Hi,

I've an issue and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or is a missing features.

Some of TV Shows consider a previous or after show movie as special Chapter as it's shown in TVDB, for Example this one:

In this example, the movie Legion is considered the Season 0 Chapter 1 for Dominion TVShow.

In the previous media server I was using, was as simple as naming this one as 0x01-Legion.mkv, to be recognized as the chapter 0 in the TV Show and then add manually the Season 0 to the Movies Library, and make a manual identification of this as the movie Legion.

Tried the same on Emby but the 0x01-Legion.mkv file is not recognized as a movie on movies library.

Any Idea on how to sort it ? If there's no way, any option this can be considered for an RFE ?

Thanks.

Hi, what do you mean by not recognized?

Does not even appear as unidentified movie, like if u did not add the folder.

Have you tried naming it (and the folder containing it) using the preferred convention?  E.g. "Legion (2010)".

If it's simply been mis-identified, sorting by date added is the quick way to find that out.

If I rename it to the Movies Folder convention or the movies file convention then will not be identified as the chapter 0x01 in the TV Shows Library

BTW as I said the movie does not appear even sorted by added is like nothing have been added to the movies library

Make subfolder folder Legion (2010) in your Movies folder and use strm file inside.

So how come it is in both libraries?  Have you linked the folder containing it into both?  If so that's the cause, as this is not supported and does not work right.

You need either to copy the file, or to use a strm file as a link. (EDIT: snap!)

Thanks, can u please elaborate ? I don't know what is strm file.

Just to be clear the purpose is the same flie can be identified as the Season 0 Chapter 1 in the TV Shows Library and the Movie Legion (2010) in the Movies Library

Yes that was the intention to use the same file for both libraries and not duplicating it twice just to appear on both libraries

Quick read here:

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159147

Basically, make a txt file with path to your media file, rename to <moviename>.strm, rescan.
