new movie validation request

Hello,

I noticed a bug on Emby: some films are misidentified because it happens that several films have the same name or a similar name.

This same type of bug is found with the Auto Box Sets plug-in: some collections are erroneous by adding films that are not part of the collection: in the Captain America collection (https://www.themoviedb.org/collection / 131295) ended up the movie "The Captain" (https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/475094-der-hauptmann).

It might be good if any new film added, we were asked to validate or not the newly identified film. A bit as if, when we open the film tab, a pop-up asks us to validate the new films discovered.

By having the possibility to change the ID of the film directly and to watch it in part to be sure not to make a mistake. Manually validated films should also be blocked so that they no longer have to be modified. Because another bug sometimes appears: some films are modified by Emby after having been identified manually, we must therefore identify manually and block so that this does not happen again.

In summary, an option should allow us to offer us to validate the new films discovered: poster, proposed title, file title, file size, possibility of reading and possibility of modifying in case of error by adding the ID either even. The same goes for the collection with Auto Box Sets.

What do you think?

I should have written this post from the start of my use of Emby, it would have avoided renaming everything now ...

Thank you.

Hi.  That is not a "bug". It is an ambiguity in the input.   As Vdata mentioned, we have ways for you to define your media that will pretty much eliminate this problem.

Thank you again, I'm going to work a lot (more than 6000 files to rename)

There shouldn't be that many with this issue though...

Also, I don't think your suggestion would really help you out in your situation because everything would be new so it would be no different from you just looking at your library content.

Do you suggest not to modify all my files? I thought I had to do this in order to avoid any further modification ...

Hi. It depends on exactly how they are structured and named.  If you only had problems with movies that have ambiguous titles, then you would only need to rename those.

The files have been renamed as follows:

title (1080p) .mkv

either the files have kept the original title in English or in French.

So I'm going to check out the problematic titles and change the title structure.

For films and series, I understood how to name them.

However, I have a concern about documentaries. some are well recognized as documentaries and others as films:

these are recognized as documentaries:

https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/61314-apocalypse-la-premi-re-guerre-mondiale

https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/58474-cosmos

but not those:

https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/478503-poron-vuosi

https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/14002-baraka

Any idea on how to name documentaries?

Hi.  Exactly how you see them named at the provider.  Or, just use the "Identify" feature to manually identify them.

This is exactly what I had tried but the documentaries still did not appear.

I found:

when creating the file I selected "mixed content" (I don't know if this is the name in English). And miracle: everything appears.

However, I cannot change the name of the folder, it remains displayed "mixed content" (in French: "contenu mixte") or so I did not find.

Hi, yes you can rename libraries after creating them by using the 3-dot menu.

Am I tired and can't see anything or is there no way to change the name?

However, I remember having given a name when creating the folder.

Since I couldn't rename it, I deleted it then recreated it, this time the name remained

I did not do a print screen but the option did not appear. In short, everything is working now. Thank you for your help.
