Hi as i can see the exoplayer is nearly to get a major update like allowing Dolby Vision from .mkv containers and looks like MKV standard it's nearly to support it and as soon the MKV get support for DV (Dolby Vision) exoplayer will be upgraded as soon. But I also would like than Emby add some transparent icon or something that display than the content is well in Dolby Vision and Atmos an Transparent icon/tag/logo for exemple at the beginning at the movie during 10 Seconds (Usually the time of the intro scene) and at the movie UI Wil be nice. Support Dolby Atmos + Vision with and logo/icon/tag whatever you want(I prefer a tag and a icon) on the movie, music UI to see than that movie have that support i also know than other concurrents are working on this implementation. So hope than emby is the first one. Nvidia Shield already support Dolby Vision and Atmos and many tv and sound bars support Atmos unfortunately there is no info on the movie,music UI to show us properly than the movie,music have Atmos and/or have Dolby Vision. And also create a filter to add this as a tag to select directly the movie have Atmos and/or Dolby or each one (Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos) Like this. VOTE UP for this enhancement Kind regards

When setting up a new user I think it would be great if I could copy an existing user. Even better if you could copy certain aspects of a user like views , library access , parental settings

SOLUTION : Il faut modifié le fichier system.xml ( emplacement : Emby-Server\config\ ). I was extremely surprised to find that there is a statically coded limit set on search results in the web client especially when I found it's set so low as 30. For anyone with large libraries this makes the search almost useless. I have over 100 albums with the phrase "Now that's what I call music" in them. Trying to search those to give a limited subset of my music collection in order to check through them returned 30 of them and an apparently random 30 at that. I've manually upped the limit on my server to 130 in the javascript for now, but that's not exactly an ideal scenario and will get reset every time I upgrade. Please guys, let's have full paginated search results for any search term entered as with just about any other search system in the world. Please Pretty please with bells on?

As I said before, that the best I can do with this theme regarding firefox issue, your option to use another browser like Chrome that work well. I fixed many issue with this dark theme, the dev of the theme did not help in anything at all. I consider to build a dark theme myself, away from any custom css, but did not have a time for it lately, maybe in the future I will.

Just use Tags for this.

As soon as the TV app gets all of the advancements that we are working on here: Then you should see better starting performance. It shouldn't be too long.

Psuedo TV wouldn't have to be anything other than a number of playlists with some abiity to log and count time I imagine? It locks in an order for all and then when you switch between them, if knows that as the current time is let's say 12:05 pm, this particular file file should be playing and at 5:07. This would allow the switching between playlists like TV channels which accurate time passed in each. If you need to make an edit to a playlist, it resets the feature, creates a new order and updates the times.

You can use the free Cloudflare version (I do) and a domain name is pretty cheap. You can do this without a domain name but it's so much nicer with one. Try going to one of the domain registers such as namescheap.com and see if you can find a domain you like. sammy.tv is taken btw. I use a domain that has the TV extension just because it kind of goes with Emby. I'll make you an offer. If you can find a domain you like don't purchase it yet. I want to do a walk though article for the knowledge base so I'd help you set the whole thing up in Teamviewer if we can take pictures (we'll overwrite any personal info). So the article would cover firewall forward rules, purchasing a domain, setting the domain up in Cloudflare, pointing it to your system, generating SSL cert in Cloudflare, converting the cert to the type Emby needs including an auth password, setting up Emby to use Cloudflare along with a couple of tweaks/rules used in Cloudflare to boost performance. We can chat via PM if you are interested.

As I'm sitting home and my family is using Emby more and more I have started thinking about what a pain it would be if the machine I have Emby on at home suddenly stopped working for whatever reason. I'd love some info on what people are doing to mitigate the downtime associated with setting up a new machine, backup, restore, etc. Anything slick that would make it easier? I know this is kind of a vague question but I'd love to hear if there is anything that people have come up with. Thanks

Keep in mind, it's not like Emby isn't listening or trying to help with things they can now. But because they ARE listening have decided to handle many of these things from the ground up to fix systemic issues that you can't really patch. It takes a bit of time but is the correct approach for everyone long term.

The one thing you don't want to do is jump in full bore into a new OS that you aren't familiar with and expecting Emby to work. You'll likely have storage or permissions issues from lack of understanding of "best practices" on the new OS. If you setup a small test system then you can learn the ins and outs without being under pressure!

Best I see it's metadata related. If besides some pics not showing or updating and you aren't seeing any actual problems then I'd say your fine and can ignore these errors until the problem gets solved.

