  2. I have already created some scheduled Series that record every Tuesday - Saturday, but it'd be great to edit the Start Date and End Date of it in case you need to change it or made a mistake. I just found myself now that what I had scheduled on TV got the time stamp changed by them, so now I have to delete my existent Series and create new ones from scratch. Ideally you'd click on a Series and be able to change Start and End Date.

    Prevent Subtitle Burn-In Transcoding?

@jaycedkHmm... I don't have a Subtitle Options under Advanced. Is it a plugin of some kind?
  4. You don't need to download any apps - and this is the point we are making. Emby does not 'play' anything on the LG TV - all it effectively does is pass the 'data' to the internal LG player. It then plays it. This is why there are restrictions. Emby has no control over what the internal player can or cannot play. The 100% proof of this - is to copy the file to a USB stick (as is, just copy your MKV file) and then in the WebOS file explorer (already in the 'Apps') try and play the file. You can download a TS or MP4 DV Demo files from the web and put those on the USB as well if you like - they will play/activate DV - unless the much nwer versions of WebOS now support MKV, I'm suspecting the MKV will not activate DV (and never has) - it may play as HDR if the DV has that fallback layer (MKV/DV 8 ) but will play with odd colours if a MKV/DV5 as the LG Player will not recognise it as DV and change it's colour space.

Option to play using external player

Hi. In the case of Android, we don't control this. The Android system is the one producing that dialog.
  6. Hi, there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at:
  7. Hi. You aren't the originator of this request and the original request only mentions using the "unwatched" filter in (presumably) the normal views. To hide content there would mean hiding it pretty much everywhere (although, there would have to be some sort of view of "things I marked not interested" in order for you to change your mind). I presumed that you, as the server owner, had only added things you weren't interested in to your server due to requests from your family. I use the folder-based access control to keep things my kids want but I don't separate. It works well for me but maybe not for everyone but I wanted to be sure everyone was aware it is possible.

Option to play using external player

Any chance of this being being reopened again? I am new to Emby and so far very happy with the product. I have been reluctant to buy the product earlier because I unfortunately have 70% of my movies and TV shows in ISO format. I did the mistake when backing up my Blu Ray and DVD discs in the past. It's just the main movie file without the menus, but still, the issue is to play the movies. So, I am really happy about the option of using external player, but as I would like to use the internal one when I can, it is annoying that you have to go to the overall system setting to change the player before watching a movie. The above suggestion is good, but if difficult to add this, a probably easier way is just to add the internal player as option when you select the "external player" to use for a movie. I am using Emby on NVidia Shields. I'll convert my files, but that will take a long, long time...

    Prevent Subtitle Burn-In Transcoding?

    Try some of these settings
  11. Luke, just tested with arm7 and same issue as regular android tv version
  12. hi sorry I don't know how many times I should say that. I never transcoded anything in my life with emby or any other way. I'm 100% sure I watched endless dv movies and shows without receiver (directly with lg app) on b7 and a cxx I don't know from last year. I have only and I really mean only mkv files. the last time I had an ts file or avi or I don't know whatever is 8 years ago best guess. there must be a change with emby or lg webos. I'm not an it guy but with 3 completed studies and a strong interest in technology I would say I'm not completely stupid I know the settings and my setup and in my pictures you see that 2 different dv files (that were played correctly some weeks ago) are recognized as dv and are played directly. they are just pink now or hdr only mode so no, we do not agree that lg and emby aren't playing (or better weren't) playing dv mkv files. i can copy these 2 on usb later but I'm not sure what this info will help? first I need to download an lg app that is able to play local dv files I guess? Last time I read about these topics were some years ago and vlc were not... happy Thursday! sun is shining! it's just tv... but nevertheless annoying...

EMBY no internet access, local connection ONLY

you are correct it does not.. I've removed it.
  14. Hi, I think it's something that's been talked about a lot and can be difficult to search and find a direct answer for... I have a lot of media with image-based subtitles. While my Synology DS220+ can handle a few basic transcodes at a time, even one subtitle burning in brings it to its knees. However it's very difficult at this point to teach my (remote) family how to turn off subtitles by default, and even harder to teach/convince them to turn subtitles on for every movie/show/episode they watch... so I want to leave those settings on for them. But any media with an image-based subtitle is a ticking time bomb if they go to try and play it. The 100% answer would be for me to remux the media to get rid of it, but that'd be a considerable work effort in my current environment. Is there any way to prevent image-based subtitle burn in altogether? Regular non-subtitle transcoding is fine, even necessary in my environment in rare cases... but subtitle burn-in transcoding in particular. Like... if it finds an image-based subtitle, either defer to the next best SRT/ASS or even just turn the subtitles off in that one instance, before it blows anything up? Appreciate any help

Emby Docker Unraid Fallo de conexion

No tengo TLS, voy a ver como se configura.

