As I mention in a related post, I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! It would be awesome to extend this functionality to TV Series as well. Specifically to add support for many/all of the same folders supported for Movie Extras, eg, extras specials shorts scenes featurettes behind the scenes deleted scenes interviews trailers As well as any additional folders that get added in the future (eg, hopefully Galleries). Support Placement of "Extras" Folders Within Each Season Folder, Plus A Naming Scheme to Link A Particular Extras Folder with a Specific Episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes): I want to clarify that it would be great if these various "extras" folder types could reside within each Season folder. So for example, within a Season 1 folder we could then have an "Extras" folder, a "Deleted Scenes" folder, a "Featurettes" folder, etc. And furthermore, that we could designate a particular folder to refer to a specific episode (eg, "\Season 1\E1 - Deleted Scenes\" for episode 1 deleted scenes). See more below, particularly why I think this would be so useful: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55915-emby-server-theater-additional-extrasspecial-folder-types-for-tv-series-similar-to-movies/&do=findComment&comment=587195 Thanks for your consideration! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.1 point

I would love the ability to increase the size of subtitles on the different platforms, specially android, chrome and roku... One additional thing that would be great would be the ability to change font color, outline, drop shadow, font background... Thank you1 point

Hello. Would be great to be able to adjust subitiles delay in Emby Theatre or Web client like we can in VLC with "H" and "J" shortcuts (up and down). Thanks !1 point

Is it possible to add a bitrate for users that are direct(whatever) something? It's good info, and readily available. Thanks1 point

To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.1 point

Personally my only reason to still use Kodi with the Emby plugin and not the Emby App is the lack of the ability to select "download subtitle" during playback. This is a killer feature in Kodi, and I hope you guys can consider bringing it to Emby, I do have my Admin area set to automatically download subtitles, but many times (even so I have the option to only download exact matches) the subtitle is not the right one to the video file version, and the ability to just download a new subtitle on the fly is very welcome. Hope you guys can consider this Null1 point

OK because one of the things you can do with antenna based system is to run a direct coax cable to the TVs from a splitter. Most TVs work pretty well with coax attached. LOL That way you have TV on the TV (old school) and can use Emby for DVR purposes. That will save you tuner ports as well.1 point

My understanding is that remote access is not accessible until you port forward or dlna has allowed emby ports through. I think you can also specify networks that should only be considered local manually and to remote site 2 and 3 is usually place on a different natted subnet this bandwidth rate limits will apply1 point

Just an update: PS4 Update 7.50 Fixes Web Browser Video Playback Prior to the release of PS4 update 7.50, the quality of the video player in the web browser was pretty poor, with images noticeable squashed. Now however, it’s all been patched up and works fine, so you can enjoy some quality videos via the PS4 browser.1 point

https://emby.media/download.html Listed there is all the software you would need to setup a server and clients. Content not included.1 point

I don't see how you gained anything from this. If all you want is super simple and being able to "tune tv" without pause/rw/ff, shared tuners, etc then why not just split the cable, boost the signal and run coax to each TV and not use software at all?1 point

Thanks. This should be available in the next release (in beta now).1 point

It need not be a huge task with the help of a good utility such as Filebot. You're going to be far better off especially when you can then set the libraries to save metadata locally into the movie/show libraries. You're problem is that you're in a situation where anything done to a folder affects every video in that folder vs each movie being in it's own folder. Send me a PM and we can arrange a TeamViewer remotes session. You can show me your present setup and I'll help you with the best method to get this done or just help you do it depending on size of task.1 point

Got home from work and back to it, I moved the entire series to another hard drive, Deleted the show via the EMBY menu. Ensured there was no folder left on the library drive, Made a new one, and copied the 1st three seasons back (with their original The.Simpsons.S00E00 naming) and they all loaded alright. So seems the issue was something in the 'viewed' log, but clearing all, and re-loading got the job done. Thanks for the assistance.1 point

Thanks for doing that. If that's what they say, then we'll submit the request again right now. Let's see what happens.1 point

First step I'd recommend is following the naming guide for setting up your movies in both layout and names. filebot is a great tool for renaming things correctly that completely agree with Emby. It can do both movies and tv shows. The key to the above is to make sure Emby always has the best chance to identify the movie and not get mismatched metadata or the wrong graphics due to a mismatch in folder/file name, etc. Next do you want to have collections for movies like all the Back to the Future or all the Terminator series created for you? If so Emby can do this automatically for you with the Auto Box Sets Plugin. These Box Set are a really nice touch for most systems. Knowledge base article: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001162222-autoboxsets Now here is where things get interesting. For putting together lists of movies for an actor, director, producer, etc OR movies of a particular type like "Joan of Arc", "CIA/NSA" you can use either COLLECTIONS or PLAYLISTS. If you use the Box Set Plugs you may want to reserve collections strictly for the Box Sets and use Playlists for these other unique categories which gives you a separation of functionality which you may or may not want. Admin prerogative on this choice. I personally like using Collections only for the Box Sets AND a couple hand made collections such as "Steven Spielberg Collection" or "2019 Oscar Nominations". The "Collection" to me is things that don't change unless a new movie comes out that fits the collection. I personally use the Playlist functionality for groups of similar theme movie but not a collection. So I create several Playlists based on THEMES such as CIA/NSA Movies, Submarine Movies, "Airplane Movies". So your "Joan of Arc" would be a theme just as "Chinese History" or anything else you can think of to group themed movies/shows together. So that's the way I tend to use these features which is logical for me and my family. Does that help you? Carlo1 point

I suggest checking into what vdata suggested to force the Shield to sleep when he turns off the TV. Also, make sure they did not disable the "Are you still watching" prompt setting in the app as that will shut it down automatically eventually.1 point

What device does he have? If his TV is CEC compliant he can enable "Sleep Device" by turning off the TV. It works for me. In my bedroom I set the sleep timer on my TV and when the TV turns off the Shield goes to sleep mode.1 point

Hi I searched if a thread already exist. I can see that the answer is YES. I confirm that should be here since a while now. Maybe you could add this feature in your next roadmap ? I think your product is mature but now we need some features ( basic feature ) in this case thank you1 point

@Luke Has there been any progress with regard to implementing audiobooks? Seriously, the primary things that are lacking are for Continue Listening to queue the whole book, and for a book's Album page to have a Resume button that remembers which track was last played. Other possible additions are quality-of-life improvements, but without those two things it's nearly unusable.1 point

The /d -3 will make sure this only deletes files with a creation date older than 3 days. You should be able to make this /d -1 That will will clean up files older than 1 day. The chance of still using a temp transcode older than a day is very slim. With something like this you could schedule it to run every hour as well.1 point
