Conjuring this one back up because for multi disc music albums I'm having a tough time sometimes figuring out what is what. I have multi-disc albums anywhere from 2 to 100 discs big and just the label Disc # isn't always meaningful unless I pull out the physical disc and read what the covers say. The bigger the boxset the more important the disc title information becomes. For my 100 disc boxset of Beethoven music I can't make out what is what without the physical cover telling me as I'm not an expert in classical music. If you could pull the "Disc Title" id tag and append it to the Disc # label then I wouldn't have to pull out the physical cover for the CD to know what I'm playing. Single discs don't have this information in musicbrainz so it wouldn't affect them at all. This isn't the same thing as the Album Title. This is the label used to name individual discs within a multi-disc boxset This information is pulled from musicbrainz using mp3tag/picard As seen on musicbrainz https://musicbrainz.org/release/98179890-158a-4e69-8ef0-4b3c9edee0b3 As mentioned above this is where it probably would be a good place to put it3 points

I mean plex isn't a good comparison, most of you guys (emby users) are ex-plexers... if plex was so great....... well... this is emby... Its different. lol why do we need two plexes? Its like buying a Ferrari and gluing a Volkswagen emblem to the hood because YOU liked the W look.. to each their own I guess.3 points

It occured to me while ripping an audiobook today that many (audio)books that have "books", or "parts", or whatever separating them have subtitles for those parts. For example, Fellowship of the Ring: Book I - Return of the Shadow. And then it occured to me that, in lieu of playlists, I have combined my Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter soundtrack albums together into franchise-inclusive albums instead of having, say, eight Harry Potter albums or ten Star Wars albums. But though I separated each source album in the combined one by "Disc Number", it would be better if I could label them. So I request the ability to attach a label each "disc", for audiobook and/or music libraries.2 points

Go to Dashboard-Logs to activate Debugging. As noted you have to restart your server when enabling and disabling debug logging. You can get your logs from the same place if you don't what to navigate to the logs folder, path is shown on Dashboard Paths section.2 points

I am looking to see if a SAML2/OAuth plugin is something others would use. I myself would love this feature to share Emby publicly with family members and friend and worry a little less about insecure passwords that some may use. I personally am a big advocate for security as I work in IT and see how a lack of good security can cause havoc. I love Okta and what it offers. Anyone can sign up and use it for free under 1000 users if you sign up as a Developer. That is just plain awesome. Let's see who else is interested. I am excited to find out! Thanks1 point

... as I was tired of manually grouping all my movie versions into groups after each recreation of the db, I created a plugin to help with that. The use case is having movies, that belong together spread around and not being able to easily match the emby naming conventions, but still having the desire to present them as one item with multiple versions. The plugin works similar to the auto boxsets, but does the "movie versions grouping" - it will group all movies based on their TMDB id into one item, regardless of where they're placed and how they're named. I made that for myself - however, if anybody is interested, attached is a plugin that solves this issue. Attached version is for current 3.6.0.49 beta Server, do NOT use it with stable release! Plugin is alpha state, you should only use it, if you are willing to backup your db (there is no way to revert the changes otherwise!) and manually put the dll in the server plugin directory. Do not use it in your production environment before having tested in a test environment that you're fine with what it does - seriously! ;-). Note: There is a known bug in the web GUI presentation which is described here, which needs to be fixed on emby side. Edit: the mentioned display bug in BoxSets is fixed in Emby now, thanks Luke. AutoCollections-for3-6-0-49-betaServer.zip AutoCollections-for3-6-0-75-betaServer.zip AutoCollections-for-4.1.0.15-betaServer.zip AutoCollections-for-4.2.0.17-betaServer.zip (4.6.0.10 and before) 4.6.4.0 and above (does not require beta server as version number has been surpassed) AutoCollections-for-4.6.0.22-betaServer.zip Note: Original version will cause issue with other new plugins like Top Picks. Updates by community members: v.1.0.0.4 New update thanks to @Cheesegeezer Looks like we've managed to update the plugin, to be current Emby Server 4.7.7 (minimum). Some Changes to be aware of Automatic Library scan and updates are disabled, too many things are triggering library scans at the moment and entering into an endless loop which will crash the server. Moved to a Scheduled task now. Fully Locked item Metadata can be ignored in the Plugin Settings for grouping. (Partial field may have worked before but you need to Lock the item itself now) ".strm" files are ignored from any processing New plugin Graphics with a big nod to MikePlanet This is always Mikes plugin and the work he has done is fantastic. - We only did essential maintenance to keep this alive for you peeps. AutoCollections_1.0.0.4.zip v1.0.0.5 Removed Top Pick Items from the available item list re introduced the auto scanning... this will take place 1 min after an item event is detected re introduced auto run after a library scan tested against top pick plugin and there is no endless looping... but please test fixed the locked items bug. Good luck and let me know how the testing goes. AutoCollections.v1.0.0.5.zip v.1.0.0.9 New update thanks to @Hoptional Added option whether to Merge items across different libraries Compatible with nested folder structures, the "Top Picks", and the "New Releases" plugin Improved logging AutoCollections_1.0.0.9-libraryoption.dll1 point