Emby Docker Unraid Fallo de conexion

Is your Emby Server secured with TLS? (ie. have configured certificate for HTTPS, etc) By the looks of it you are trying to use the HTTPS version of app.emby.media - which won't work unless your server is also running HTTPS You can try forcing the browser to use HTTP only but that is getting more difficult to do, see this helpful guide
  18. My bad, links posted are generally related to Missing episodes - proper relevant Paul's topic:
  19. Thank you I've been asking for this in another topic: and no one told me this feature was available. In any case, no matter the "Show display" for me is inconsistent that are presented one horizontal and the other vertical.
  20. @GrimReaper@pwhodgesaren't these topics related only to Missing Episodes and not Specials? I understand the idea of trimming the database by not showing missing episodes in the same folder but as for Specials it somehow seems to be duplicated now as I have folder Specials displayed and additionally the same special episodes displayed within the season they were played in by default. As with many other customizations, is there any file I'd need to change a code in to stop that from happening?
  21. So I did some testing - this was on my LG OLED C8 and the results were exactly as I predicted - and things have not changed since I moved off the LG Emby App years ago .. (the reason I bought a Shield Pro instead..) Latest LG App - 1042 Files below from official LG Demo files. TS + DV5 - TV Activates DV correctly MP4 + DV5 - TV Activates DV correctly Files below are my normal MKV's - these playback in the Shield in DV just fine (activating DV on the TV). MKV + DV8 - TV Activates HDR Only (fallback layer) MKV + DV5 - TV plays with DV5 colour space (purple/green) So in summary, it's behaving exactly as I thought it would. @SamES- Re the streaming theory - I agree, any container swap to TS or MP4 (from MKV) is going to lose DV in the process - the best you are going to get is HDR - and even that might not be possible via HLS ? But as said above - removing Emby from the equation - simply copy the file that previously 'worked' (activated DV on the TV) to a USB stick - and then use WebOS to open the file - if it does not activate DV, then neither will emby as it uses the exact same internal LG player.

Necesito ayuda.

    Emby Making Double Folders!

Hi All, Not sure if there is already a solution to this topic, but I have set up a fresh Ubuntu media server and when I list movies as folders emby creates subfolders. I have never seen this before! If I list movies as Movies it all looks correct. But I always look at the folder view. Is this something I can modify in Library settings, if so where? I used 47 Ronin as an example, but this is happening to all movies! you can see a small white folder icon on all the movies! Last part of the video you can see the movie directory 2024-03-28_11-44-14.mp4 Screenshot.pdf
  25. @RanmaCanada I would go for the one with a nic, and it has 16gb ram. It look like the 1 without, has soldered Ram, so he will be stuck with 8gb ram.

    constant crashing after video plays

They dropped hardware support for decoding with the raspberry pi 5. I am one of those very disappointed buyers who thought that raspberry pi 5 would be an upgrade in every possible way in comparison to the raspberry pi 4. To play media on a raspberry pi 5 the server needs to be able to do the transcoding. To play media on any other devices where the raspberry pi 5 is the media server will cause a lot of problems with lag and mega high CPU load. Unless that media client is able to do the decoding of the video file itself. For example if you have a raspberry pi 5 as a media server then all the connected clients must be raspberry pi 4. The whole idea about having a small and neat setup with a small board devices such as raspberry pi for NAS+media server+media client is not optimal in the real world. It could have been if they weren't so stupid to drop the hardware support for encoding/decoding on the raspberry pi 5. The other devices have a much weaker CPU and no real support for nvme devices making them less than ideal for the subject. In addition to this the software for raspberry pi family is not great either, sure you can get Plex and whatever running on a raspberry pi, addons for Kodi etc. But they are not built for the soul purpose to run on a raspberry pi. Getting a real NAS with 4k decoding/transcoding is probably a whole lot better. Or a x86 computer where you can run windows or Linux on with software aimed to run on this platform and hardware. Sadly enough.