I've spent the past 35 years working with lots of software, including 25 years running a software development company so know the difficulties, but also the importance of listening to users and giving accurate information back when they take the trouble to provide it, and, especially when, as you correctly say, they are typically more IT aware.

You could do the dummy episode thing but this would likely only work for your USER name and not others on your server. Yes a plugin could be made but this would likely only be needed by you so unless you write it I don't think there would be any demand for it. You might be better off making a copy of your library.db, learn a bit of sql and just fixing this info that way.

In your setup that would have all the temp and cache stored on SSD.

So just a follow up - this plugin has made the big question of how to manage 4K content SOOOOO much easier. I've now been able to delete my multiple '4K Collection' versions and keep them all in a single collection (along with the 1080p versions etc) and clients only see what they are permissioned to see from that one collection. BINGO ... I'm really not sure why this is not in the Core code - is there a technical reason as presumably, it's just matching tmdb ID's ?

Well, I think you've made a convert out of me. The setup (and learning curve) took 8 to 10 hours (my connectivity problems were solved by changing the network mode from "bridge" to "host")--but I like how now my mission-critical emby setup is (hopefully) no longer subject to package mis-matches, etc, like I've had more than once in the past. @saulfred Emby for Kodi creates a TV Tunes.nfo file that points to video, and audio theme files as it is now. TV Tunes uses the locations written to TV Tunes.nfo by Emby 4 Kodi to play theme videos in some skins. When a movie or TV Show doesn't have a video backdrop, the TV Tunes addon has the option to use a local trailer as a backdrop instead but this option currently doesn't work because Emby 4 Kodi doesn't write local trailer locations in TVTunes.nfo Is there any way to update E4K to write local trailer locations to TV Tunes.nfo files?

Because it is useful to know what time it is.

Yeah the UWP platform is not ideal from what I understand of it. I just hate to think someone's first or only experience of Emby might be from the Windows store.

You can now set whatever bitrate you want in the max bitrate setting.

@Luke the only variable I just found is item with no Parental rating will play local trailer. All item with a set parental rating will not play local trailer. This is with the Smart Parental Control setting disabled. When I get a chance tomorrow I will do some DB editing to trailers applying OfficialRating and/or InheritedParentalRating to see what happens.

Sorted MediaItems table with Type 10 Only thing that really stands out is local trailers do not have really any metadata vs online trailers. But they have genres and studios. Local does not have any OfficialRating but would think that would only apply to smart parental control. Local has 0 for InheritedParentalRating vs online has a value. No Parentids for Local trailers

I updated my dedicated Emby machine to 2004 this morning, and there has been no issue at all. Emby is installed in the user profile in the default manner (it is installed in the administrator user as this runs as a dedicated server). I have updated five other machines (not running Emby server) over the past couple of months, all with no issues, except one case where an audio driver that is unsupported and only works in Windows 10 with an unofficial patch needed to be reinstalled and repatched - but that was expected. If I used the nVidia patch for number of hardware transcoding streams I would check if that needed reinstalling or updating. Paul

How about exclusions.... ie +Comedy, +Sitcom, -Animated, -Animation, -Anime In my Action Movie channel I don't want animated or G movies. The checkbox for everything must be true... Well, what if I enter Disney | Pixar for studio, but I know that they aren't all marked with Studio info, so I include Disney | Pixar in the tags. Now it won't show up unless it's it has a studio AND tag with Disney | Pixar. If I don't mark it, does it act like and OR? WHERE Studio IN ('Disney', 'Pixar') OR Tags IN ('Disney','Pixar') ? Just trying to work out all the ins and outs

Any news on this? I'm not sure if all of my collections are doubled, but I certainly have many duplicated collections. It would be nice to find the root cause of this and resolve it, whether it's a bug that needs fixing or something I need to do on my end, so this stops happening.

I used Windows for many years. A while ago I decided that enough was enough. In addition to paying for a license, and to that we add that Microsoft uses its "data vacuum" to earn more money with the information that they get from me, even for what I write. No thanks. so it's over. So, I passed everyone to Linux in my house, even my wife who NEVER in her life had used Linux. She had no problems with the change. My Emby server also went to Linux, and is installed on the computer that I use every day and I keep it on 24/7, because turning it off, it just does not make sense: D Seriously, I never thought to see my wife using Fedora 29 and Libre Office (real story) LOL Emby runs awesome in my personal workstation with 8X10TB HDD each, full of media , and that's is one of the advantages with Linux, the server is always there
