Would be great if can limit the device per users. The simultaneous streams don't prevent to user to login on another device and it will consume the space for the devices limits on Emby Premiere.2 points

Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless1 point

Often times when I see "Reason for transcodng: Media bitrate exceeds limit." in the info I wonder, what kind of internet connection do they have? I know this can cover multiple scenarios like bandwidth limit set for user, server, client side quality setting, as well as AUTO bandwidth detection... Can you PLEASE add to the dashboard the returned client bandwidth capabilities? The value you are getting from the client that tells emby its bandwidth abilities. While you are at it tighten up the spaces between lines on the transcode items, and align the results to the right instead of center.. MAYBE SOMETHING LIKE THIS :1 point

With the recent changes to the way playback is handled where the server can pick the playback method based on your max stream bitrate setting in the client it would be good to know what your client is capable of when connecting to the server. I have added a RAW, well as raw as I can get connection speed test to the client to help set the max streaming settings. This will try to determine your max throughput from the server you currently have in the settings and allow you to use it is your max streaming setting. This test will run the first time it sees a new server or you can run it from the main Add-on menu from under the Add-on action menu.1 point

This afternoon I was watching a movie when the movie frozen, then Roku rebooted. When it came back to life the Emby Roku app had updated. I picked up where it left off and played the rest of the movie perfectly. The problem is the display of movies in a collection. Since the update now displays the movies horizontally with only 3 movies on showing without scrolling. The box surrounding the movie poster is laid out is landscape with the poster a portrait inside. What a waste of space. Can't this layout issue be fixed1 point

RESOLVED! @cayars was able to TeamViewer in and see that I had the wrong local https port set. For some reason I overlooked that setting after restoring the server from a backup. Entering the correct local https port to match the public https port that I was actually using fixed the issue. Thank you all for your support - amazing software!1 point

Hi, after using emby on my Samsung TV for a while I always noticed something odd with the Subtitle. If the subtitle line is long it does not make it show like 2 lines like the screenshot below it shows the subtitle in a long sentence instead. I thought at the beginning its maybe because Arabic Subtitles are not very supported like others but then I tried with other languages like English/German and got the same result so my guess is that emby is not rendering the srt subtitle correctly. I use emby also on my Smartphone and my PC and there is no such a Problem there. I hope you understood what I mean and see if its fixable. Best regards Edit : I tried with both internal and external subs and its the same. In case you want to know that. However If I have a Movie with PGS Subtitle and play it emby will transcode the Movie because PGS are not supported on Tizen and the subtitles shows perfect and without any Problem Samsung TV : Samsung UE55RU7379 Curved-LED- (138 cm/55 Zoll, 4K Ultra HD) Samsung firmware version: latest update from Samsung Samsung Emby client version #: latest1 point

Hi. The current release of the Apple TV app is an online app. The application itself is loaded from the internet. The next release will not be this way. For the web app, we'd have to look at a specific example to know what was happening there. Thanks.1 point

emby is an app that reads information from your hard drive and organizes it into libraries. if you delete everything off your hard drive (which you did by reinstalling the OS), emby has nothing to read. i'm not sure why you think emby devs can recover files you deleted on your personal server. since it appears you have no idea how computers work, perhaps you can find a more technical person in your area to come take a look at your computer and verify that you in fact did actually delete your photos, or perhaps they are on a different hard drive/partition/folder that you don't know how to find.1 point

hi @tzutzu no. I didn’t forward any port. my goal isn‘t to reach the server FROM outside. the problem is that the server (emby) DIDN‘T reach the outside. the synology itself reaches the internet. greets1 point

English suggestion for the filter: "Contains" just add a (s).1 point

We have a team of developers, and we keep most of them isolated from the forum to ensure as much of their time is spent on development as possible.1 point

Very pleased to see that changes will be made to collections, as the single row is brutal and different from how Emby works on other platforms (eg: Android App).1 point

This thread is the very reason why I previously advocated that the Feature Requests needed to be tracked and prioritized into a true feature list. It's just good engineering practice. (1) Make a total list of requests; (2) prioritize based on immediate need vs nice to haves; (3) keep the list running based on what is currently being worked vs what is still in the upcoming stage; (4) make the list visible to all on where each request item is in the development cycle so that all can see and then they don't have to keep asking these questions (they can readily see what has already been requested) and you might cut down on some duplicate requests; (5) check off accomplishments as you go so that all can compare what has been requested vs what has been implemented. (6) major fixes and problems with current capabilities get priority interrupt over current development and future nice to haves. In my world its called the IMS & IMP (integrated master schedule, integrated master plan) but at its heart is just a simple prioritized "to do" list that can be checked off when things are "done". Otherwise you're just running an ad-hoc railroad and no one knows what time the trains get to any of the stations. It probably cuts down on having to give a lot of canned responses to "yes it's planned for the future". They can be directed to the list and see where it is in the future and probably stop bugging you about when. Just a suggestion. I myself have resigned to not worrying any more about when things are coming since the things I'm more concerned about seem to be a good distance into the future. But to give yourselves some well deserved peace at night (meaning sleep) as developers it might help to give folks a notional plan just to let them know where they stand in the pecking order. For me personally, the things that Emby can't currently deliver, I am having to use other platforms to augment. When and until Emby get's them I'll continue that way. I'll certainly be glad when Emby gets them but I can't deny myself using them knowing that they exist waiting on Emby to implement. Again I'm certainly pulling for you guys because I like the direction that you're going but for my personal use full functionality is not quite there yet. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work. We're all pulling for you. Thank you1 point

Yes, we plan to improve the way collections are displayed. Thanks.1 point

I've sadly had to turn collections off due to this change. It's an annoyance, but not as much as losing the grid layout. I somewhat understand the reasoning due to mixed media, but I'd venture a guess that's a smaller number of users than those of us who just group a category like "Movies" into collections so we don't have to see 9 Star Wars or 3 John Wicks or 300 Fast and Furious titles in the initial category.1 point

I too was surprised by the update... my collections used to be a nice, navigable grid, and are now a single horizontal line showing three items at once. This is virtually unusable! My collections are all of the same type of media, and I desperately want my grid view back. We always open a collection (for example, current TV shows), and browse the grid to see what we want to watch next. This was a beautiful, intuitive, and functional interface that has now become unusable. One more thing that changed for the worse (dropped back, actually): the number of episodes shown on the folder in the collection view used to diminish by one each time you watched an episode. Now you need to exit the collection and re-enter to update this number (this is how it used to be a long time ago – we've regressed!). Please fix these issues! Thank you.1 point

If I understand you correctly, I will get the display I want if no single collection contains more than 30 items. I have 2 collections that have more than 30 items so I deleted them and rescanned the database thinking that the display will change. The results are the same, can only see three items before I have to scroll right.1 point

I left a PM to explain what to do. I have a few hours this morning to chase this otherwise it may take until tonight before I can check this. It is my daughters 21st birthday today. Going to do the cake, gifts, and then let her go bar hopping with her friends. Every 21st birthday involves booze and that is natural. Drink with your parents is lame. I agree.1 point

This is something we plan to do. There are a number of related feature requests for it out here.1 point