It appears that any playlist that any user creates is public--all other users can see it. I can appreciate the benefit of a public playlist. I could create a playlist called "Harv's Favorite Horror Films" for example, in case other users are interested in checking out what I like. However, the way most of my users are using playlists is to keep track of things they want to watch in the future. They are typically things that the user has not watched yet, so it's not meant as a recommendation to others, just as a way of them personally keeping track of what they want to watch. Having that kind of playlist be public is of questionable benefit to other users. Additionally, it is not clear when you create a playlist that other users will be able to see it. That has the potential to cause some embarrassment. He hasn't created one yet, but I wouldn't want to see my nephew's "movies to fap to" playlist, for example. If I could make a suggestion, I would suggest associating each playlist with the user who created it, and giving that user the ability to make the playlist private or public. For example, the following two checkboxes could be shown when creating or editing a playlist: Allow other users to see this playlist Allow other users to edit this playlist Initially, both checkboxes would be unchecked. Since another user cannot edit a playlist they cannot see, the second would be allowed to be checked only if the first were also checked. (You could grey it out to make that clear.) Depending on your UI preference, it could also be a drop-down menu. Playlist visibility: (Only me | all users can view | all users can view and edit) Thanks for considering this.1 point

Can you add playlist support to the sync and download option? The feature is awesome for movies, but for music it needs to have a way to play a playlist. I wanted to use the sync and download for music to not use my phone data, I normally use all in 2 weeks. I use Emby on my phone and then I connect it to the car to listen to music.1 point

While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations1 point

While setting up a new device or just searching for the next hiccup it would sometimes be useful to be able to jump to the currently playing media which is shown in the server dashboard. Maybe just by clicking on the image of the active device. ATM now, I have to search for the item in the search field (which sometimes work and sometimes not) or need to manually browse through the library to see the media details.1 point

Hi everyone, I have a other ideia for embyweb and emby apps, i would like than emby devs develop a way to post comments on the movies and store the comments as (Self Hosted) . So if someone have previously whatched the movies he/she can comment thought (Nvidia Shield,Android,iOS,WEB,etc...) and then we can reply but the whole thing self hosted. This is a e.g (Footage of my feature demande ) (Hosted in emby means -> Hosted in my Server "SelfHosted") Kind regards EDIT: Also i forget to precise but this feature need some moderation tools or be moderated by default by Emby Server "Self Hosted" like ban url, (Just something to eliminate all potential wrong use of this) or not clicable links etc.. (Basicly a tool to moderate it) i have family on my server and i don't want they swear on my emby server because i have also my family on it so it will be nice to have a tool to moderate comments. Waiting for @Luke opinion and @ebr to know if this is releasable and there will be a way or a hope for this in the feature and how many time it will take ? Enjoy VOTE WITH LIKE NOT WITH +1 COMMENT1 point

Hi everyone, I really enjoy emby this now a days through my Nvidia Shield Pro, but i'm thinking than there is some feeds (Main Browser) is missing and it will be very nice if it emby team emplement it on all supported apps, So this is how i imaginate the news fed tabs in main (Home) screen. 1st:. Feed by popularity (Emby just need to atache some db or use the liked movies on emby for it) 2nd:. Recently released (Show on Emby/Emby Apps, the most newly released movies on the home feed) 3rd:. Best movies by rating, (Emby can use the external db or use the emby it self, e.g when someone like a movie on emby it ask also for a review and based in this data, it uses the data for both Feed Popularity and Best movies by rating ) If someone have more imagination for news feeds (EmbyWeb/Apps) let me know bellow. My Demand shold be possible to be done easily and without external db, BUT i think with an external DB should help but i vote for one internally (Self hosted) . (I also suggest use External DB "The Movie DB/Open Movie DB, ETC" as a option) but i thought in a hybrid thing like (Use database for the base and than re-rate by the users on emby ) this option must be exist if the external db exist. Kind Regards1 point

