When the app initially was released, back when the project was Media Browser and was a community driven hobby project, it was the official app in the same way as @Redshirt did the official Android app and @ScottIsAfool did it for Windows Phone. But with Emby incorporating, the company needs it's own app and I'm not a part of that company. Hence, the app is no longer the official one.

We have delayed the formal announcement hoping that Microsoft would have the Xbox store for UWP apps up and running. Well.... We can wait no longer, sorry Xbox fans MS doesn't seem to be ready.
