anhängen.1 point

Are you speaking of your IP address on your end for Emby Server to be accessed remotely? Having a static IP or not is a feature of the internet service you have, your provider may or may not provide static IPs to you, and if they do, it may be extra cost. An alternative is a dynamic DNS provider, so, remote users can use the dynamic DNS name to access your server instead of an IP address. I use such a service, which is provided by my router manufacturer ASUS. Something needs to keep the dynamic address up to date with the dns name, in my case, the router does that for me. If my IP changes, then the router updates the DNS record and it still points to me. If you have a router that does not, there is other software out there to do so.1 point

On the Roku go into the library you want to set and press the star "*" key. In the resulting menu choose "set default tab" and then choose what you want as default. You will need to do that on each Roku you have and I think for each user.1 point

When playing back a file in the client video player you can open Stats for Nerds overlay which will tell you this information. You can also look at the Server Dashboard to see if it's Direct Playing, Direct Streaming or Transcoding. That is what Luke is asking you.1 point
