@cayars are you able to help me at all please?

Surely I can. :)

Let's check a couple of things first.

From your computer if you do a trace route to an internet IP such as 8.8.8.8 (google dns) what does the 2 to 4th lines look like?

NOTE: on Windows bring up a command prompt (dos box) and type:
tracert 8.8.8.8

Do you see any IPs starting with "10.", "172." or "192." after the first hop?

I will surely do this tomorrow and thank you but in answer to your question @Luke when I'm trying to access the Emby server outside the network, I get a Select Server scre6, and then when I choose Oceanwalk_NAS I just get the Connection Failure error message.

it's possible that my Synology DS is blocking rather than my router I dunno but will do this Trace tomorrow that @cayarshas suggested and report back.

thanks both for your help once again

The fact you get to select the server means your port forwarding and local emby connection is working ok.

BT doesn't use CGNAT.

You may need to provide a log from the server to see what is going on.

If you can't figure it out just let me know and I can remote in over the weekend with you (or when ever) and try to help you out.

Ok I've done a tracecert and I've attached an image of the output of this as I've not a clue what the output even means.

Does this even help you at all?

That 3rd hop looks suspect being a reserved IP address in the 172.16 address space.

How many routers do you have?

Just realised that I have more. I have the router plugged into a 24 port switch. I also have the mesh plugged into the router.

Sorry to be so difficult.
