gregkodi 4 Posted May 30, 2021 Share Posted May 30, 2021 Hello, i wanted to ask about possibility to include/check channels. On my normal iptv software in tv/vlc its all ok, i can see all channels. But when i run it inside emby, i just get the 720 channels. I get for example normally: channel ABC 720p channel ABC 1080p So i can always choose which one i want to play. But, when i am in emby i only get to see in the list the 720 one. Could someone might have a look at this ? If so, please let me know which logs/files should i attach / paste. My m3u i get from provider looks like this with channels: EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="tv4.pl" tvg-name="TV 4 HD" tvg-logo="http://www.kayum.xyz/picons_13E/1_0_19_3393_3390_71_820000_0_0_0.png" group-title="█ PL| OGOLNOTEMATYCZNE",TV 4 HD http://url/34730 #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="tv4.pl" tvg-name="TV 4 HD (720p)" tvg-logo="http://www.kayum.xyz/picons_13E/1_0_19_3393_3390_71_820000_0_0_0.png" group-title="█ PL| OGOLNOTEMATYCZNE",TV 4 HD (720p) http://url/340263 i think 80% of channels i get have both versions 720 + 1080. Also i got one other question, the provider i have, implements groupings. the software in TV for iptv, can groups channels, like: info , movies, documentaries etc etc.. Are there any plans to support this in emby , the grouping i mean ? And the last question, is there any particular reason why emby loads maybe 5% of epg 'what is currently being played' for channels ? The provider gives the epg xml, it works just fine in Smart IPTV. BillOatman 502 Posted May 30, 2021 Share Posted May 30, 2021 (edited) I believe it is because they both have this Quote tvg-id="tv4.pl" Emby considers them duplicate channels because of this and only gives you one. I mean if it's needed to change it i could give it a try, but , then i guess epg would stop working. Because this is still the same channel, i cant call it: tv4.pl2 , as this channel code can't be then found in the epg.xml i think. You would need to somehow add a new entry for the second channel in the xml as well. I keep Emby's live TV active now only for my kids who live remote so they can use it. Yeah that's basically what I did for Emby. I picked the one that looks the best and kept it. For sports channels IMO 720 at 60FPS is far better that 1080 at 30FPS.