Case in point with OP referencing Jellyfin. Jellyfin did not fork from Emby because Emby was terrible. Jellyfin forked because Emby closed off the code to their server core (for financial reasons). That doesn't mean that people who use Jellyfin think Emby is altogether trash. It just happens that the Jellyfin devs don't deliver near as good support as the Emby devs, but then neither does Plex. I didn't adopt Emby because the Plex software is bad. I adopted Emby because the Plex devs implemented Plex News (which was mandatory initially); Tidal; changed their privacy policy to be able to sell our usage data forcibly and without our consent; and updated their Android app to an unusable, broken mess (ie. Plex for Android v7)---all while ignoring bug reports, leaving certain platforms to unceremoniously die, and wholesale ignoring the feature request forum section.1 point

Well we’d have to agree that the look of plex is something to be aspired to for any of that to be relevant1 point

For time I will see, since it will bring some issue if i apply it. (If not change by tomorrow, then that mean I will not apply it). Yes, I will try to fix the dark theme within firefox white post box issue, either today or tomorrow. Sorry guys, but they are more important matters I want to apply or fix than these, but i will try my best.1 point

This is already (partially) possible. The add-on provides Emby-specific context menu items on imported media items and one of them is "Synchronize". The only missing part is that synchronizing a TV show only synchronizes the metadata of the TV show and it doesn't synchronize update its seasons and / or episodes as well.1 point

Isn't that option in the next section? Someone comments on something I follow1 point

Yes I have done that. I have not turned down the power on the UDM though. Probably on medium. I'm getting great speeds across the whole house. Better than I did with the AP-pro in the living room. UDM is in the garage fyi. You might want to look into the Radio AI feature in the controller. This feature scans the area to determine the best channel(s) you should use and the power rates to maximize throughput and reduce interference. It is currently a beta feature but has been around for about a year + and is in a really stable condition.1 point

All done guys, 3.0.4.4 is now live on the Emby plugin catalog :) <u>v3.0.4.4</u> <strong>General</strong> * Added 'Person' to [Entity Types] for conditions on actions. * Rectified bug where a 'Person' %library.* values would be substituted as errors. This stems from these types of entities not belonging to a library, and not having any path or parent. So now, any entity without a path and parent will not attempt to have its library type or name ascertained, as it doesn't have one. <strong>Packages</strong> * Rectified reported [<a is="emby-linkbutton" target= '_blank' href="https://github.com/AnthonyMusgrove/Emby-ScripterX/issues/37" class="button-link emby-button">Github Issue#37</a>]: .JsonPost() was not sending the correct accept header, now rectified (please see issue notes). Set the default content-type for .Post() to application/x-www-form-urlencoded. Headers can be overridden (see next log entry) * Implemented a CustomHeaderBuilder container that you can use to create custom headers for your Get, JsonPost or Post request. Rectified issue relating to the new parameter being mandatory, it is no longer mandatory and you can submit your request using the default headers by ommitting the third parameter of the request (JsonPost,Post) or second parameter of a Get request. (please see wiki on how to create a CustomHeaderBuilder and how it works.)1 point

You should have created a VM for Blue Iris, and had a dual port NIC. Then you could have made separate VLANs for Emby and Blue Iris. If you run Blue Iris on a separate machine (the NUC), then you can easily separate them with VLANs and no complicated rules or tagging. Cloud keys have security issues, anyway.1 point

First, I am new to Emby and I love it. I just came from GPM and this does all that I need. When viewing an album, I would like to see the length of the album near the title, like "10 tracks 54m" or something. Like how a playlist shows the length of the playlist.1 point

Have to add my frustration on the state of Live TV. I have to use NextPVR with the plugin and SD guide data as emby does not work with my tuner cards without having to rely on the Hauppague software. Once you do get it set up you find that emby theater locks up for 30 seconds at a time if you try and fast forward past the live TV buffer, that the overlay often goes missing, will crash when changing channel etc, no way to change channel using a remote and other basic shortcomings. Basic stuff that good old Windows Media Center did for free nearly 10 years ago, yet we are paying for as a premium feature?1 point
-
There are more "important" things to focus on, like moving, renaming, changing button for scanning library, and than 3 releases changing it again. I completely agree with you and don't understand priorities anymore since there are like 100 posts for live tv features concerning awful channel management and other things for live tv / m3u that are slacking for years now.1 point

It is becaming a joke how many basics things are not done yet and who knows when maybe when a better competitor comes along they will start taking the users seriously because they certainly are not now. You can put up with it only for so long.1 point
