WMC Remote

What kind of compatibility will MBT have with WMC remotes? e.g. if I press the "info" button, will I be able to bring up the OSD?

One thing I really dislike about Plex is that the integration with remote is minimum. You have to map everything yourself, which is an incredible chore.

I would really like a universal remote app for all of the devices like what xbmc has.  Despite XBMCs issues, the remote app is phenomenal.

Currently the * button brings up the OSD but I hope it will be mapped to the info button at some point. I would like to be able to map the green button to open MBT personally.

on w8 i have the green button mapped to Start. That way you can navigate the metro tiles and launch whatever you want...

That would be easy to do for MBT.... I do it now with MBC if i want to go straight there!

Oh that's pretty cool. How did you do that? Although not good for me currently as still in 7 mostly, but good for my kids and when I do finally switch for good.

Cheers. I had looked at that previously but didn't really find a way as I wasn't sure how to use hex codes for different applications, etc. Unless I'm missing something?

Check out CommandFusion.  Great free app for Apple or Android.  You can make a custom remote fairly quickly.  I did mine last weekend and love it.  Now I control everything from my tablet, MC, Sky, Amp!

If anything, make WMC remote a paid plug-in. This way it helps support mb. Just a thought Luke if your reading this.

i dont see an answer to the orginal question...

Will MBT support MCE Remote?

I'm guessing not. Otherwise, the devs would have weighed in already

So far it has been working perfectly fine using my Harmony that is setup as a WMC remote.

It works perfectly fine using a WMC Remote, it is just small details like the info button opening the OSD instead of the * key and a big wish from me is to somehow integrate the option to map the green button to open MBT. Maybe it could be done by making a change to the registry?

I'm finding, especially with the kids, they are so used to just hitting the green button that they aren't using MBT but instead using WMC and MBC due to this.

Take a look at this

Also get auto hot key software which you will be able to remap a keyboard key to launch a program of your choice I.e. F1 will launch media browser, so using the the remote remapper software you will be able to select the green button and tell it to press F1 therefore launching media browser or any other app you wish

At Syztemlord, I tried setting my mce remote, but don't know the commands to put in the system manager fields. Can you upload your settings please if you don't mind, thanks. I also looked at editing the registry, but still unsure where to make the changes.
