rocafebo 0
A few days ago I bought the Xiaomi TV Stick. For streaming it works very well, I have no complaints. But even though it is compatible with the x265 codec, every time I want to play a video in that format, Emby starts transcoding to h264 ... why does this happen? ebr 14955
Hi. Can we please look at an example? Also, have you looked at either the server dashboard or the stats feature in the app to learn why it is transcoding?

ebr 14955
Looks like maybe HEVC 10 and the device says it doesn't support that. You could try the beta of the app to see how it behaves.

Puede probar la versión beta de la aplicación para ver cómo se comporta. I'll try with beta Android tv. If I use VLC as external player then the movie plays without transcoding... the device is compatible with h265.
ebr 14955
Just now, rocafebo said: If I use VLC as external player then the movie plays without transcoding... the device is compatible with h265 The fact VLC plays it does not mean the "device" supports it. Also, it isn't just "HEVC". There are different types of HEVC. But, please try the beta and let us know your experience. Thanks.
