Hello,

There's a lot of information about this topic but I still can't find something that would help me. All of this is new to me so please bare with me here.

I have Emby installed on my Gaming PC (Ryzen 2700X, RTX 2080, 48 GB RAM) and have couple of anime that I want to play on my Android TV (Philips 50PUS7303). Sadly every single episode is so unwatchable on a TV. I understand that this format is heavy on CPU and Android TVs cannot handle that but from what I understand point of Emby Server is to use it's resource to transcode (?) and make it watchable. I tried toying with the settings but with no success. I'd be very grateful for help.

I attached the logs, if you require anything else just let me know. Thank you.

Did you enable transcoding for the user?

settings, server, users, you user, media playback, allow video playback that requires transcoding

Hi.  Exactly what happens?  What is "unwatchable"?

Sorry, I should've been more specific. I can hear the audio and see subtitles just fine but the screen is either black or freezes on 1 frame and refreshes every 1-2 minutes.

The log you posted does not appear to be from playback.  Are you sure it is the right one?

Were any ffmpeg logs created?

Cannot find any ffmpeg logs on the Server. Not sure if it helps but I did send logs from my Android TV (using the in app option) about 5 minutes ago.

My AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\logs folder:

Try lowering quality below that media bitrate, 3-4 Mbps or lower, and see does it make a difference?

Tried lowering Quality to 1-4 Mbps but everytime I got a popup "Too many errors. Giving up". It created a lot of ffmpeg logs, I zipped all of them.

Do you have Emby Premiere subscription (which would enable HW accelleration)?

I installed emby few days ago and I was under the impression  that it offered a free trial. A message that a trial will expire keeps popping on my Android TV when I start playback. Is HW acceleration still blocked even if I'm on trial?

I don't think server has a trial, only certain client apps (like Android TV app) do, which is unrelated to server-side Premiere subscription benefits, but I beleive @ebr will give you more insight on that.

I purchased Premiere subscription just now and tested things again but sadly no change. I don't get an error while using Playback correction now but sadly it does not help.

Did you insert your Premiere key in Dashboard>Emby Premiere tab? Is it active already?

Yes, the status says:

"You have a Monthly Emby Premiere plan and your device usage is well within your limit."

Now try playback with lower bitrate to see is your 2080 taking the load.

Anyway, @softworkz might revert on this one.

Sorry, this is going a bit over my head. Is there anything I can do with my current setup to make this work?
