Yea we're not going to move away from ffprobe. We should be able to update it to add the support ourselves.

Great news. I figured out how to use MusicBee to create a custom "Artists" tag consisting of \ separated artists so that ffprobe and Emby are able to parse them correctly. If anyone else runs into this issue, shoot me a DM and I'll walk you through how to do it.

Hi guys,

the latest beta of Emby Server for Windows (4.7.0.7) includes support for reading null-separated id3v2 values.

Please let us know whether it works for you!

i gave it a very quick  go with this file from the ffmpeg bug tracker linked in this thread, as soon as i saw in the release notes...but i couldnt get it to work...perhaps i need to persevere? or maybe the improvement doesnt apply to id3v2.4?

Are you able to share the command you are using to get ffprobe to output the raw value of the tag and not stop at the null separator? For troubleshooting we always used to use ffprobe to "see what emby sees" ..so it would be good to continue to be able to do this...

This should finally be working in beta 4.7.0.9 - please try and let us know how it goes!

Thanks,

Track is showing the tags from that test file above.

Album is not showing all genres though.
