sfnetwork 514
Since I did one for iOS, I thought I would do one for Android... (don't want to make Red angry, lol) Now, Plex client for Android is actually, IMO, their best so the bar is high already. And there are still a lot of optimizations and features to do/add but even at this point, it's comparable. I'm not showing "everything", just the main views. This was done with a Nexus 7 2013. Home screen is the same concept on both (slide right and left for the views. The collections is the main highlight for MB, Plex is just boring and lack of customization IMO... One important thing to mention, user has "Movies", "TV", etc... available and those are ALL item (movies=all movies from all collections). In Plex, user can't (easily) Movie library: TV library: TV seasons. Here MB need to work in the layouts IMO (but Red is already aware of it and working on it to my knowledge) but the actual image (backdrop) is just amazing: Episodes, for me, MB is much better in this layout. Plex looks "messy"... Movie details; Plex is missing something important here... Internal player: And my favorite part; "Plex doesn't do that!" And, MB client for Android is still in Beta... Well done Red! Keep up the good work! Edited October 12, 2013 by sfnetwork
Redshirt 1487
I'm not upset at all. It's nice to see the comparison. BTW. With this weekend being a long weekend (you knew that ) I've been working on mitigating some of the "MB Doesn't do that" issues.

Redshirt 1487
Nothing new yet. It's on my radar, but it's going to be a bugger to implement. You can follow the bug on github if you want. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser.Android/issues/
Luke 37151
fyi - the server update i pushed the other night inadvertently had the hls kill removal in it. if you haven't implemented the manual kill yet you should think about getting it done asap because people are going to be reporting issues about ffmpeg being left running. Cheesegeezer 3089
SF what would we do without you!! You are our Devils Advocat (in the nicest possible way). Well I don't own android, but you can see from the screenshots MB is visually more stunning than Plex, which is what it needs to be, visually stunning. Well done Red, you little legend you!! Luke 37151
Is it just me or do we look better in every single screenshot? Just shows what a nice job Red has done, even against good competition. Maybe with the one exception of the internal player - i think the thick yellow stars are a little old-school, as are the colored media icons. but that's minor. Obviously another equally important test is how smooth and easy it is to use, so perhaps you could do a break down there too.
